  • kids these days...

  • lol @ that face in the end.

  • This just reminds me on how much I suck on piano basics. ;_;

  • beautiful beautiful Beautiful! I know this was 5 years ago, but can you tell me about measures 19 and 39? you play b-b-g-c-f-b, but my son's music ("La version d'apres les manuscrits") has b-b-g-b-f-b. also you have a few more embellishments. Did your teacher add them, or was this the version you had? Is that common to have different lines? thank you, we love your video.

  • im pretty sure she is KICKING ASS right now :D !!!! (she did at that time though)

  • Piano PRACTISE? I wonder how she plays for real!

  • dang i play piano and i can probaly learn that but that is really really good for her age

  • Your really good but you need to smile and get into the music! Good job though!

  • WOOOOOOW

  • what is this an emo gathering?

    ...

than i guess im in D:

  • sounds like how i play it!!!!!!

  • I'm definitly a loser.

  • I'm a loser.

  • I've been playing since I was 5 and piano comes naturally to me. the secret is to feel the music, to express an emotion. put some movements in it! engage the audience! still, ur pretty good yay!

  • Wow you blow my mind off !!! Excellent Work! (cute babe but not the point)

  • I feel like a loser too , but not much as you guys , I just play piano for fun, not being so serious to it

  • i toatly feel like a LOSER...

  • 9 seconds in. I realized how much I suck.

  • that was very good but ive been playing piano since i was 6 by self teaching myself and started playing classical....

but here is a tip...EMOTION....you play really good but putting emotion and feeling into your music is a definite MUST...

but you have a great future :]

  • This could play a bit slower with more emotions and more slowing down for your dynamics. Keep on playing. You're talented, but you need more in your music. Good job!

  • I started playing piano at 7 yrs old. You need shoulders at that age, it is hard to produce such a force with your fingers only.

It is not an easy task to play, say, Chopin 2nd Sonata with a 7-year old fingers. Or twelve...

I think we will hear more from this pianist in the future.

  • That was really good for your age but some advice for playing in general would be to use less "chicken wing" motion (that's what my teacher called it) and more rotation at your wrist.

  • Wow! You just got a new fan, Celia!

  • You are playing it very well, but your hand is floppy. Kepp strong knuckles and don't make your hand move with your shoulders but with your wrists. Keep up the good work.

  • You call that practice??? =.=' I think she actually playing it

  • Well, give me a Piano like that at the age of 4 and I'll play it.

    Nothing special here.

  • is this suppose to make me happy? its kind of making me depressed that a 10 year old can play that&i can barely play Franz Schubert Serenade.

  • @shortshorty4456

I agree she's very talented, but you have to have some life experience before you can play anything serious. Her skills are awesome, but there is a huge lack of emotions.

  • hi i like your straightforward approach, it's better than that shaggy-haired guy. but you mmust know that transitions especially with embellishments in chopin must be played with care. otherwise it all sounds forte to me. i liked that you stopped at 1:51 because the repeat would be damn boring (for anyone performing it)

  • bravaaaa

  • She is so good!!!!! The people that put this on I have a question for you. It is: What level is she in?

  • i wonder if she teaches music class lol

  • amazing

  • Stop complaining about the way she plays her song!! o;

i agree she has to do better, but look, first, she's only ten. If i was her parent, i would be VERY proud of her.

    2nd, its just a practice!!

  • @Candii3457 - Anyone who complains about this child is JEALOUS! She's amazing! And never makes an error. I wish I could play this well, and I've been playing for what seems like 100 years.

  • Maybe not for some mini Mozart, but for me, to be perfectly honest, I wouldn't be complaining if i could have played like that at that age!!!

  • @sketchable343 - i wouldn't be complaining if I could play like that at my CURRENT age! lol

  • she plays without emotion..she's only tecnique and not very well too

  • Comment removed

  • i'm so glad we have an expert at piano to say such a thing about a TEN year old.

  • Wtf do you freakin want from her? A solo orchestra? I thing she kicks ass for her ages and ability.

