  • Well made video! This need to be shown on RTE and more awareness raised. I do believe the state of things in Ireland would improve if more people knew the truth.

  • im British myself yeah bloody Sunday was wrong i lived in northern Ireland ur country republic is awesome well u shouldn't of bombed us we shouldn't of did this and at the end of the day nothing more is gonna happen anyway i hope. Hope the best for both our countries cant say its wrong tht the IRA is made every country has a right to have hope.

  • @JTCchannel sounds like you think i am irish. i am from germany and did this for a project at school ;-) got some trouble because they said i would support terror organizations.

  • @higglypiggly the "white rose" was called a terror organization as well, back then :p

  • красиво и печально

  • If the IRA is considered a terrorist group then so should the founding fathers of America and their minutemen

  • I suggest reading The IRA by Tim Pat Coogan....lengthy book but it really gives you a good understand of what was going on.

  • The sheer number of groups that have called themselves the IRA in the past makes generalizations about them, good or bad, nearly impossible.

  • the IRA are not drug dealers they are vigilantes well at least down here in cork anyway

  • awesome

  • 26+6 = 1

    Erin Go Bragh

  • The IRA may have been classed as terrorists but yet magically beforehand they were seen as heroes who used partisan tactics. The problem large nations such as the US and UK have is that while they have a 'conventional' army smaller armies wont play by the big boy's rules. And when its war you don't play by anyone's rules but your own. Guerrilla warfare has been shown time and time again to be effective against a numerically superior foe

  • what i am saying is civillians should never be targeted in any conflict and even now' dissident republicans' are targeting Garda , Psni and leaving large bombs in small towns and villagesw with the aim to kill and maime innocent people.

  • that right there is the downfall of many small armies yet they justify its effectiveness of the attack instead of taking responsibilty for the innocent lives that will be lost from that careless act.

  • very true its like many nations still want to stick to the warfare that was used during the American Revolution and U.S Civil War but as the time changed so did the rules of war an to others they decide to throw out the rules and use as you said just now Guerilla Warfare.

  • whereas the ira for alot of there history have been quite far from what this country needs and the same goes for loyalist/protestant organisations.

  • sorry didnt mean to offend, but i didnt say u liked the ira killing civilians, but what im saying is that the ira have basically always been a terrorist orginization and putting there name at the end of the video is kind of insulting, as i am from ireland, i only meant to point out that the united irish men would have been a better choice as they were fighting for the irish nation including catholics and protestants

  • did i say that i like that the ira killed civilians? i support the ira until they started to attack civilians.

  • @higglypiggly Well they were different organizations at different time periods using the name. The oriignal IRA was much different than the Provos.

now no one likes the killing of civilians, but i understand where they came from. It was essentially as long as those people lived and supported their government (even if it was in ignorance) they would all remain targets. Essentially there really wasn't such a thing as a "civilian". I can see where they came from there.

  • where is the north on that map at the start, it is part of ireland because not everyone up north is pro british,i am irish through and through, very much in favour of a united ireland, but using the ira as an influence is a bit fucked up as during the troubles they were responsible for alot of the deaths of civilians, both catholic and protetstant, so they can in no way be called freedom fighters or idolised like henry joy mccracken or james napper tandy should be.

  • Remember well the 30th of January, The feeling of dread that was in the air. The people marched for their right to equality, They only wanted to be treated fair. Shots were fired my a mindless military, The people ran they were unarmed Across the world we will read of Derry And those who died by oppressive hands. 13 people lost their lives that Sunday, Women, children and innocent men. Many wounded lay crying in agony,
