This is a neat idea. On the technical side it's probably not too hard (keeping track of projected shadow geometry for collision?), but the interesting part is the game design side of things. Hope to see more.

seems like sony devs watched this video, they are using a very similar method with light, shadow, and perspective in echocrome 2.

The funny rattles are because the show was in Japan, which tends to be more open with fun and silly things than we are. Just look at their game shows!
