  • was he trying to be freddy mecurey??

  • Does anyone else think Stephen Perkins is a criminally underrated drummer?

  • @NickODU2015 I always have. I would attribute his lack of attention to playing with feel and dynamics as opposed to real fast and hard which for some reason I will never understand gets all the attention?

  • @NickODU2015 he's brilliant, youre probably right, but drummers don't seem to get as much notice as singers/guitarists

  • JA is considered icons of alternative rock genre :). Look how many bands formed after JA's first break-up :). Absolutely legend too bad some ppl don't get them right away :)

  • Miss him with the braids and dreads.

  • Taken from an interview from late 1988 (on the Words and Music promo)

Interviewer: “We’ve said before, ‘Ted, Just Admit It…’ is not about Ted Bundy the mass killer, but you did use…”

Perry: “It was just a coincidence. We found a piece of tape that had a voice on it and it just happened to be his voice too. Which is another real, real big coincidence. And then I found out that he was a killer so that really threw me.”

  • looks like 10 people dont know what real music is

  • as a matter of fact ; I bought myself a bass and learned how to play just because this song . one of my top 3 ever !!!

  • perry is the beautiful one!!!!

  • los amo ♥

  • Its about Ted Bundy? LOL its just his voice at the beginning. the song is about how sex/violence on tv/media has an affect on people/culture.

  • My apologies fellas. You're both correct. I don't know why I was so sure. It'd been so long since I heard the first disc that I was pretty positive.

At least we can agree that this is a fantastic track!

  • This video is mislabled. It's "Nothing's Shocking" and NOT "Hey Ted Admit It".

Still a stellar and groovy track anyways! (the whole debut disc is pretty fantastic too)

  • @JJJJay not really. the song is called ted just admit it

  • @lennex88 : i assure you. It's song titke is ** not ** Ted, Just Admit it. The song is called Nothing's Shocking from the "Nothing's Shocking" album. .

  • @JJJJay i thought it was about Ted Bundy and the title was ted just admit it,

  • @JJJJay its called ted just abmit it moron.........it is about ted bundy, learn about the band before you post about em

  • @bigsmooth50 LMAO.. yea jjjjay just admit it

  • @bigsmooth50

I think he got it, so shut the fuck up, you agressive cunt!

  • @JJJJay obviously not a big jane's fan. do you even have the album?

  • @lilducklingsierra I guess 'Idiots Rule"

  • saw 'em open for Love and Rockets - Earth Sun Moon tour. was amazing.

  • Why did they make fu**** hard/heavy/shitting/rock/metal song instead of making these kind of super psyche tune... i like jane's addiction, but they have record piece of shit, not like this song :D

  • awesome, one of my favorite songs

  • This live rocks! Seriously, it's much better than Ritual de lo Habitual's lives i've seen... and Perry seems to sing so much better!

  • I really love Jane's, but seriously what is wrong with this guy? lol

  • this whole album is so fucking good

  • im glad this isnt ted but nothings shocking instead

  • @prezobummer- must not be a fan

  • @prezobummer - must not be a fan

  • Saved my life tonight ;) was very depressed till I heard this again and was willing to give up on the human condition and think WTF? I'm not the only one... Hang in there kitten.

  • Increible mi banda de cabezera desde sus inicios, es un placer ver a una banda como esta que potencia en el escenario.

  • TED DID U ADMIT IT???

  • lmao.. Perry is so nuts. They all are. But of course, you've got to be nuts to write such great music.

  • Does anyone know where this song with flea playing is?

  • @nellychess Try their 'Three Days' video of the Relapse tour that Flea was playing bass on.

  • @ksedore

I actually found it. Check this out !! The whole show is on there in parts. Absolutely insane.

    Jane's Addiction - Enit Festival 1997 (part 11)

  • Perry has captured in 1 song what took Ted Bundy, the murderous pig, yrs.

    Do the crime

    Pay the time

    Fucker!

  • No mames Perry se mueve como teibolera en este video !!

  • Mr Farrell, I'd do you.

  • love this song. great live band i think

  • Wow they actually look healthy here. Compared to late 80's early 90's. Always great.

  • im so gay onmyknees for perry. What a band this was .i liked the themes they essayed their sound .Goodtime anyway!

  • A of a lot of great travels in my old car, playing the hell out of this tape!

  • lol perry is a funny motherfucker. I love this song so much!

  • wtf is he wearing gdamn

  • Jane's is the best live show u will ever see~

  • @Hava420friendly agreed.

  • i could listen to that bass all day

  • @JCooltrane83 the bassline just NEVER gets old

  • Good time anyway!

  • after listening to this song. I've came to the concluison that sex is violence.

