I have seen her perform. I feel that only other classical guitarists can truly realize the amount of effort involved in her technique. It is what makes her the greatest classical guitarist in the world.
I remember when I picked her up from the airport to play a concert in Winston-Salem, she's smoking hot. In my truck I played some of my music for her that was on CD.
She's a great player and a great person.
Awesome! This is one of my favorite renditions of the Prelude. I have it on her CD she gave me.
She doesn't play it fast only to demonstrate how fast She can play. That's a very stupid assumption. She plays it fast because it's a way of expression. Her version is actually a bit faster than the original violin version (type: Itzhak Perlman, 1006a); You can see also the version of this piece of her brother Viktor (type: Viktor, 1006) which is played a little slower then the original version but musically is worth equal and both versions are beautiful. I'm sorry for any grammatical error..
I know this is classical but hearing what she can do here makes me wonder.. What the hell would it be like if you put an electric guitar in her hands?
There is more than one acceptable speed for any piece. its a about personal interpretation - its music which is very personal. I can hear every note and I lost none of the melody or feeling. Hearing is also a personal choice of course. I loved this and you have to marvel at the skill and musicality of Ana.
from Jose', the hermeterec........Ana is extremely gifted, but I gotta tell you that she played this prelude wat, WAY too fast! She removed so much of the feeling from that it became an exercise in pyrotechnics rather than the beautiful, harmonically fascinating piece Bach intended it to be. Ana sounds like Su Meng (whom I believe plays the thing faster still) on this. Listen to Flavio Sala play this to hear what it is REALLY supposed to sound like.
@jarbasg1 Actually that is the tempo I was taught to be correct as well... there has to be perfect clarity of the lines for it to work (and she has that ) otherwise it sounds like mush. She is an amazing player.
so fast.. :D

The sound of the guitar is really beautiful. What´s mark of this quitar? Hauser, J.P.-Sardin?

Shredding? Ana? Not a word I would ever use in the same sentence with her playing.
Just an impeccable talent playing as her spirit moves her (I'm petty sure she could play it faster if that's what she was going after ;)

I don't think it's that much faster than you'd expect. Check out Perlman's interpretation...

I admit that her technique is excellent, but her interpretation is just plain, dry and tasteless. Hmm, maybe I'm dumb.
