@twistedyogert I do strongly suggest leaving the engine a 50cc for reliability. You can adjust the other things like the clutch, get a larger diameter variator, clutch springs and others to make it accelerate faster. You just won't have the top speed. Very reliable in it's 50cc form though.

I found sumthin that helps to derestrict these mopeds even more. Obviously taking the speed limiting washer is 1, but my new moped also had this metal backing plate that looks like (but it's not) its made to hold the variator together. Which it does, but when I went to clean the variator, I seen wear marks only half way up the drive face. The plate had 2 go. But you can also remove the washer behind the nut that holds the variator in place. This gives the variator more room to open and close.
@peugteobike in indiana, you have to stay under 3 requirements in order to ride without one, 1) 2hp or less, 2) 25mph or less, 3) less than 50cc's. if your moped breaks any one of these limits, you need a motorcycle endorsement, insurance, and everything else a regular motorcycle would. under 18 need a helmet no matter what
@alijama61 in indiana, you need a valid id, thats it. no license at all needed. only thing is, to be able to do +25mph legally, you need a motorcycle license
@kamich56 im sure your moped is faster with nitrous as everything would be. im just wanting to keep my waist attached to my body and not blown off from having nitrous in my pocket. EPIC FAIL!!!
@clucasrob85 nitrous bottle is only 16 gram it will not blow off least your hand is 70C , i use it all the time, and my scooter still works and it gives 2hp, for a scooter that has 3hp, aditional 2 i alot!!! dont need to wory, it is easy to instal and you can use it by pressing 1 button. @kamich56 yeah, i can run my moped at top speed with the bore kit which is like 55mph with a few adjustments of the cvt for a few hours straight or until i run out of gas. how long does the bottle last if you were to hold it for as long as you could to keep to speed up as long as you could?
@clucasrob85 1 bottle 2 minutes, 1 bottle costs 1$, i dont need a bore kit to make 55mph, you just need to get rid of sone blockings in your scooter for free!!! boost bottle and nitrous bottle is best :D

@Denmarkfree what do you have then? a 3 liter drag scooter running the wrong springs so you have to hold the brake down really hard to stay still? no moped idles and hits 40 mph. if it did, it most likely has a bad setup. no one wants to smash the brakes while sitting at idle just to stay put. you must have a real bad tune and/or setup if your doing 40 at idle. and stop texting crap on youtube. go wave a gun at the police
@TheZampa95 actually no. honestly. my 4stroke is a lot faster than a stock 2stroke. i hav a friend that has a 90cc 2 stroke that i could keep up with him from a launch. his had no limit so he could go a higher top end though.
@Patrickdrums6732 I sold it for $500. But if you are lookin to build one, I suggest getting a two-stroke, but if you must have 4-stroke, do other upgrades first. My video with the 60cc kit has a reply with the list of upgrades you should do if you get a 4-stroke. 50cc 2-strokes are faster and handle upgrades better.
@clucasrob85 Well for right now I'm trying to find a moped to get from home to work, and next year home to school. But I'm honestly considering just getting a motorcycle permit (I'm in MD) because I believe you don't have to attend a drivers school for the permit, and you get to basically ride the motorcycle(or moped) like a car (I mean w/o supervision) only thing is you can't drive at night. And a moped/motorcycle is looking appealing because they get such AMAZING mpg. Well mopeds do atleast...
@Patrickdrums6732 If you get one you will be happier with a 2-stroke unless you get a 125cc or bigger. I wouldn't get a 4-stroke 50cc again if I could help it.
@wateromega actually I looked more into it and you don't need a motorcycle permit if you've already got your car license, you can just go take the safety coarse and the written and driving test and you're good to go. It overall takes about a week.
How are these machines as far as reliability is concerned? Do they break down a lot. If I could buy a moped I won't need a car.
