lo unico que le tendria que decir a esta esplendida camioneta es que para 2012 tendrian q hacer un camio importante en esta chata por la tanto sus camioneta son explendidas y me facinan toyota hilux desde mi infancia
the hilux is actually larger than the Tacoma and can be considered "midsized" as opposed to the compact Tacoma. It is definitely not larger than the Tundra which would be too large for other countries roads.
@helenaki8 Lol, the 3.0L Ford Escape XLT gets 34 mpg on a bad day and makes 300 hp. What's wrong, Toyota? Watered down a bit, are we? ROFL, America will always make the better truck.
@ballader1 And you, sir, are high on crack. We have thousands of local CNC shops and automotive specialty shops, that one could easily gear it down enough to get a ton of traction. Also, the Ford Escape XLT has an electronic drive system that engages power from any wheel that's slipping to the other three to gain more traction and momentum. It was a Mitsubishi invention, but Ford adapted it easily and they do AWESOME offroad.
@brapboys503 watch your comments boy, a stock 300 hp truck can't do shit offroading, cause of the crazy torque, you know why the f150 didn't go to the north pole? the answer is in the technical detailst. And about that system....you know almost any trucks has it :P

@ballader1 Yeah, idling around in 1st gear in a flat parking lot! xD I'm not saying the Toyota isn't economical, it just gets the same mileage (roughly) as the V6 Ford Escape 4X4 XLT and that little truck hangs with built KA's.
@brapboys503 the way I see it, we both got some points. Each truck has it's advantages and it's disadvantages, but they are both pretty good trucks, althrough I would feel safer inside a hilux, but that's just my opinion ;)
@ballader1 Why safer? Because it's Japanese? And not American? I'm not hating, I just want to know. Because honestly, I'd feel safer inside a '77 Oldsmobile Delta 88 than anything else. Lol, tank on wheels.
@brapboys503 not because of that, I would never choose a car/truck/suv/crossover/anything else because it is japenese/american etc, but Fords have a cab that is weak meaning that if a crash occurs it will get depressed and give you less space to survive. Toyotas in the other hand don't have that problem. To see crash tests go to an ncap site like euroncap ancap etc.
@ballader1 These Escapes have a 5-star government crash test rating in our country, and a lot of Toyotas, Hondas, Nissans, Mazdas, you name it, have fallen short at 4 stars.
@brapboys503 What I know is that the goverment hasn't updated the system. I remember a car (I think it was a nice Chevy) got 5 stars and in euroncap 2 or 3, btw Mazda=Ford :P
i wish Toyota would bring their Europian cars to the states too, we have tacoma which is nothing near as good as hilux but they say its the same but i say Bullsh**t

i think the differences is thehilux use diesel engine
metalnomercy1 1 year ago
@metalnomercy1 - As I know there are three engines:
2 Diesel engines: 2,5 l / 102 HP + 3,0l / 163 HP in Argentina and 171 HP in Germany
1 Gasoline engine: 2,7 l / 160 HP in Ecuador, Brasil and others.
watchworm 1 year ago
@watchworm There is no different engine powers on 3.0.
In Europe they give 171PS. This is about 168HP or about 165CV. In countries with the number 163 power, is for CV metric.
There are different metric units because th g force is not steady
helenaki8 1 year ago
@helenaki8 they give 197 hp in Europe aswell.
ballader1 10 months ago
@watchworm It's also available with the v6 4.0l 1GR-FE engine

@watchworm there is also a 3,0 l / 197 hp DIESEL engine.

@ballader1 i think the 197 hp engine is only chipping the same 3,0 with 171 hp

What's the difference from the Hilux and Tacoma? I hear the Hilux is better but why? And why aren't they sold here in the states?
jamesjr934 1 year ago
@jamesjr934 Hilux is made in Toyota in South Africa.
It made for European market and Hilux-Vigo is made in Thailand for eastern countries. But is the same car.
Hilux has the fame of unbreakable, because many parts are made in Japan.
You can say is more economic choise from Tacoma-smaller engines-more simply pick up.
Toyota Tacoma is a USA pick up and also the Tundra. USA market, needs bigger and stronger-engine pick up trucks.(Tacoma-small,Tundra-big).
trucks are different between Europe and Usa
helenaki8 1 year ago
@jamesjr934 i would much rather have an older hilux. the reason why they arent sold in the us is because we have the tacoma and the tundra.
