  • Went and saw them high and dry tour all their warm up music was AC/DC I knew I was at the right show that day for sure ! they totaly rocked :)

  • This is really good:) Rip Steve, in our hearts you'll play<3

  • Epic compilation

  • Let me tell you why Def Lep - High And Dry is one of the best recordings of all time:

They were all drunken teenagers who had no idea how insanely talented they were. And ended up making one of the rawest and heaviest rock CDs in the vein of AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. Totally raw, uncut, and unrelenting - thats High And Dry.

  • RIP Steve, the best guitarist ever, never forgotten.

  • For me the best instrumental song ever!!! Thanks Steve!!!

  • mi maestro steve

  • Rip. \m/

  • RIP steve:(

  • RIP Steve.

  • RIP Steve. The world lost an incredible musician 21 years ago.

  • R.I.P. greatest guitarist ever..

  • I LOVE YOU TO DEATH STEVE! 21 YEARS TODAY SINCE YOUR LIFE WAS TAKEN FROM US... R.I.P. MY SWEET ANGEL... LIKE THIS IF YOU MISS STEVE CLARK

  • I LOVE YOU STEVE! TOMORROW IT WILL BE 21 YEARS SINCE YOU DIED! I know you're watching us up there... R.I.P. My Sweet Angel, White Lightning <3333

  • Those stage moves...just amazing

  • greatest guitarist of all time his riffs will live on

  • great work

  • those 9 thumb-downers, have no souls

  • This video changed my life.

  • ... to save them from the evil days to come.

  • love this one. great tune !

  • Out of all the music out there, if I have to pick one jam to take into the here after with me for all eternity, its going to have to be this one. Nearly 30 years ive been rocking to this, too many GREAT FUCKING TIMES to list. Nine people don't like this?? To you nine lost souls I recommend you listen to this ten or twenty thousand more times and then reform your opinion. Check out BamaKatt's live version of this. Its the best there is.

  • Steve's moves on stage were as cool as fuck.

  • Steve Clark was, and always will be Def Leppaerd's best guitarist ever! U rock!!!

  • FOREVER THE BEST PLAY GUITAR!!! I ME HUBIERA GUSTADO MUCHO HABER IDO A UNO DE SUS CONCIERTOS, LASTIMA NO ME TOCO ESA EPOCA AUN ERA MUY NIÑA, ESPERO REGRESE DEF LEPPAR A MEXICO Y ENTONCES SI AHI ESTAREMOS!!!!

  • wish we could see him play now instead of only the past, so glad for video's and youtube!! funny how you can miss someone you never even knew, how it can sadden your heart to watch them and know they are gone

  • With Steve Clark, Def Leppard thrived. Without him, they've merely survived.

  • I always dreamed of going to a Def Leppard concert. Now that I got the chance Steve has been long gone. Steve you were always my favorite.

  • Love this song.

  • Steve was the person that attached me to Def leppard, now I always feel he is missing.

  • I still have the fucking VHS tape about them.

Man i was so little when i saw this part, I almost cried =[

  • Sooooo under-rated! Steve "Steamin"Clark! RIP Bro!

  • These guys left their egos and made one of the greatest bands ever. All they wanted to do was please the crowd and steve was awesome at it. It is so easy to see how much they love each other. Its nice to have a desire to make great music, but a dream to do it with people you love. RIP Steve Clark.

  • i listen to this song every day, 20-30 times.

  • This puts tears in my eyes. Rip Def Lep all you want, but this guy was the Jimmy Page of the 1980s. Such a melodic, soulful and powerful legend. His notes were always chosen and played from the heart. And what a terrific showman. He lived for nothing other than his music. This band died when he died, as far as I'm concerned. I love Viv Campbells's Dio days, but as for Def Lep, he is no Steve Clark. No one will ever be. RIP Riffmaster!

  • This is one of the most amazing pieces of work ever, this should have ..RADIO PLAY??.........long live the Riffmaster!!

  • @steamin88 in my city they do play this song, usually after they play bringing on the heartbreak they continue into switch 625 just like the album does. which is awesome.

  • this tune just rocks==everytime i listen to it == for over 20 years

  • @totallylate Totally agree... I've been listening to this tune since I was 13, and now over 20 years later, it still rocks!

  • This is my favorite guitar player, he died at 30 years old from cigarettes. THIRTY. I guess... I just never thought of 15 as "middle aged".

  • @RonnieJamesDio12345 He didn't die from cigarettes. He died from an OD of codeine, valium, morphine, and a huge blood alcohol content (0.30).

  • Song and Emotion by Tesla is also fantastic. Tesla toured with Def Leppard all the time and when Steve died they did a tribute. I am 15 by the way and can't stand this new age crap with screamo etc.

