the manga is actually way better than this. It gives Kai more of a loving character after a couple chapters and soon Yuzuru becomes more understanding of his personality and his background. It's way better, and if you can stomach a little smut ( nothing that graphic though) it's actually a great manga to read ^.^

I get what everyone is saying, I thought it too at first, but then I thought of 3 things: 1. If this were a yaoi or yuri, no one would be complaining, (usually). The reactions would be more along the lines of "Oh, its one of these animes." or "oh yeah!" 2. The mangaka is a women. In my personal experience i've only met 2 female misogynists. Lastly, if the roles were flipped(male honeys and female masters) I doubt there would be a lot of complants, there usually aren't.

Woman actually have HAD a long, long history of being second-class and being abused by their male "superiors." They have been seriously mistreated, misrepresented, and generalized for centuries -- whereas if the roles were reversed, a female master and a male slave, or male male, that is less of the case. Overall, this type of show is a step back into that recent degradation.