  • nothing shocking will never go out of style while a glimpse of white panty will quivir up and down the scales of permisiveability and style fashion +

  • es la copia del gran Fredy Mercuri

  • Why would Ted admit it, when he didn't do those things?

  • @RioXavier And the police there arent willing to accept what I think they know.......

  • is it wrong to get a boner off of this???

  • @vigteo1 Broner!

  • Depends, if it's of Ferrell's stage presence and you are straight that is ok.

if it is off the music, that is fine.

if it is off any thing else then i'd say it's fine anyway.

  • @icutyouupsobad Everything about this is boner-worthy. And I'm a chick!

  • bahahaha

  • @vigteo1

By the looks of this performance, I'm sure Perry wouldn't mind

  • @vigteo1

Yes and shut the fuck up! Don't ask shocking questions for attention, just get a life with real value.

  • its just a joke

so shut the fuck and stop whining

  • If it's a joke it should be funny. lol

  • hehehahaha musername1 is actually genuinely angry. you made a joke....HOW DARE YOU! I think he's feeling a bit sexually frustrated at his own perry ferrell boner

  • huevón nadie nojoda <3

  • Trent Reznor doesn't lip sync. You're a moron.

However, this is about Jane's - when I saw them during the NIN/JA tour, they were INCREDIBLE, as if NIN didn't blow me away enough. However, Perry needs to start booting heroin again. He tweaked at my show because someone threw a bottle cap on stage. He almost pulled an Axl Rose with that one.

  • Great ! :)

  • I saw em at pnc with NIN also... shit was fuckin ridiculous. So good. And NIN was amazing, I don't know about this lip synching. Trent sounded almost exactly like he does on the albums... but you could hear the differences. I just credited it to NIN being the shit - but that's me. ha.

  • They are. Trent doesnt need to lip sync.

  • saw them around 1990 live in germany / bochum / zeche.

    just amazing. :top

  • i LOVE THIS MAN!!!!

  • sex in violent. stabbing

  • this is the best version of the song

  • actually, Ted DID admit if before they executed him in 1989......

  • Saw them live with NIN this summer, Never ever ever ever ever expected them to rock the way they did.Opened with 'Three days'. Very cool. I love the part of this song where he says "And then HE came.......". Not sure why. Always hit me right. "All was right...and then HE came.......". Fucking Ted.

  • saaaaame!!

  • yeah dude so did I!

NIN fucking sucked, they were lip syncing.

janes addiction however, put on one of the best shows i've ever seen.

  • lip syncing? you sure about that? i didn't know they did that...

  • lip syncing? what a lie.

  • not even lying.

there was a close up on his face on a jumbo screen, the lead singer slipped up more than a couple times, with singing and his piano playing.

  • are you sure it wasn't just a screen delay?

  • @GlueyPorch

    agreed

  • Everybody is so full of shit. Well, Teddy died and never did admit it.

  • for psychologists ~: Farrell had a difficult life as a child and dont become a "TED". :-p

    ROCK AND ROLL!!!!!!!!

  • OMG did that rock. I love the bass riffs, esp. this live performance, sounds great!

  • perry farrel is such a nice guy when i met him in revolution he offered to take pitures and talk about the janes reunion

Dave navaro was a fucking asshole though but still badass

  • yeah I have always admired Perry Farrell; his wierdness and fucking brilliance!!! I jumped on stage and danced with him in Albuquerque during Been Caught Steeling. My claim to fame...LOL I love the "off key" sound. After all, they are responsible for the grunge movement.

  • holy shit does this rock the fuck out. best rock band of the last 25 years, hands down.

  • JA will always be one of my favourite groups ever, but Perry just cant hack it live. He's cool and all, and his stage performances are amazing, but when he doesn't quite hit those high notes, and gets a bit off key here and there i just cringe. This is NOT a stab at JA, its just that I love the album versions so much, and its just too bad that he really cant sing that well.

  • I think years of rocking and drugs have taken their toll, listen to their 80s shows, he's right on unless their all strung out

  • That makes sense.

  • I agree with you. It's not a popular opinion, but he really lost the ability to bring it in a live setting.

He did have it until 93 or 94...

  • Is this song about Ted Bundy?

  • yes it is

  • i actually thought that it was about al bundy

    :P

  • LMAO

  • damn...i need that dvd!!!...is awesome

  • 5:27 to 5:30. Fucking cool lookin

  • Impressive! Music is the .. DRUG!!!!!

  • Janes Addiction, Nine Inch Nails- best idea i've ever heard of. Wouldn't you know it, got my money's worth!

  • @hatfisc So did i, best fuckinn' show ive been to.. JA at lakewood, Atlanta yeeah

  • buckethead is fucking awesome.i remeber seeing the music of primus ballet of buckethead a long ass time ago b3 guitar hero

  • vocals sound a tad off but hey I cant blame him.