  • master steve, you are the inspiration of my hands, and the fire of my guitar.. we miss you from Chile !

  • Just listening to this tribute brought tears to my eyes. R.I.P, Steve Clark. You have been greatly missed, but never forgotten.

  • R.I.P Steve!

  • 7 ppl will go to hell!

  • Steve Clark. One of my fave guitarists! They played this 06-25-11 in Virginia Beach. I was there to hear it and feel it TOTALLY KICK MY ASS! The palm muted power chords will shake your freakin bones!

  • @DavidAngelesTiangco i was there at Farm Bureau Live.....and i don't remember them playing this...

  • @defleppardforever100 I clearly remember it because Joe wasn't singing and they played it extra heavy.

  • @scoobydoolover14 And Pete Willis and Phil Collen

  • @scoobydoolover14 dude gutiar hero's dead.

  • The most classic riffs... EVER. Stage presence... Song writing. Etc etc... I cannot truly describe how much I hate the disease of addiction... It takes the greatest of them all... ALL of rock and roll is changed forever by his works... God rest his tortured but talented soul...

  • one of the MOST under rated players EVER

  • RIP Steve! Ur legacy will live on 4ever! u rock!!!!!!!

  • *themesong x)

  • They should change the name of this song to ''Steve's Themsong''

  • indudable unos de los mejores musicos de la epoca .argentina

  • Thumbs up if he is awesome and hot.

  • STEVE FOREVER I LOVE YOU STEVE MAYNARD CLARK

  • I remember when he passed away I was shocked and sad.

  • i really love def leppard ( in the 80's)

but their music today is just a crap i think that steve where their secret weapon

  • I would like to know how anybody could possibly dislike this. To them i say,go consummate yourselves! All six of you!

  • One of the best guitarists of all time. Miss you Steve.

  • UNO DE LOS MEJORES DE PASTO -COLOMBIA

  • The TRUE metal part of Def Leppard.

  • I never realised it at the time, but I lived through one of the greatest eras of Rock in the 70's & 80's. Meet the band in 81 when my mate supported them @ Hammy Palais.

"High & Dry" works on so many levels & is a truly great album. I think the band lost their edge when they hit big in the States & sold out a bit to that West Coast sound.

I heard an interview with Joe Elliot a while back when he said that the band where influenced a lot by Bowie!

Good to see Steve rightly remembered!

  • This is a fantastic tribute to Steve Clark. Many thanks for posting it! He isn't forgotten by many long-time fans.

  • Steve my biggest inspiration playing the guitar. Amazing.

Maybe if Steve wouldn't have died, Def Leppard could have became the biggest band of all time. Maybe we wouldn't have bieber we would still have people making real music. R.I.P Steve Clark. This is a masterpiece.

  • RIP Steamin"!!!

  • R.I.P. Steve

  • This music is simply Amazing.. You compare this with artists such as Rihanna and jay z.. well i don't have nothing against them but i Think this style of music awakes you feelings that the most of the junk today doesn't awake..

(Note: Compare the likes and dislikes of this music and pop bands likes and dislikes LOL)

    RIP STEVE CLARK

  • Steve Clark Ronnie James Dio John Lennon John Bonham Gar Samuelson Dimebag Darrel Bon Scott Kurt Cobain Randy Rhoads Steve Ray Keith Moon Sid Vicious Freddie Mercury Keith Relf Duane Alman Brian Jones Jeff Porcaro R.I.P ;(
  • @TrafficMind10 Sid Vicious and Kurt Cobain doesn't matter.

Kurt Cobain > Nirvana > Grunge and Grunge killed rock music in the 90s and caused bands like (for example) Def Leppard to loose a lot of fans.

I saw Sid Vicious in 1977 in Holland in Maasbree, his amp was on but the only song he knew how to play was God Save The Queen, and only the main part (not the fills between the chorus) so remove those names and lets add Gary Moore and Eric Carr!!!

  • Damn dude, I'm here crying my eyes out because of Steve. Man if we still had him..

  • We will always remember Steve Clark . I think too, Def Leppard is not the same without the Razor. He will always live in our hearts.

Def Leppard любят и слушают и в России.

From Russia with love and sadness.

  • Not to take anything away from Vivian Campbell but Def Leppard is definitely not the same without Steamin' Steve Clark

  • We can't change shit. But that you for changing me. RIP!

  • watching this makes me wish i could change things, if i could give steve clarke his life back in exchange for mine you'd probably all be alot happier ^^ hes a legend and i wish i could be i tiny bit as talented as he was god bless you mate rip

  • is this the tribute from the visualize/video archive dvd?

