@backtodafuture1987 I'm a huge fan of Iron Maiden, so it's not criticising or whatever, but it's far far from being the hardest bass lines ever written. ^^ It's actually really easy to play, "Driver's High" from L'Arc~en~Ciel is harder to me (I'm a guitarist / bassist, so I say it because I can play "The Trooper" !). If you want to see real hard bass lines, there are plenty of bands looking to do that. Just listen to Iron Maiden and enjoy their music (being one of the best in the world) ! :D

From 1:33 Blaze: "We hurdle bodies that lay on the ground and the Russians fire another round", while pointing at someone. Later on, Blaze acts like a small child. Life's not fair, well neither the death! Janick is fooling around. UDI!
From 0:04 security intervened cuz some guys tried to climb up on the stage. 0:09 Blaze smiles and can't believe what he sees (just look at the expression of his face). 0:17 Blaze shows "bla, bla, bla" sign with his hands (which means, "you can say whatever you want, I don't care"). 0:22 Blaze shows on a microphone that he's the one who is a singer of Iron Maiden, and not the haters. The rest of the band stands with Blaze to show their support to him and to show the crowd that they chose Blaze.
They WERE having a lot of fun until the audience member started being a douche. This is not Blaze's shinning moment in the vocal department. You NEED to check out his solo stuff since his Maiden days. He does have an amazingly good voice and his solo albums completely ROCK. I am a HUGE Blaze fan.
blaze shows such professionalism at the end of this song! reason number 2,338 not to have him in maiden anymore! reason number one of course being the sound that comes out of that thing just above his chin but under his nose.
This is the one song that even Bruce Dickinson in his prime had trouble doing. Now if Bruce has trouble, you know Blaze is gonna have hell. He really is terrible on this song. He really only did his own songs well and some Di'anno songs well. Maybe some Fear Of The Dark songs he did well. But people should check out Wolfsbane, Blaze (now Blaze Bayley) because he did some good music with them. Bad choice for Maiden though I don't mind his studio albums with them.
Stop hating on Blaze. He sung this quite well. It's just that this is certainly a Bruce song. Have you guys ever even heard of Blaze's solo work he's done recently, it is simply amazing. I like most of Blaze's work on Maiden and some of his solo, but not when he sings Bruce's songs, this can't be denied. This version is terrible, but it's pretty clear that something happened in the beginning to the middle of the song (which I couldn't find out), Blaze got pissed off and kind of lost his concentration. You can see that Janick's solo is bad and he was pissed too a bit before. There's something more than just "bad musicianship" here.
Oops. Well, he probably shouldn't have gone off on the fan like that. But honestly, the terrible vocal is probably a result of lack of practice. I assume muscle memory is a huge part of singing with a band like Iron Maiden because there's probably no way he can hear himself live.

For Maiden to put this guy in a position to not be able to sing these songs properly is a crime. The guy's got a fine voice, but no high range. Tune your guitars down a step and he would have sounded fine IMHO. Priest did it for Ripper.
@dduval59 Your right. MAiden didnt tune down the guitars and he was forced to sing out of his range...and truth be told he butchered this song theres no denying it. That being said, I have heard him do The Trooper with his solo band, the instruments were tuned down to where they were supposed to be...and he f@ckin nailed it. Its not a question of whether he has the skill, cause he does. He just needed to be in his vocal range.
well, i may not want to blame bailey at all, after all, he already put his best in performing the trooper song which originally sung by bruce at that time. however, I think bailey's voice may not be suitable for any of bruce's songs with maiden as bailey's voice is more of a a coarse voice and may more suitable fpr singing paul's di anio songs while paul was with maiden.
Blaze's voice is stronger than Bruce and I like that...

I think Steve purposely chose a singer who wouldn't fit the band so Bruce would come back. And it worked.
By the way, Steve hates the phenomenon of detuning guitars. He won't even do drop D according to Adrian, so he'd never let the band tune down.

I've been a Maiden fan since the release of 'Killers' and been a Wolfsbane fan my whole life. But Blaze and Maiden just didn't work (unfortunately).

From 0:04 security intervened cuz some guys tried to climb up on the stage. 0:09 Blaze smiles and can't believe what he sees (just look at the expression of his face). 0:17 Blaze shows "bla, bla, bla" sign with his hands (which means, "you can say whatever you want, I don't care"). 0:22 Blaze shows on a microphone that he's the one who is a singer of Iron Maiden, and not the haters. The rest of the band stands with Blaze to show their support to him and to show the crowd that they chose Blaze.

They WERE having a lot of fun until the audience member started being a douche. This is not Blaze's shinning moment in the vocal department. You NEED to check out his solo stuff since his Maiden days. He does have an amazingly good voice and his solo albums completely ROCK. I am a HUGE Blaze fan.

This is the one song that even Bruce Dickinson in his prime had trouble doing. Now if Bruce has trouble, you know Blaze is gonna have hell. He really is terrible on this song. He really only did his own songs well and some Di'anno songs well. Maybe some Fear Of The Dark songs he did well. But people should check out Wolfsbane, Blaze (now Blaze Bayley) because he did some good music with them. Bad choice for Maiden though I don't mind his studio albums with them.

Stop hating on Blaze. He sung this quite well. It's just that this is certainly a Bruce song. Have you guys ever even heard of Blaze's solo work he's done recently, it is simply amazing. If he sucks, why would Maiden want him in the first place then? Who cares? At least thank goodness Maiden didn't split up after the departing of Bruce and Adrian. I love every present and past member of Maiden... because I am a true fan of Iron Maiden!

I like most of Blaze's work on Maiden and some of his solo, but not when he sings Bruce's songs, this can't be denied. This version is terrible, but it's pretty clear that something happened in the beginning to the middle of the song (which I couldn't find out), Blaze got pissed off and kind of lost his concentration. You can see that Janick's solo is bad and he was pissed too a bit before. There's something more than just "bad musicianship" here.

Oops. Well, he probably shouldn't have gone off on the fan like that. But honestly, the terrible vocal is probably a result of lack of practice. I assume muscle memory is a huge part of singing with a band like Iron Maiden because there's probably no way he can hear himself live.

For Maiden to put this guy in a position to not be able to sing these songs properly is a crime. The guy's got a fine voice, but no high range. Tune your guitars down a step and he would have sounded fine IMHO. Priest did it for Ripper.

@dduval59 Your right. MAiden didnt tune down the guitars and he was forced to sing out of his range...and truth be told he butchered this song theres no denying it. That being said, I have heard him do The Trooper with his solo band, the instruments were tuned down to where they were supposed to be...and he f@ckin nailed it. Its not a question of whether he has the skill, cause he does. He just needed to be in his vocal range.

well, i may not want to blame bailey at all, after all, he already put his best in performing the trooper song which originally sung by bruce at that time. however, I think bailey's voice may not be suitable for any of bruce's songs with maiden as bailey's voice is more of a a coarse voice and may more suitable fpr singing paul's di anio songs while paul was with maiden.
