one question for those who say this bukhari hadith refers to tahhajjud and they are different prayers

we all agree this only one witr prayer in a night?? then for eg. how can one pray witr with taraaweeh (20 +3 ) and then witr again later on in tahajjud. (8+3).

Zakir Sb you are talking about Tahajud, 8 rakat each of 2x4=8 and 2 of namaz e Shafa and one wittar. So this is explanation of Tahajud.

No taraveeh has been offered by our beloved Prophet SAW as most of the muslims are offering these days. This Taraveh was Started by Hazrat Umer. Please clear between taraveh and Tahajud.

Qiyaamul Lail is NOT Taraaweeh.. Qiyaamul is Tahajjud Salaah.That is why 'Aayesha R.A said" Prophet SAW offered not more than 11 Rakaah(2+2+2+2+3- Tahajjud 8 rakaah + Witr 3 Rakaah) even other than month of Ramadhaan.

Taraaweeh is only in the month of Ramadhaan as every one know, whic is prayed soon after 'Eesha Salaah and Tahajjud is night pray -its called Qiyaamul Lail which prophet S.A .W prayed after a night sleep and before day break.

The Prophet (SAWW) sed in a sahih hadith that there will be 73 sects in my ummah and only 1 will be on the right who will follow me and my sahaba (RA), As far as taraweeh are concerned Hazrat Umer (RA) with the consent of all sahaba (RA) of the time including Uthman, Ali, Abdur Rehman bin ghouff, Abdullah ibn e masud, ibn e umer and badri sahaba agreed (ijma) and since that day it 20 in makkah and madina. i think the ijma of all the sahaba of the time is what WE SHOULD FOLLOW. wALLAH o Aalam

A COMPLETE LIE. I'm not that knowledgeable ( Allah knows better). But I fell taraveh is 20 rakat as that is been done at Makkah. Ofcourse its upto every individual what he wants to practise. But these Ahele-Hadees people (including Dr. Naik) should stop propagating this 8 rakat taraveh. It will only increse the hatred of people against Dr. Naik & Ahele-Hadess people which is already accumulating among others Muslims

@mhfakih : If you are not knowledgeable about deen then how could you make comments about it? It is similar like you are not a doctor but write prescription to patients. Please listen to his full lecture. He has clearly mentioned that Prophet Mohammad SAW, never prayed more than 8 Rakah of Tahajjud prayer. Just because you see one fiqh is being followed doesn't negate the other fiqh. Please be very careful while making any comments about deen.

@kakadaniel420 Nowadays when ever there is a different opinion we are so fast at saying there will be 72 sects, thats like saying indirectly his a kafir, thats a major problem 4 the ummah & plus its haram. There is a fine line between a muslim & a kafir, the sects what wil come go as time passes wil b noticeable. Like the kadyanis, they accept their imam was a prophet which Allah sent, this automatically makes them a kafir. Our belief in Allah and quran is the same,but we have differ on hadith.

taraveeh actually is a plural and means more than two rests so 8 can not be taraveeh because it makes two rests and two is not considered plural coz plural for two is different in arabic

the hadith qouted by Zakir Naik is about tahhajud. He sed himself that the hadith in abu daud is weak (zwagheef) but ALBANI has sed its SAHIH..... now i dont follow ALBANI, i follow the writter of Abu Daud more than ALBANI who is more authentic and more a scholar than ALBANI. Dr Zakir naik is a blind follower of ALBANI and albani has written only 489 chapters in his sharah of bukhari whereas the real number of chapters are 540 plus. sahaba prayed 20 and we should follow sahabas

In Makkah and Madina 20 Rikats are offered for showing Muslim unity, Because to them 20 Rikat or 8 Rikat doesnt matter, the time matter, but for Muslims in Pakistan or |India and someother places 20 Rikat is must, and During Ramazan theres high volume of people comming from abroad. So for them to feel ok, its 20 Rikat.
