  • I love the fact that Zooey Deschanel's dad was responsible for that ending shot.

  • A brilliant film. It makes you think. It makes you guess. And the end makes you hope the good guy gets away. Seen it over and over. It never gets old.

  • Ok, let's experiment something here. Try this for fun. Watch this video and let's pretend Robert Duvall's character represents present-day human consciousness. Are you capable of doing that ? Ok...so...what is happening to human consciousness is at the end of this scene. Do you get it ?

  • I empathise!!

  • What an awesome ending, with an awesome message... that some things, like freedom and personal sovereignty are more important than just continuing to suck air and metabolize food. That maybe just staying alive isn't the be-all and end-all. A fitting great early attempt for a GREAT director.

  • I went into this movie hoping for a George Lucas masterpiece with great writing and an original, entertaining story arc. I got neither of those. I was SO BORED throughout this entire film.

  • @nikedmondson i felt the same way, the film just kept jump cutting to random things that happened and i had no clue what the hell was happening

  • @kingofburnttoast You are yet indeed, the King of burnt toast.

  • Dumb

  • I just saw this movie for the first time last night. It was a bit strange at times, but is definitely worth watching.

  • 2:25 on gets me every time.

  • Beautiful ending shot.

  • 10/10

  • In the book he climbed up into an ifrastructure and that is where was attacked by the shelldwellers

  • I make myself a prisoner to ask you

Will you leave Babylon and Egypt? The only way out is Jesus you know. The exit is right there for you.

  • great ending but the shell dweler monkeys wer in the original but less digitalized

  • its bad enough "The Island" was a complete rip off of this movie, but the last shot here is the same as in The Island.

  • I asked Ben Bova if he would write a sequel but he told me the rights belonged to George Lucas.

  • i WOULD LOVE TO HELP LUCAS WORK ON A SEQUEL

  • Die apen waren in de originele versie dwergen en andere verschoppelingen. Waarom apen?

  • I'd like to see what those monkeys originally looked like back when George Lucas made THX 1138.

Great sci-fi flick from the 70s.

  • They weren't monkeys, they were a dwarf-like fringe dweller tribe. One was captured and put in the prison with them earlier on in the movie.

  • nice is an ape from planet of the apes would show up and net him.

  • WHAT ???? It's a joke ??? They added 3-D alien monkeys ??? No, please tell me I'm dreaming !!!! That's so cheesy...

  • yeah a lot of fx, robots they work on, car scenes, trains, cityscapes were all redone by good ol george. you know how he thinks cgi is the greatest invention of all time

  • IT IS! 8D

  • i love this film!!
