@MzVan21 You can if you want. But as of now, I don't use a primer anymore with my powder or foundation. So in a sense.. for me it works as good either way. Try it out with and without a primer.. if you feel like there's not much difference and you could live without it.. i'd def skip the primer.
@Crys24 I just generally prefer myself with a lighter complextion so nc30 is a bit lighter. Both shades can blend in with my skin tone, although I choose the lighter one incase my skin or the foundation may "darken" during the day for whatever reason.
I'm NC35 too!!! Anyway I wear the pro long wear concealer with it in shade NW25. It's weird, I know but it looks good! I think I will get the setting spray tho!!!!
@crazyvicky124 I have very dry skin, and this is fine! as long as you don't need THAT much coverage to begin with. If you apply lightly it shouldn't be a problem. However if you're looking for better coverage AND you have dry skin, I wouldn't soley rely on this powder as your foundation. As of date, I just use this now as a setting powder for any areas I apply concealor.
@megn94 You can check the Mac website, but I think Fix+ spray is most commonly used as a "finishing spray" to set your makeup & create a dewy finish. For some, it makes their foundation/makeup last longer. For me personally, I don't notice a huge difference on lasting power.. I currently do not use fix+ spray.
Hey...your reviews were very good...about breakouts due to foundation... u can try smashbox cosmetics or from Estee Lauder..they carry better range for sensitive skin
This review really helped! I've been wanting a new powder for a while and decided to look into Mac ( unfortunately there are no face-to-face counters near me in England! ) So YouTube it is. Thanks for explaining the NC/NW because that confused me.
@puppetwithasmile It won't necessarily combat oily skin. but This does matteify my face, so yes I'd say it would take away the shine - not enhance it :)
@alexia0901 The studiofix powder will not completely cover acne/blemishes on it's own. You would need concealer. However, the studiofix Liquid would provide that coverage, if you wanted to skimp on the concealer business. :) hope this helps.
I am thinking about buying the Mac Studio Fix Powder, because it has great reviews, but I was wondering if it would be good for my skin, because I have oily skin. Can it reduce oil? I don't have much acne, but uneven tone (some acne) And does it last all day? Great review, thanks!
@LiLLiELOVEEE I have oily skin, and I don't see it necessarily REDUCE oil, but it does work quite well ... lol does that make sense? I don't have much acne either, just uneven skin like you. I can't say anything about it lasting all day, because I've only, so far, used it to go shopping, nothing like going to school where I do PE and all. But on relaxed days, yes, it lasts for me. [:
How long would you all (anyone) say that the MAC powder foundation lasts? I go through the CoverGirl powder compact each month. I would say that I wear powder like 4 or 5 times a week.
You are sooo cute =) I think I'm gonna get that soon after my studio fix fluid is done.. Im wondering how long does the product last as in how long does it take to finish? lol pardon my english im from quebec :(
I have super sensitive skin and I break out tooo, its noncomedgenic yay thats gooood my mom always tellls me to use noncomedgenic because it's better for my skin
THANK YOU!! i tried making up some explanation of what oxidizing means but YOU just broke it down simple!!! Thanks i couldnt even put it into words. LOL
Hi, thanks for the video. Your color looks like mine but I was given NC 40. I couldn't if it was my right shade in the store 'cause I already had my foundation on. But when I opened it at home the compact looked so light as compared to what it looked like in the store. Can you tell me what color really matches your skin tone and explain oxidization. Does mean the color changes over time? Is NC 30 lighter? And what's the difference between studio fix and studio fix plus? Thanks so much!
Hey! I personally use it alone over a primer because I want a lighter coverage. But if you're looking for full coverage, then you could use this powder as a setting powder over a liquid foundation, for the Extra coverage.. however you have to make sure it doesnt get too cakey! hope this helps.
NC does not mean needs cool, it just means neutral cool. in the MAC color wheel (which is based on the artists color wheel), yellow is cool. That is because they consider red to be warmer than yellow. So NW means neutral warm.
ive been using this for a while now but i feel like it looks like i have so much powder on my face, does this happen to you?? do u have any sugguestions??
I actually use a basic moisturizer,, the Cetephil Daily facial moisturizer with spf 15. I have tried most of the mac moisturizors, but they all broke me out.. if that helps.
i love how it made my skin look flawless but it broke me out so bad that i had to make myself stop using it and dont know what other foundation to use thats just as good.any suggestions?
hey um i was wondering if when you put this on will it rub on to your clothes? like if you were to wear a white shirt would it be all over it by the end of the day?
hey girl! well makeup on your face should not rub on to clothing in general, unless you're wearing a white long sleeve and you literally rub it against your face :T Other than that, the foundation should stay put :)
Hey! well I actually used a cheap curling iron. It is the revlon 1 inch. the barrel is silver. im sure you can find it anywhere -- i use the highest heat -.-
I am nc40 well I got it online I am nc35 in the concealer and on my other liquid foundations from mac and omg I was scared nc40 was going to be dark but its lighter then my other foundations so ladies be careful. Can you show us how to apply it with fix + because I usually spray some on when I am done but it still looks really powdery and u can totally tell I have foundation unlike when I use liquid or even other powders. Any Idea?
You can try spraying the fix plus all over your face before you apply the powder(after moisturizer) and then after you evenly apply the studio fix, swirl it once more in the powder evenly and then spray the brush with the fix plus and just go over the whole face again. It works for me = )
ahh i have dry skin but i don't wanna use liquid foundation cuz it feels masky. thanks for the review it helps alot. i'm gunna go to a mac counter now and check up on this powder. college students neeed quick makeup:]
If you have dry skin liquid foundations are better suited for your skin. Powders are better for people with oily skin. Also this specific powder is really heavy
Thanks for the review...it was great!!! I have a studio fix powder which I just started using it regularly...i'm kinda scared of breaking out...what do u think?
Ive been wanting to try this foundation out because its so convenient but i have oily/acne prone skin so can you let me know if it clogs your pores or make you shiny? keep on making more videos, there great! give it some time and im sure you'll get alot of subscribers for sure
On the mac-website it claims that the silica, will absorb oils and provide a matte finish. Also, this product has its ups and downs on many people. I guess the best thing to do is try it on your skin first. On the site : "The talc has been milled to a microscopic size to provide a beautiful texture while allowing the skin to breathe".
I hope this helps! thanks for all the support. take care love<3