  • @csavoy1 Yes.

  • I never forget Steve, he really rocks, thats riffs make stream my soul!!!

  • Steve Clark....Love u 4ever....keep on rockin my life!!!

I always heard my dad listen to this song and your other songs... you were simply the best and never would be replaced!! Much love... and i'll see you oneday

  • Not only the Riffmaster, but Riff God. Steve Clark was a guitarist that came as best as a guitarists came. He didn't waste anything as he gave it his all during every live performance. He came up with so many original riffs and the fact that there's an instrumental based on a 3-note riff is just pure brilliance. He earned the name Steamin' , The Riff(God)master and The White Lightning. Switch 625 should have been included in Vault.

  • 1991... the year we lost many genius people; Steve Clark, Eric Carr & Freddie Mercury.. god bless their souls =(

  • @larsnoorman

God 1991...it's been that long? Wow, the years go by way too fast!

  • @sanderella yes indeed =(

  • AWESOME riff from an AWESOME guitarist who will be forever missed!!! LOVE YOU, STEVE!!!

  • Steve Clark is a true guitar legend and he'll live forever...

In my heart...I love you Steve<3

  • I really miss him so much at least we will remember him by the kick-ass rockin riffs and for the dislikes you guys are nuts! how on earth could you not love the awesome riffs he plays. It's all about him (something to keep us in our hearts) R.I.P White Lighting

  • So many comments for Steve Clark are unique but for me he is

A British beauty,A true Blond, and a kick-ass guitarist until his death in 91 forever he will always be White Lighting or Steamin to us (can't wait to celebrate his death and birth of him also) U ROCK STEAMIN we'll never forget you

  • This clip is a great tribute. What a guitarist and showman.

    RIP Steve Clark.

  • Steve clark is my biggest inspiration

i wanna be just like that guy hes my idol

  • Replete with emotion and power. Seriously impressive.

  • Esto es Def Leppard....from Mexico....Puebla...Teziutlan....

  • wherever he is, Steve is always going among the best there is!

  • Why spend you're whole life waiting for someone to say their proud of you? Because, those words may mean the world to someone </3.

  • When Steve died there was no more Def Leppard. Leppard should have realized Steve Clark was unreplaceable. Steve was the heart of Leppard, when you take away the heart the soul goes with it. We miss you Riff Master Clark.

  • My life has changed since the day when I watched this for the first time. And it still changes for better. Thank You Steve! Rest In Peace, Riffmaster, You will never be forgotten...

  • Steve was one of the best guitar players out there, he gave Def Leppard there real sound, He will always be remembered. R.I.P

  • He lived to play live!

  • @thunderdeed

Actually quite the contrary. Steve was very nervous about performing on stage. Joe Elliott tells a story about Steve trying to break his fingers on a marble sink so he wouldn't have to go on stage. Apparently he was fine after getting out there but walking out initially was a struggle.

  • @Jacksonpc1 Yes I,ve heard that story about Steve but I believe that was an one time event .

  • He will always be young. He will always be loved. Rest In Peace Steve! Amen.

  • great instrumental, fucking great

  • MUSIC genial d'un album superbe remenber 81!!!

  • Alcohol sucks ... in 88 he looked 10 years older than the rest of the band..

He will always be rembered as an amazing guitarist and dancer (xD)

May his soul rock in peace

  • he will live forever for me. he is beautiful....

  • Comment removed

  • they should have released more instrumentals!!

  • We miss you Steve. RIP.

  • at 0:52 what video is that??

  • love this song!!!!!!

  • wow... a rare def leppard instrumental (barring the "ooh"s and "aah"s, that is)

  • Def Leppard, Guns n Roses, & Metallica, even Motley Crue, Scorpions, ACDC, & Whitesnake were the original Heavy Metal gods and they still would rock today and do everytime I hear their music! The only 80 Hair bands that lost their way were all the want to be's pop heavy metal bands... complete and total copy cat posers...which is why they had the back lash ...I have listened to Def Leppard since High n Dry...just wish they would cave so I could buy it for my I-pod

  • @jodyronning

What happened to Black Sabbath? ;P

  • R.I.P The riffmaster steve clark!

  • Classic rockage!! One of my all-time favorites. Let It Go right after this song made me rock all night ! Couldn't get enough. Def Leppard Rules!!!!

  • your the best bro RIP

  • Reminds me of another great guitarist who died young. Almost 10 years from each other. RIP, Steve and Randy.

  • who was the 6 losers that put dislike on this video??

  • R.I.P Steve

  • As I mentioned on your Last.fm profile page, this video really changed my life.

  • I've been a Leppard since 1980 and I'm going to say from the
