There is a fun book that teaches u how u impress your friends like that... setup the cube (not random) and just memorize something like this

just like card players count cards, i think he counts the number of move he needs to make based on what he memorizes in the beginning. solving a rubiks cube takes algorithms and i think he knows how much moves it takes to solve it when he looks at it. hard part is knowing what pieces go where when he moves them. this is just what im guessing. i dont know how to solve a rubiks cube. but im guessing this is what he did.

Rubric Cubes dont have a trick, there is a method buut the method isnt the samen and he wasnt memorizing, he was simply positioning his hand in a way that it would be easy to solve one side of the cube then work on the others, rubric cubes have many methods one them but knowing where each individual peice went is just amazing.

he wasnt looking at it. theres a trick to solving a rubrics cube.. although i cant remember it. if u memorize the trick, solving one wont be too hard. he was memorizing the rubrics cube at the beginning before he blindfolded himself, then during the solving process, he kept pausing to remember the trick. still it was pretty cool =)