  • aaaaa even though shes good i have to admit it try you got to put more feeling it what you play it helps people know that you enjoy wat you do... well thats wat my sensei

  • No one's who they say they can play like this,

  • So cute and so talented too! xD

  • jesteś niesamowita! Utalentowana!

  • You are really really amazing!!!!

    And I loved your dress.

Totally agree with krisakiko: "like a princess in old times playing the piano" LOL

  • Wow... Seems to remind me of the 19th Century. But that's so great! Bravo!

  • haha you were living in the 19th century?

  • Nah.. Too much on the reading materials. :D

  • wow.... i feel like a loser

  • Feel or are? Here parents must be mighty prould of that little girl. Beautiful!

    P.S.-My brothers boy can arm-fart Oh'Canada!

  • me too :D

  • @Kimberly121295 - me too. lol

  • @Kimberly121295 same...

  • me too bud

  • @Kimberly121295 me too :(

  • Bravissimo! i `d love to only teach such talents as you are!

    all my best wishes!

    kristin

  • CRAP SHES 10!! im playing that song for my grade 8 now!

  • balance the sounds. and make them blend with hints of expression.

  • wow like a princess in old times playing the piano...

  • bravo!

  • amazing.. i like so much chopin jeeee incredible...

  • I'm learning it!

  • You see folks, white kids can play piano if they put away their drugs & alcohol beverage bottles long enough & their redneck parents stop forcing them to play idiot football all the time,,,lol

  • Um, who said they can't? Where did you get that thought from anyway? All those great composers are all white.

  • ,,yes the old time writers & composers are 98% german but todays piano~violin prodigies are Japanese-Korean-Chinese children,,lol

  • The old time composers were 98% German? The guy who wrote this piece was Polish.

  • ,,that seems close enough seeing that Poland is next door neighbors to Germany,,lol

  • I live in Colorado so I'm not exposed to the South...Thank God...

  • ,,hey thats great, I think I'll leave Georgia I'm so tired of the humidity & no stars at night because the atmosphere is fogged up.

  • U are very skilled on the piano and keep it up!

  • my godd.. i'm learning this now, kinda looks impossible:S

    AWESOME JOB!

  • wow awesome, god bless you

  • practice? yea right xD

  • Oh, my God she looked so mature and older in this video. Like she lives in a mansion from the older times. Even her picture looks mature and taken professionally.

  • O.O great... complimenti O.O

  • Very heartouching. Thank you

  • oo wonderfulllllllllll

  • fabulosa!!

  • VERY NICE !

  • Thanks now I can practice this song.

P.S. If this is in F minor, then why does it mostly sound like A flat major?

  • oh my god! beautiful!

    how ols is she??

  • 10, I think.

  • she is 10

  • can you play the beautiful blue danube?

    i like that song, hahaha

    thanks!

  • Doesn't seem she is practicing, its more like a performance ;)

  • Great performance, i'm practising it now

  • Oh my god ! That was beautiful :) I want to learn this piece some day.

  • My best wishes to you, Celia. Go on, and you will be great.

  • hey cool, i can play the easier version :D

  • I love this song but i don't like when children play piano so good at this age. I think it's impossible..

  • hehe

    jealous?

  • Love this waltz wish I could play it someday.

  • With life experience, you will become a wonderful player :)

  • Hamiltonrrw, Encouragement comes in many forms, but I highly doubt that is the intention of these people. She is absolutely amazing, and as someone who just tried to start piano, (and gave up) I guess I can say it's kind of a blow to my ego. I don't appreciate it.

  • for greater effect, you could slow up towards the end (from 1:43 onwards).

  • wow. what is it that you do, and how can i do it??? dang.

  • Show more dynamics. (: Good job on the whole!

