its compulsory at most large sporting events that only vocals are live, no instruments. I know for a fact that this was the case on this occasion. At the end of the day if your offered a couple hundred grand to play at the AFL grand final, you'd be a goose to turn it down, as if thats not a bit of a dream come true for a melbournian? If you look at any clip on youtube, its easy to see jet can play live, whether one likes em or not.

most bands, even when the audience is right in front of them, will stil be mic'd up to a PA system. This esures the sound from the amps and drummer is distributed evenly throughout the venue. It also allows a cearer tone from the amps than if they were just running independently.

Jet chose to perform to a backing track but they couldn't have truely performed live, just the vocals. This is why AC/DC have always refused to play the G-F, cause they won't play to a backing track...

If the PA is so great then why don't the acts there use it and why don't they hold concerts there? Do you think Jet can't play live?
