  • He's not saying that LeBron is as good as Steve Nash when passing, but LeBron typically handled the ball in Cleveland, so, like Steve Nash, he would be handling the ball.

  • Fuck the cavs

  • His point about LeBron is that he will suck up more defensive attention than Steve Nash will, because he is a great scorer. He's not saying he's a better passer than Steve Nash. Because the defense wants to pay close attention to LeBron, chances are Amare's roll will be less guarded if he's playing with LeBron...But obviously none of this is possible now.

  • stupied white boy he aint going there dum as

  • Steve Nash- One Of The Greatest Passers Ever

Lebron James- a player who gets double teamed alott and passes of to one of the many great 3 point shots on his team

  • He's defense has gotten way better than u think it is and offense is AAAMAZING

  • this why the suns lost on lakers!! amare did not rebound

  • @mmja05 c'mon dude, amare scores 40pts against the lakers..

  • KNICKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • too bad Amare is signing with the Knicks !

  • Greatest pick 'n roll duo since Stockton/Malone

  • I am a lifelong Suns fan and really hope we keep Amare, but this video is retarded. While every other offensive aspect of his game has matured and blossomed, his hands are significantly worse than they used to be (some say it has something to do with blind spots from his goggles) so to say he is one of the best catching the ball is dumb. And he gets most of his points in the post, but he has ZERO back to the basket game.

and ROFL@ comparing Lebron's passing to Steve Nash's

  • Your so stupid the whole point of their offence to outscore the other team, it's not his d, it's their entire teams defence. They run and gun.

Steve nash is a better passer than lebronjames and what make you think Amare would be guarding Lewis the same way or if that would be his check?

Sorry your shit got me angry

  • fuck the cavs the suns are owning right now

  • u obviously dont watch amare..hes been reboundin likka monster and plays pretty good defense since the all star break..which is y the phoenix suns are 18-4 since the break

  • agreed..he is no steve nash man haha stupid video

  • Amar'e should start rebounding more and pretend to play defense.

  • Also, you are breaking down a game where they killed the kings. Of course he isn't going to care if his guy beats him for 30 or get a couple of rebounds if they are going to easily win.

  • 1) you don't win a NBA game easily

    2) and you sure wont if you play D like Amare. He has the potential to do it, but somhow he doesnt.

  • This guy is an idiot. Or maybe to be fair he just says things that doesn't make sense. first thing that has already been pt out, Steve Nash is a way better passer than Lebron, though still a decent passer. The other, "if Jeff Green was Rashard Lewis..." but he is not, that is why you play people differently, give jeff green the jump shot, not the open lane. Granted he isn't the best defender, but your commentary just makes me feel angry that you are talking like you know something.

  • it's kind of cool that each player has a different style. Nash has the long hair, stoudemire has the clear shades and chris bosh has the rolly polly hair.

  • LOL rolly polly hair hahahaha

  • Lebron is NO steve nash

  • you guys rule.never thought of the game in this way..so much strategy..the players movement and all that..keep up the good work..i subscrive

  • you guys are very insightful and unbiased. i like

  • If Amare went to Cleveland, Mike Brown would make him into a defensive player, I mean look at LeBron a few years back. Compared to now is immense.

  • amare would've been better. jamison is a fine player but he turns 34 this year and makes too much money. the sheer offensive power of amare + lebron = dynasty.

jamison + lebron = maybe 2010 champs, and then a middle aged high-priced core of a big thre with lbj and mo will.

  • dynasty, the lakers have adynasty with gasol, bynum, and kobe, and odom, amare dont play d and u need to play d

  • well becAUSE PHX DOSENT PLAY DEFENSE DUH . i MEAN AMARE REALLY ISNT A THATBAD DEFENDER . yOU ARE ONLY SAYING THAT BECAUSE POPULAR BELIEF , BUT NOT 100 PERCENT FACTUAL .PUT ANY POWER FORWARD ANY THE PHX SYSTEM AND THEY WILL NOT BE A GREAT DEFENDER LOL .iF AMARE WAS ON THE CAVS THEY WOULD BE 2010 CHAMPS WITH NO QUESTION . HE IS THE BEST MID RANGE SHOOTING PF AND THE MOST EXPLOSIVE ATHELIC POWER FOWARD . THE MOST PROLIFIC SCORER ALSO .CLEVLAND MADE A BIG MISTAKE . THEY WANT TO BE IMPATIENT

  • @ryanr20091 champs ? i dont think so, he proved he cant play with Shaq, he (amare) struggles against size & length, like la has, they wouldnt even compete

  • it wasn't cleveland's fault. phx wanted to get someone in return, preferably jj hickson, but cavs wasn't willing to giveaway ther young product.

  • hey bud if u keep watching the SUNS, then you will REGRET saying amare cant play D

  • But the problem is that both will be contesting for whos da best and next thing ya know, theres incorropertive players. im just saying though

  • I like this video. I am learning a lot more than just watching like an idiot.

  • I agree with you, but . . . these points could be used with most centers/ power forwards. A'mare's best strength for his team is the fact that he can box out effectively even when he is not in the center positions. He could be a great compliment to a true big man like Shaq, Dwight and such centers.

  • haha the cavs just picked up jamison today!!! im so happpy!!!!!!!! CAV NATION NIGGA!

