  • this is sweet, this is an awesome instructional video, I would make the caveat that jimi used thumbs for the roots on a lot of his chords, like frusciante emulates, which is what allowed him to write the way that he did, you get the same sound without using the thumb chords which is sweet but I would also suggest trying out a version where you thumb the roots; it's a lot harder but gives a completely different feel to playing, it allowed him to hold roots and play licks while holding the root :)

  • doh mai mai

  • Brilliant. Well played.

  • Great Job! my search ends here !!!

  • OMG thank you you ARE A LEGENDARY!

  • Thanks for taking the time and trouble to spell it out note by note, with clear diagrams.

Now jake0the0muss and the rest of us can find it our hearts to take the trouble to get it right, instead of using "heart" as an excuse to get it wrong.

    Power on man!

  • I disagree.

  • @aliahrocks disagree with what ? the little wing vid you have on your page is definitely wrong, so I'm not sure what you're using for comparison..

  • @dojomania I'm sorry, I posted this message in error. It seemed to me to read a bad review to your tutorial (actually it was a similar video, posted by someone else) and I was trying to express my disapproval. Apparently I got the opposite result. Very funny! My apologies.

  • Thanks heaps mate. My search ends here : )

  • @SoarerUZZ31 my pleasure, I'm glad it helped !

  • in my opinion, you sound more like stevie than jimi.

  • @PeterCRissKISSgod thanks, I do appreciate your giving me the time..and the comparison ..!

  • Dude your chord diagrams suck . They look like they are out of a football play book

  • is little wing a hard song to play?

  • @StLcYy86 it sure is

  • @StLcYy86 .. well it's hard to play right, and in my opinion, the only way is to play every single note exactly the way he did. I 've been doing it for years, and I still can't get exactly his sound. of course, one can argue that to be a guitarist is to be creative, and take poetic license with his song, but I would argue that it's near impossible to play it any better than Jimi. However, I feel that trying to play it the right way gets me closer to what he was feeling as a musician.

  • @dojomania i feel ya thanks mann. i juss wanna play any hendrix songs i kan i love that guy ha

  • @dojomania i disagree... rock music isnt about hitting every note... you just needa keep the rythem and play with heart

  • @jake0the0muss

Typical fucking retard who doesn't know what they're talking aboot.

  • @dojomania ...i usually don't like covers, but sometimes there are some covers netter than the original and with all due respect to jimi hendrix, srv's version is better.... i am a fan of jimi but i can't help it i prefer srv's version a lot more....

  • @StLcYy86 That song isn't hard to play if u know the fondamentals of Hendrix, and if u play the guitar about 2 of 3 years, that's should be good

  • @MrSouljaboytellem95 well ive only been playing for like 8 months ha

  • @StLcYy86 Can you do it ? yeah because with 8 month that's possible.

  • educate1, thanks, I'm glad to have shared something useful with a fellow guitarist. Yeah, sorry about the diagrams, they were hand written on a touch screen, and transferred as images into adobe premiere...and it was too hard to scan in all the drawings...is there tab writing software out there?

  • @dojomania guitar pro, duuh

  • Good stuff.

Chord diagrams a bit messy and hard to follow, though the tutorial was a big help comparing hammer ons etc to other version. Nice playing too.

  • hello , dojo look for minut 1,18,, in your video

this is that i want to say the thumb if you can see steavy ray and jonh mayor

    he no uses barre chords

  • hendrix use another tipe of chords , he use his thumb a lot, hold the bass.

    you almost got it!!!

  • @nandosainz , he used the same chords according to the diagrams, the chords are the same, he just used his thumb instead of using barre chords.

  • u have salchicha fingers meng!

  • Grrr how can i work myself to write something like this? :D

This song is nuts! I love it!

  • @MikeTheGuy00 , thanks, glad you like it ! Hendrix is god.

  • Jean Claude Van Damme playing Little Wing. Nice.

  • @NoirHammer , LOL, thanks for watching , I take it you've seen my aikido vids :)

  • your sound is perfect 0.0

  • great bro lots of thanks

  • Canadians arent retarted! They just act like it

  • Drawing at 5:35 wins

  • dude that was cool, but (no offense), you can do better tabs for your video, i mean, if that retarded Canadian Bobby Crispy got better tabs, a badass Asian can do magic haha.

  • Why's bobby crispy retarted?

  • oh man, i just wanted to listen to the song. i forgot about the guitar lesson haha

  • thanks dude, it was worth your sweat! and also mine, I finally got the intro right now :)

  • Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad to be of service.

  • woah i finally got it.. about probobly like 50 of those views are me alone lol i worked on it alot. thanks XD

  • Just wanted to thank you for this - it's a great song and a great lesson.

