Sax and piano is excelent, but there´s a problem on the rhythm section, especially on the drummer. He doesn´t play fine jazz yet. Too much bass drum, and the swing feel looks like country music, not Jazz. Ask the drummer to listen and incorporate the REAL jazz drum feel. listen to Dennis Chambers, Buddy Rich, and so on... but yes... sax is fine, dude!

What reed are you using? I've been using an NY Bros Meyer but I just can't get my lakey to sound or play comfortably. I've tried some Vandoren Java & V16 2.5s... maybe I should try a 2?

Any input would help me out. Great playing by the way, I can't believe I didn't know about Phil Woods until recently... all these years listening to the Bird.

errr i use vandoren ZZ's supposed "jazz" ones size 3... I love em on my lakey but sometimes you'll get the occasional "bad" reed.

I wouldn't size down for comfort. Find the most open reed you can get that you think you'll be able to play without blowing your chops to quick. My ZZ 3's were a little bit bigger than the JAVA 3s i used for a few years but i adjusted quick and got a 10x as good sound.. Plus the super balanced makes everything 10 times as good and easy heh