  • JAMISON CAN ONLY SHOOT THREES WHAT ELSE CAN HE DO IF HE ISNT MAKING THEM . THATS THE PROBLEM WITH THREEPOINTSHOOTING . ITS LIKE CHARLES BARKLEY SAID YOU DONT LIVE BY THREES YOU ONLY DIE BY THEM . IF YOU ARE A POWER FORWARD YOUR JOB ISNT TOO MAKE THREES . I NEVER LIKED BIG MAN WHO SHOOT THREES . IT DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF A POWER FOWARD . i THINK AMARE IS THE BEST PROTYPICAL POWER FORWARD IN THE GAME TODAY . CAVS SHOULD HAVE DEFINITELY WENT WITH AMARE . JAMISON ISNT A SURE BET . AMARE IS

  • @ryanr20091 pls stop with the caps. and haa haa haa at amare being the best prototypical power forward, i always thought that big men should also be able to defend...

  • @teeooamamii As a matter of fact, any player at any position should be able to defend. =.=

  • subbed. like crippenfalyfe said, you really know what youre talking bout.

  • Great job on this vid. Very objective. Very true.

  • Amare in Cleveland was A dream for me... And it will continue to be ;/

  • haha too bad clev did get him suck on that lechoke

  • Antawn Jamison........nothing more needs to be said. He fits better into Cleveland's offensive and defensive scheme's. He plays better defense and gives you almost as many points and rebounds per game. Cleveland got who they wanted all along......See you in the finals!

  • any exposure for the Kings is good exposure...i think

  • pheonix was dominating most of the game, although you have great analysis, show a competitive game to the end

  • great video

  • sub'd... you know what your talkin about

  • thats just the kings

  • 2:03 amar'e traveled..... his left foot was the pivot then he lifted it up....

  • @ich3ro cuz he got rid of the ball...?

  • eventhough he bounced the ball? this ain't international rules son.

  • Nice analysis

  • "this would now be Lebron James"

I stopped watching after that. James is a fantastic passer, but he is NOT a Steve Nash.

Shows you how much BasketballBreakdowns knows about the game.

  • too true. that the point i shook my head and pressed the back button

  • @HXMbamwam- LBJ is one of the best passers the league has seen. You are misinformed.

  • @aruwenner bro lebron is only a good passer because he aattracts so much attention and hits up the open man on the other hand steve nash doesnt need to attract atttention to make the right choice and pass

  • @aruwenner He is a great not one of the best.

  • no this dude sucks, lebron sucks. Kobe ftw

  • great breakdown

  • nash plays for his team... lebron plays for his self

  • @Scrol1

Lebron plays for himself? He averages 8.3 assists per game and hes a forward. What does that tell you?

  • fake

  • def win championship not offense

  • jason maxiell owns lebron

  • if you dont think that the cavs are 100% lebron then ur a fucking moron... they were one of the nba's most embarassing franchises' b4 lebron and are now a top contender... just do position matchups with the lakers and see how much more talent kobe has to work with than the bum squad that lebron is carrying on his back

  • man, i wish they had videos like this for baseball.

  • BasketballBreakdowns, keep these good videos coming into youtube.

  • i hope AC1 goes 2 the wizards and takes the subsitute of Brendan Haywood....cavs dont really need him but most likely they will get him

  • Good analysis, I just want to add that "offense sells tickets, defense wins championships." I hope Cavs know what they are doing...go Lakers :P

  • Stoppable... Rotate the PG on Amar'e. If Amar'e tries to post up, send a double team. Thats what the good teams do.... the Kings suck so I don't know why you use them as an example.

  • @ldc62 - except that leaves Nash(or Lebron if it happens) to isolate the opposing team's big man. That's particularly dangerous because both of those guys are probably the best combination of getting to the basket and passing skills. The best way to stop it is to bring over the wing defender to help defend the cut/pop while Amare's man recovers...and give a streaky shooter a wide open 3 at the wing.

  • Yes I realize that. But the best that you can do is to try to contest Nash or Lebron. Its a better option than giving up a 3 on the side or let Amare slam it in. Of course, its more complicated than what I am stating... teams often throw different looks, but IMO what I suggested is the best option.

  • @ldc62 - difference in strategy I guess. I would rather have the streaky Mo Williams/Jason Richarsons of the world beat me on the backside than letting Lebron/Nash break my back. I mean isn't that why Cleveland wants another player to pair with Lebron - because no one on that roster is reliable? I dont know what the stats are, but I'm sure Lebron or Nash on the opposing team's big or Amare on the opposing team's PG are both relatively high opportunities to score.

  • they are inconsistent, but they are reliable. it might not be the same guy helping out every night, but between the other 11 guys on the cavs, some one helps lebron get the job done. they have a really good bench and some great shooters

  • Cleveland has won 13 in a row correct? So its not like their team is 100% lebron... maybe just 50%. But switching IMO works best.

  • this is great 5/5

  • Nice analysis. I'd love to see more of these.

  • Good stuff here, hope to see some more on other players. Keep it up.

  • Nice analysis, but your video basically summed up why I dont like Amare's game. For all the firepower he displays at offense, it is easily negated by his awful D, rebound, and desire.

  • amazing anaylsis so indepth and intice more videos plz love it

  • awesome

  • love the videos... could you do one on why the Bulls offense stagnates due to a lack of outside shooters?

  • Top notch video. I do have one problem with this video. You chose a blow out game. Players get lazy in blow out games like this. The fact that Amare was even in the game was a little surprising. Amare is a much better rebounder and defensive player then JJ. JJ can't box out and gets out rebounded by forwards that are 2-3 inches smaller then he is. Still a very interesting video.

  • awesome vid!!!!

  • Very good stuff.

  • great analysis

  • I love these, and I dont even watch basketball.

    "Very Educational"

  • @Shintroy that doesn't make any sense. Why would someone that doesn't even watch basketball enjoy a video explaining the game deeper.
