  • great

  • Is it only me, or does ruby seems like it isn't made to render 3D graphics? XD

  • @TheTwB2Frager : the framerate was awful because my computer I had that time was not able to capture correctly. But you're quite true : Ruby is slow for 3D. For a game using sprites, it can do it if there aren't too many polygons.

  • it's amazing

  • if you want to do a cheap/easy 3d game, try the existing (free open source) irrlicht or ogre engines... they can be customized to most game types

  • I'm using Ruby programing language in this video, but I've been using C and C++ before. To make a 2D program, you can of course start with SDL, which is really easy to learn and use.

But if you want to add a dimension, to make a 3D game, you also will have to learn a bit about OpenGL. OpenGL can be used in a SDL environnement, for the Window opening and events, also to load a texture, so that you can reuse what you've learned before, which as a programmer should really make you happy ! :)

  • thats awesome! hey ive gotten a pretty good hang on c++ ive even got some vids here, theyre all text based programs though, but do you think i should start doing graphics with SDL now? because in c++ i can do classes, vectors arrays, iterate, you name it do you think thats enough to move onto graphics?

  • as solidboko said SDL is very easy to learn.. just do a google search for SDL

  • They sort of looked fat. lol

    Nice job!

  • great job!

  • Trop bien fait !
