My only beef about this case is that the 3.5 bay that is designed to be external has no where on the front panel to poke out of. Sure, you can mod it in, but, oh well.

Just a tip, if you want a clear side for this case, but dont wanna DIY, they sell the clear side for the Alpha case for like $15 through NZXT. Its a clossy black instead of flat like the beta, but you hardly notice.

Oh, and props to all the case makers that are putting the psu on the bottom now.

The NZXT Beta Evo is basically the same thing accept the removable side panel fan places are vertical and the PSU can be mounted on the bottom instead of top which is better IMO.

@craziii3 The Beta Evo is much better, because the PSU goes on the bottom instead of the top on the Evo. The Beta also has a large opening behind the CPU socket, so that it makes it easier to install water cooling.

yea i get decent temps. my room is not air conditioned and i get 45C idle coming off an overclocked e5200 45nm processor with stock hsf. my gfx card goes to about 62 on full load with medium fan speed

That's my setup and i will be modding the case soon to have an exhaust fan at the top over the RAM just behind the 5.25 drive bay area.

your fans have arrows at the side indicating airflow and rotation. just look on the side body of your fans for little arrows and you'll see. i wanted to put a fan in the 5.25 drive area too but i think a top exhaust fan makes more sense than to have another fan intaking from the front.

it really depends on alot of factors. and it really doesn't mater which. you can do whichever you want since it's impossible to strike a balance.

i prefer negative pressure (more exhaust) to get rid of the heat in the case.

GO GO GO!! i'mmodding mine too. wanna make a mount for 92mm,120mm and 80mm fans at the top of the case for a nice exhaust over my RAM. I stick my hand in there and i can feel a pocket of heat just in front of the PSU. I overclock so i need at least good airflow since i'm not watercooling ...as yet.

I have this case, Its great. It fit my ATI 4850from asus perfect. I used the cable management without a hitch. The tooless drives only speeded up the hole process. I did drill a hole beside the top side panel 120mm hole to route a fan cable from the outside to the inside. I did this because my CPU COOLER was to large to fit the fan inside, I also did this on the back fan as I have a back plate cooler for my 4850 from thermalright. I could go on. This case is the best for the money I've seen.

Thing's I'd do:

- Drill and grommet a few more holes for cable management.

-Add a nice quiet 120mm to the back.

-Put a nice large window on the side panel or either line the panel with acoustic foam.

-Line the bottom with foam (just regular black foam)

Modding out the side with a very large window would really make this case shine. Also, the addition of acoustic foam on the side and a quiet 120mm exhaust could complete the equation to a very quiet case.