  • very good. :)

  • she's good but not that good

  • nice performance, but,I have some notes:

if you have the urtext version of the piece you could see there are two no. 12 waltzes.12a,which you beatyfuly played here is one of them, has no piano-forte notations, neither pedal instructions,on contrast with 12b,which is complete. So,as expected you played it as you liked,I'd do the same.Try to have some piano-forte variations,a piano piece, and especially a waltz by chopin, is something with much feelings,it should'nt be flat and try to use pedal less

  • She is good, yes. I doubt a lot of 10 year olds have acquired this pianoplaying skill. BUT what I dont like, is how this girl, or most probably her parents shows off her skills (just watch the vid. with her playing with her eyes covered. Yes, she IS good, but there's always someone better. Just keep that in mind.

You don't need to show off your pianoplaying skills.

  • @blubbel66 Frankly, you just sound jealous. "There's always someone better." And so what? Since when was music about being "better" than everyone else and not just enjoyment and the love of making something beautiful?

  • Cool ;-)

  • I'm sure this is not fake. This is just a precocious child. She plays so well

  • loved it a lot!

  • Magnifique!!!

  • u call that practise???

  • dannnng u are very gooood =]

  • How often and how long do you practice each week? What other composers do you like to play? Very nice performance....keep it up.

  • The piano tone feels strange.

  • I think this piano is a Bosendorfer, I'm so jealous, and you play soooo beautifully, I'm double jealous! ;)

  • The piano is a Grotrian, still a nice piano.

  • amazing!! thank you so much, the world needs talents like you who are willing to work hard to let their talent show. what is the name of this piece?

  • wtf.... you're only 10 years old and you play better than some 20 year olds i know..... very good.

  • WOW.. sooooo good

  • Little girl, big performance. You're very talented. Keep on playing like that ! :-)

  • you're an amazing pianist, Celia !! I hope you'll post some new videos =)

  • Hi , I am a french girl and I find that kept silent cheek very well of the piano for your age, since when plays you of the piano ? Sorry for my english^^

  • IT sounds very nice! I specially like that waltz.

And I want your piano :(

    Good Job.

  • impressive....

  • супер! слов нет!

  • beautiful

  • Beautiful.

  • Thats reallly very well Played!!!!!

  • You're sooo incredibly talented! God has blessed you with a remarkable gift. Bravo! Give us more.

  • So good. I can't get over how good you are. Keep posting these videos there great. I love them. I would love to see more.

  • very good

  • That ending kills me...

    Amazing pieece.

  • it was nice and beutifuly played

  • Celia, why do you call it 'practice'? It's a recital - and a wonderful at that!

  • haha... NASIMNASIM 's cm is interesting~~ lol

  • when i play it sounds a bit different.... but myabe its only me who thinks so....

  • she is going to get all the guys :0. anyway, i am not suprised that she memerized it because it was a hard piece and as a fellow pianist, i know that it is really hard to flip the page well playing the whole piece nonstop. good job

  • "she is going to get all the guys " - all the pianists - certainly. But i wouldn't be so sure about the rest ;)

  • i am just saying, if i was her age, i would have been like, your hot.

  • I'm blown away! :D

  • tres bien Celia:.-)

  • shit this is way better than mine AND she has it memorized and she's like 5

  • she is 10 not 5 if you can read, but amazing job

  • how come its a bit different than the one i play?

  • probably because chopin devoted one piece often to more than one women, thus slightly different versions survived as he cut a bit there added some there changed notes etc

paderewski had an unenviable job working on a definitive chopin nocturne collection

  • i agree. having talent like this at ten years old IS AMAZING. but i think she needs a bit more feeling. i mean she has all her dynamics... and all that... but it just... doesnt seem like its coming from her heart. its kind of like a robot. its not interesting.

    other than that.... its beautiful.

experience: 8 years of piano and still at it. =)

  • I think that you have incredible talent, and this is not meant as a criticism...but it is my strong belief that such music is much more easily played with feeling when one has life experience. For the most part one doesn't contain this life experience at 10 years of age.

  • Totally right. One thing is good technique, other is a musicality. Alice have much future, but is obvious the this waltz is only exercise and nothing of musicality. She is a technical talented, but not musically. Well, in future maybe discover this talent, or at least, will be developed artificially bu her teachers, how is the case of majority of famous pianists.

