  • Sure you can figure equity without considering pot odds, but what does that mean? When considering whether it is correct to call or not, you most definately have to consider what the pot is laying. You are a 3:2 dog, not a 2:5 dog as stated below, so if the pot is offering better than 3:2, then call! I did not pay attention to the amount of money that went in, but would assume that the pot was offering better then 3:2, so it was almost certainly a positive EV play.

  • and lol @ saying that this was a bad call given all the action before he want all in.

with so much dead money in the pot this is an auto call because you have 9 hearts for the nuts and any ace is likely to be an out as well. That's over 40% equity vs any hand below two pairs, don't need poker stove to figure that out.

If there's 20% of your stack in the middle and you have 40% equity this is a profitable call in the long run.

Folding would be really disastrous there

  • I dont want to break this down but the point is that a huge % of players fail to make a decent estimation of villains hand range. And when they do so, they can't estimate which hands in the range are the most likely holdings. hold'em manager and pokertracker are useless with less than 100 hands info.

This is obv almost never gonna be 2 pair. Most likely at these stakes is any king and less likely a smaller flush draw.

  • I didn't pay attention to stack sizes/bets in the video but you definitely have to consider pot odds. isn't if your gonna win 40% of the time it is correct to call getting 2:5. not gonna rewatch to figure out if that was the case, but all in equity is not the only thing to consider for this hand.

  • did u take the potods into considuration ? im new with this program but dont u need to type in the pot size and potods to get the corect equity?

  • you dont need pot odds to work out your equity in a hand. only for fold equity.

  • lol dosnt it suck when you evaluate a play you made and you find out its a losing play. Good tut. 5 stars

  • Yes, I didn't really look at the number of hands before I started the video so you are right it is not nearly enough hands. So I just assumed he was a poor player because of the action I had seen prior to the hand and the limit we were playing. As for the addons you are talking about, I would be interested in checking them out.
