The first BJH single. Les was much amused when someone called for it on the 1987 tour! Beautiful, memorable lyrics, beautiful melody and beautifully sung by Woolly Wolstenholme ... he left us so many lovely songs
@phil1958uk BJH took some stick in the early days as some songs do sound Moody and Blueish. However a lot they wrote did not..... BJH response was to write a brilliant song .. "Poor Mans Moody Blues" - semi homage - semi parody! Have a listen on U-Tube.
@londonbangkok - Well said sir. I saw BJH recently and John commented on the Poor Mans Moody Blues story between songs. I think he gets pissed off with the comparision.
Both bands are great in their own respective way.
It just shows how many good songs they wrote at that time. This songs, and some of the others I've uploaded was leaved out on the debutalbum, which is a masterwork anyway.

Fantastic track - one of their very best - superb melody and vocals from Woolly - plus great Mellotron Mk II flutes and strings!
M400fan 3 years ago 2
Yeah. Every great band need the flute and the mellotron, no doubt! :)