  • nothings shocking best album ever

  • Yeah, that's true. Perry reminds me of Freddy Mercury.

  • the best band ever !!!!!!!!!

  • is he smoking weed?

  • This is great, Perry could of done better with the vocals.

  • Not even a big "janes addiction" fan,,,saw them twice in '91..birmingham and NO....great shows.

  • dave navarro!!! one of the best guitarist of our generation!!

  • yup for sure. and jack white.

  • well what about buckethead?

  • Fuck buckethead. People just shit their pants because of Jordan in Guitar Hero II.

  • Umm... How are you going to list great guitarists and not include Slash?

  • people just like him cause of Gh two =/

There are WAYYY better guitarists like Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix

  • I won't say Jimmy Page or Hendrix are better than Slash (I do agree that Clapton is, though)... But they are great too... And I loved Slash before PS2 was even around, let alone GH2... In all honesty, I started liking him because of his hair lol... Also, the lead singer for Coheed and Cambria is pretty stellar on guitar (even does some Hendrix trademarks like behind the head and playing with his teeth)

  • totally agree!!!! i saw clapton live and nothing anyone can do could top him!

  • no one living anyway!

Stevie Ray Vaughn would roll Clapton up in a fat spliff and SMOKE HIS ASS!!!

  • YES!!!

  • Claudio doesn't even play lead most of the time. Slash is a highly overrated guitarist. He never has done anything that hasn't been done before, whereas Hendrix did stuff no one dared to(albeit with the helf of Mitch Mitchell). I never really liked Page though.

  • help* that is

  • thank you! hes terribly overrated; all he does is play distorted penatonic scales

  • youtube buckethead...primus did a song called ballet of buckethead...way b4 guitar hero was ever even thought of...and people loved it.not saying hes the best but far better that u or i can guarantee.

  • AMAZING!!

  • This is a KROQ winners show. Sort of warm up for the Strays tour. We shot it with 10 cameras. It looks amazing right?

  • Fuck yeah!!

  • Cant beat proshot audio either

  • Every morning on my way to work I drive by the house that Ted Bundy grew up in and I think of this song.

  • Excellent quality --- thanks for posting this gem!

  • holy shit this gives me goosebumps

  • This live version could almost make the original one on Nothing's Shocking (1988) look like a demo!

  • everybody's so full of shit....

  • Perry sporting the Full-On Freddie.

  • Holy shit, great song. so great live too!

  • DAVE TOO COOL TOBEFAG';./'/';..

  • i just gotta say it.

dave navarro shreds like a motherfucker.

  • This is not strays

  • saw janes twice. once in austin and another in maine. show in austin kicked ass, one in maine kinda blew. didnt get nothings shockin at either show. this cd and a good hit of window pane or some silver, your night is set.

  • such a great psychedelic song.

  • Fucking best Jane's Song

  • Agreed! My favorite Jane's Addiction tune! However as intense as this performance is, I wish they gave more care to the melody/vocals in the out section...

  • after to Appetite for Destruction by Guns And Roses, Nothing's Shocking has to be my favorite album! the best songs on there are mountain song, ocean size, and this one.

  • This band is way better than GNR, though =)

  • if you could rock like these boys then FUCK ME IN THE ASS SWEETIE!

  • their ugliest roadie has probably slept with more girls than u'll ever even see in ur lifetime

  • nuthin better

  • Just great man.....great.

  • Thanks for this posting! I enjoyed it immensely...Looks like the Strays tour? Seems like it sort of lacks that insane jump into another planet that marked JA live early 90's when I first saw them, but great nonetheless

  • is this strays? its seems older than strays?

  • does anyone knows now sister's not a virgin anyore? her sex is violent!

  • fucking cool

  • Good time anyway.......................

  • One of the greatest songs ever,I saw them in Pittsburgh back in the day.Unreal!

  • totally agree with Corbydallas: fave album! fave song!

  • theres few bands that when you see them live its a life changing experience... janes is one of them

  • I LOVE SEX WHO ELSE IS WITH ME? I

  • HELL YEAH

  • the best part of the song is between 3:45 and 4:00

  • nobody can pull off vocal echo/reverb like perry farrell

  • The best night out in Doncaster I ever had was watching JA

  • steve has really improved his drumming skills over the years..

  • Perry... you redifined camp... camp is cool!!

    you rock!!!!!!

  • excellent bassline, completes the song

  • ohhh yes.... beat that!

  • most underrated band of all time, best band of the 90s as well

  • Whish I could have seen a show- I hear the energy is comparable to the Flamming Lips, but dark instead of celebratory.