  • Very good!

  • hamiltonrrw thanks for your reply :) I enjoy listening to those pianists too, also yw1935. It is great that youtube has a large classical music section for musicians to learn from. :)

  • LOOKS good and sounds? You pervert ;P really i dunno what you meant...

  • You called it "practice" to justify your mistakes, didn't you...?

  • Tres bien travaille Celia!

  • Her Mom should set her YouTube videos to the pre-approval mode "Comment Pending Approval" or something like that. She didn't do that because my comments went right through.

  • hamiltonrrw - I agree. How disgusting to expose an innocent child to obscenities. Those people are mnmature morons.

  • She's awesome. I like the way little girls move so expressively at their pianos. So adorable and shows they enjoy playing. Most boys just play. Normally, girls are very melodic and boys are mostly technicians.

    No hate mail please...

    (^o-)

  • Another difficult piece well played! The only thing that you need to work on is controlling your right elbow - it has the tendency to move up and down while you are playing. Other than that, I love your videos, you are a very talented pianist, and I hope you post more videos on YouTube soon. Keep it up! :)

  • mayablanca - Perhaps because her elbow is connected to her ARM!

She does not "need" to work on controlling her right elbow. She's doing just FINE the way she's playing and she doesn't need approval from you on her technique, tyvm.

    ;)

  • mayablanca - Incidentally, I heard errors in your Chopin piece, but none in this little girl's. Hmmm...Perhaps you should raise your right elbow just a little to play more accurately.

    ;)

  • YGYGYGYGYGYGYGYGYGYG and hamiltonrrw - Thanks for responding to my comment. My piano teacher always told me not to move my elbow like that, so that's why I thought it was something she needed to work on. But, you have both proved me wrong. :D So, never mind Celia about what I said about the elbow.. just keep playing as well as you are and I hope to see you in concert one day. :)

  • Also, YGYGYGYGYGYGYGYGYGYG, (sorry, 500 character limit) I don't understand what you are talking about my Chopin piece? I love Chopin, but I've never posted a video on Youtube.. What video are you talking about?

Sorry if it sounds like I am fighting, I hate when I go to the comments of a video and on the comments everyone is fighting with each other. :(

  • mayablanca, Sorry. Not a problem. I just adore this little girl and how well she plays. Sorry if I was a little tough on you. I didn't mean to be, but Celia is only 10 and I think her teacher can instruct her. Too many critics; everyone critiquing her differently could confuse a child. Since she plays beautifully, and more accurately than the both of us, I just thought she deserves nothing more than compliments. ; )

  • mayablanca - The Chopin Mazurka.

  • this is waltz!!

not knowing the piece why the hell do you post comments?!

  • Beautifully played. Bravo.

  • asshole!

  • Would everyone shut up about expressions and what not? She's only 10 in this, so it's only expected that she won't fully grasp the true style of Chopin. However, she has plenty of time to improve on it, so everyone quit acting like she needs to be at a professional level already.

  • I love this waltz, I played it 5 years ago when I was 12 and never heard of it after since.

For a ten years old girl, you're not bad at all. However, playing the right notes doesn't make a musician. You need to put some expression in it, but don't worry, you'll learn it in no time if you keep practising.

  • great, on one level. you can definitely play the notes. the problem is, music is so much more than just playing a lot of notes in a row... put in dynamics and expression, and it'll sound even better.

  • darling. pick on someone your own size.

  • "darling. pick on someone your own size. "

    That's retrospectively true ;)

This is a very nice performance. Wish I could play like this when I was your age!

  • awsome playing!!!

  • LOL! 120K! YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!

    great playing. xD

  • I am your no1 fan!!! your awesume!!

  • anyone has chopin's waltz op 64 No 2 in C sharp minor? pls send me or tell me where to get it! melisasasa @ gmail. com

  • there is a place called free scores (google it). It has most famous classical piano sheets so i am asuming that they will have this too. I am not advertising or spamming. simply advice

  • I wish I had that piano..
