  • Thank You Lady Twenties for that correction as that was the conventional wisdom on Mr Ennis' death.I will always love their collective contribution to the "Sweet Band" or "Mickey Mouse" beautiful music!!

  • Hal Kemp out of UNC that brought so many greats including Kay Kyser.Skinnay Ennis had his life cut short in 1958 as was Kemp"s in 1940 both by fatal auto accidents.Love all of their collective contributions to Big Band-Sweet Band sounds gone but never forgotten!!

  • Skinnay died while choking on food in a Beverly Hills restaurant, not because of an auto accident.

  • Recorded in May 1928, and a "preview" of Kemp's sound in the '30s- the vocal chorus includes Kemp, Saxie Dowell and Skinnay Ennis...
