All i ever wanted to do was fly the F-15C Eagle in the USAF. And if i was lucky maybe in a mock dogfight against a MiG-29.. Just to see how long i would be able to evade him. To bad all the F-15C's are being replaced with the F-35 and F-22's.. Damn.

The Egptian air force has no MiG-29s or Su-35s yet, but is discuessing the possibility of procuring some.
As for the MiG 1.14- that project has been scrapped. Neither Russia nor Egypt have any interest in the slightest in it, nor do Mikoyan because it's scrapped. Over. Cut. Gone. Dead.
Right now the Egyptian Air Force's main combat aircraft remains the F-16C, which it is still ordering more of- and there is no indication that this will change.
Designed during the Cold War for point-defense, MiG-29 follows the Soviet dogma for a simple, low quality fighter which can be produced in great numbers and it can focus on "closed" dogfights.. It is obsolete. It has short range.. It cant carry much fuel.. It cant carry many weapons.. It has no hope at BVR dogfights.. It has not a good radar and it carry AESA radar..

@musinevg The only fighters that was shot down in Serbia was the EXPERIMENTAL F-117 by an old SA-6 missile.. which means that for some reason the F-117 lost its stealth cover and was easy prey even for old antiair missiles.. The rest of the Western planes were hit by anti-air guns and V-SHORADS.. probably SA-7!! This is the reason that Western fighters prefer to fly at high altitudes and uses laser bombs or cruise missiles to hit targets!!

MiG-29 has very short range and it is vulnerable to new ECM systems or American missiles.. All the countries that use MiG-29 are looking for a replacement.. The Mig 29, The Su27 retired the vaunted F-14 Tomcat. With it's six Aim-54 missle system, It would still not match up against an angry mob of 4th generation Soviet fighters. The Egptian air force has no MiG-29s or Su-35s yet, but is discuessing the possibility of procuring some.
As for the MiG 1.14- that project has been scrapped. Neither Russia nor Egypt have any interest in the slightest in it, nor do Mikoyan because it's scrapped. Over. Cut. Gone. Dead.
Right now the Egyptian Air Force's main combat aircraft remains the F-16C, which it is still ordering more of- and there is no indication that this will change.

Designed during the Cold War for point-defense, MiG-29 follows the Soviet dogma for a simple, low quality fighter which can be produced in great numbers and it can focus on "closed" dogfights.. It is obsolete. It has short range.. It cant carry much fuel.. It cant carry many weapons.. It has no hope at BVR dogfights.. It has not a good radar and it carry AESA radar..

It was Russia and China that stole pieces of the destroyed F-117 to build stealth fighters.. F-177 has no defense equipment and if loose the stealth covering it is easy target for any missile..

@musinevg The only fighters that was shot down in Serbia was the EXPERIMENTAL F-117 by an old SA-6 missile.. which means that for some reason the F-117 lost its stealth cover and was easy prey even for old antiair missiles.. The rest of the Western planes were hit by anti-air guns and V-SHORADS.. probably SA-7!! This is the reason that Western fighters prefer to fly at high altitudes and uses laser bombs or cruise missiles to hit targets!!

MiG-29 has very short range and it is vulnerable to new ECM systems or American missiles.. All the countries that use MiG-29 are looking for a replacement.. Problems in the U.S. with guns in Iraq and Vietnam, M1 downed with old RPG 7, F 177 was shot down in Yugoslavia. When a couple of years ago, TU 160 carried out military exercises in the Atlantic, USA saw this when they way back, when missile fire has passed. In the real war is a disaster. @Militarija Dude -Russian officials admitted that most MiG-29 fighters in the Russian Air Force were incapable of performing combat duties due to poor maintenance. The age of the aircraft was also an important factor as about 70% of the MiGs were considered to be too old to take to the skies. The Russian MiG-29s have not received updates since the collapse of the Soviet Union. This is because the Russian Air Force chose to upgrade the Su-27 and MiG-31 instead just look it up

The entire MiG29 fleet was grounded after the December 5 crash in southern Siberia, where another of the jets had crashed two months earlier. The Mig 29, The Su27 retired the vaunted F-14 Tomcat. With it's six Aim-54 missle system, It would still not match up against an angry mob of 4th generation Soviet fighters. The venerable F-15 built its record against inferior Korean war- Vietnam era fighters. The Su-22, & Mig 23 were in no way capable of surmounting any kind of challenge. As for the Gulf war, & Kosovo victories, PLEASE. Fleeing MiGs against AWACS, & Satellite supported F-15s? Whatever! Air superiority? The F-15 would lose.

@Blkserpent1 The F15 did not make it's name against Korean and Vietnam era fighters. The Mig 23 and Mig 25 went into service after Vietnam (1970). The F15 was developed to counter the Mig 25. Of the 104 F15 kills, 40 of them were against the Mig 23 and Mig 25. You obviously don't know what you are talking about. I can't take your opinion seriously. The Aim-120 can be fired 200 miles away. Mig 29 radar can't see the F15 at that range. The F15 doesn't need Awacs. I guess you don't understand BVR.
