Kumar Shri Sachin Dev Burman (Bengali: শচীন দেব বর্মন; 1 October 1906 - 31 October 1975), also credited as Burman da, Kumar Sachindra Dev Barman, Sachin karta or S. D. Burman, was one of the most famous music composers for Hindi movies and a Bengali singer and composer. His son Rahul Dev Burman also achieved great success as a Bollywood music director in his own right.
Dev was offered his first big break by Ashok Kumar. Kumar spotted Dev hanging around in the studios and picked him as the hero for the Bombay Talkies production, Ziddi, costarring Kamini Kaushal (1948) which became a success. In 1949, Dev turned producer and launched his own company Navketan, which continues to churn out movies.
Dev was born Dharam Dev kundan lal Pishorimal Anand [1] in Gurdaspur district in undivided Punjab to well-to-do advocate Pishorimal Anand. He graduated in English literature from the Government College, Lahore (now in Pakistan). His love for acting made him leave his hometown for the centre of the Hindi film industry, Mumbai. Dev began his career in the military censor office at Churchgate, Mumbai, for a salary of Rs. 160.

They are so together, in resonance. All the moves are so suggestive and yet it's all innocent play to a 11 year ols (which is what I was when I first saw this movie).
No rudeness, no blatant sexual display, black and white, no competer animation, hardly any make-up, no botox, no electronic instruments: only congo drums, castinets and saxophone.

This is one of the most mellow, romantic, sensuous, suggestive song. And that is only the words! S D Burman's music is lilting, calpso style. The voices are well matched, with Kishore being a Dev Anand voice. Asha Bhonsle is sensuous as ever. Dev Anand and Kalpana are so romantic, him winking and her being cute and coy........... God I could go on for ever. The proof of the pudding was that after acting in 2 movies together they married!!
