In my view Leona is singing better BUT ! Snow Patrol wrote this song or not? I donn't know.. but I think He made and write this song and this is really difficult. Well, I think that's a matter of taste, at least. I have heard both this and the "official" version of this song sung by Snow Patrol, and I don't think they're better - I think they're worse. They lack feeling and the drown the song in the same level of emotion and loud music all the way. Leona Lewis has much more impression in her interpretation.

But let's leave this as a matter of taste, ok? No need to start a war or throw offenses around about it. :)

I love Gary's voice much more, it sounds more touching, deeper and more emotional for me. He doesn't only sing his songs, he feels them.

This is written as a rock ballad, and rock singer normally don't sing like pop divas! LOL. This is real music, but Leona's cover is plastic pop with fake emotion and sounds so overdone. Her voice doesn't suit this song at all. The original version is millions better than the cover of Leona.

Leona's version is more about showing off her vocal range and tbh shouting the notes whereas Gary shows that simple is a million times better, that you don't have to hold big notes or go over the top for it to work. Just because someone hasn't written a lyrics doesn't mean they can't feel the song as deeply. The point of music is projecting your emotions/memories onto the lyrics.