  • your the best i havent gotten this far with little wing with any other video im just stuck alittle. whats your source for the tabs

  • thanks, kensta, I'm glad you found this useful. my source?Listening to this solo over and over again until the rewind button broke.....if you're stuck, just keep at it, it'll come to you ! Thanks for watching !

  • Great job, this will help. One of the hardest songs ive tryed to figure out. Especialy like Jimi. Gave up along time ago. Do you ever figure out Trowers tunes? Been working on Spellbound. Got most of it, but its kinda like this , so many different parts. I think Robin may have got the Idea from this song.

  • The songs not spellbound its Daydream. I call it that sometimes by accident. Listen to it sometime, its really fun to play, Just like to see you break it down, if you have the time it would be awesome. Thanks Bill

  • Thanks for watching, blind mellon ! (great screen name, BTW ) I am glad that this video was helpful , I am glad I have an appreciative audience . I haven't tried any Robin Trower, Jimi has given me enough music to transcribe for multiple lifetimes.I will post more on the other guitar parts, ie, the comping on the choruses, and the solo.but writing up the tabs is really kinda tedious.. thanks so much, Feel free to post a response vid of your version, too.

  • Wow ! This is so accurate, and sounds just like Jimi, NOT Stevie Ray !! I don't understand why people even think Stevie Ray has anything to do with this... ! I hope you put up more of this great number !

  • because stevie ray did an amazing cover of this song, and it has more views here than Hendrix's does, so anybody thats new to Hendrix and SRV would assume its by SRV

  • I wasn't even signed in, but I had to, just to say how true to tone your playing is.

    Thank You So Much!

  • My pleasure , and thanks! Yeh, I have spent many an hour trying to figure just one or two notes.

  • woooooow thank you, this video reaaaally helped me, more than anyone else, you shouldn't turn off the voting function i would rate it 5/5 !

i would love to see more videos like this

  • Thank you! I'm glad I could help you, this is such a great, and popular song with aspiring guitarists. I'll work on more vids soon . Keep on playing and practicing!

  • =) (y)

  • As far as accurate I am one hundred percent amazed in all the covers I've seen I've never heard on this accurate and true to tone.

  • Thank you so much for your comments, Ron, I do appreciate a careful listener such as yourself. It did take quite a while to figure out exactly.. I hope the lesson was useful to you.

  • Actually it was quite helpful, I really really love how you incorporated pictures into the lesson of tabs, it proved more helpful than a plain old text tab. It's interactive and that's why I like it.

  • Yes, I basically compartmentalized the piece into smaller, more digestible parts, which one doesn't get from traditional tabs on a written page. It's how I memorized it, and played it. I think this is the best way to lear a piece, rather than by digesting it whole. Thanks again, ronspeck, for your interest !

  • Awesome job. I would like to thank you for this. I've got some questions?

    1) I am afraid that it will be gone after a wile can you send me this video by e-mail?

    2) If you play, lets say in the e minor sequence or all the other sequences. Are there several shapes of the e-minor on different places on the neck in witch the single notes are picked? Do you have an overview of all these chord shapes in all the different sequences?

    3) Do you have more of this kind of FREAKIN MATERIAL?

  • Thanks so much, Bartbobobos, I am very happy that you found this useful. I'm working on getting a second vid out to address those great questions.

As a short answer, to 1)yes, I'd be glad to send you the video, but it's about 80 mbs. You could download a mozilla firefox add-on that allows you to download youtube videos, is my best suggestion. I've been figuring out songs since I was 13, fast forwarding and rewinding ..

    Cheers!

  • Thanks, I did download Firefox and the add to download it worked thanks I am looking forward to see more of youre work there are not many good videos on the internet like yours. Have a nice day!

  • thanks a lot dojo, ive been lookin for something like this

    glad you made it

  • THanks, sebas, I appreciate the support.I hope it gives you many hours of enjoyment.I have tried to make this the most accurate transcription of the studio version as possible. If you feel inclined, feel free to post a videonreposnse of you playing it .

  • Thanks a lot for this video. I really apreciate that you made this lesson, it's well well done.

    Thanks again.

  • Thank you, franzduca, I truly appreciate your comments. This is why I love doing tutorials, it's so rewarding when someone finds something of value in what I can offer. I sincerely hope that this deepens your understanding. Hendrix is so important in a guitarist's song portfolio.

  • cool stuff,man.

  • Thanks Mark

  • my pleasure, thanks for watching!

  • Great job, Mark!

  • Thanks, so much Eddie, your comments mean a lot to me ! Looking forward to your next hendrix vid too! If you have a little wing vid, please feel free to post it as a video repsonse.
