  • Not his fault skated to fast did not have time to stop

  • What a dirty piece of shit.

  • g3heavy,

In response to your comment under the video, you don't know what Lapierre's intentions were, so let's not make stuff up. I have no reason to believe that he wanted to hurt someone. Moreover, as this video clearly indicates, he was not the first nor the last to get a boarding call.

Lapierre's job was to lead the team in hits among other things. Of course he might go too far sometimes, but I don't think you are being fair at all. The Bruins (and all other teams) have their share of BS.

  • ya if you think he did it on purpose your retarded, ryder is the furthest thing from a dirty player. hes never even fought in the nhl. sorry that blake prolly had a stroke right before ryder hit him and im positive ryder didnt mean to hurt him. if you think that was a dirty hit then your pretty much saying matt cookes hit was clean on savard

  • aww comeau no coma

  • You are far more likely to hurt something on yourself or someone else when you try to evade a hit by swerving, turning away or ducking (ESPECIALLY DUCKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

  • Comeau made the mistake of trying to turn away from the player and the hit and as a result he paid the price. Ryder should obviously have tried to stop up more than he did but there was only so much he could do. I've seen this happen plenty of times in hockey and it has taught me how to position myself to take a hit. In my mind you are far better off taking a big hit and being prepared than you are trying to dodge it and get out of the way.

  • It was an unfortunate hit, but Comeau has to take some of the blame for it. He broke the first rule you are taught when body checking starts in hockey; don't turn your back to the other player you will have no way to protect yourself.

  • fighting and hits from behind and to the head have to be taken out of the game.

hockey should be about skill, not brute force and kicking peoples ass

also, habs suck. go leafs go

  • Losers

    Even

    After

    Fourthy

    Seasons

    Go habs go!

  • @xvincx Fourthy? nice.

  • * my bad lol, i didn't chek what i wrote XD

    **Forty lol

  • Americanized*

  • itll never be taken out of the game, you can't stop people from doing it you can only penalize them for it

  • you're no canadian if you think thata

  • wow, it was a hit from behind, not boarding, wow refs are gay

  • was a cleanish hit he didnt crush him just rubbed him out, ryder woujdnt do that not a dirty player .

  • crazy dance master could take a hit like dat

  • Don't like Ryder but it wasn't even close to being his fault. He was just finishing a check Comeau blew a tire and bent ahead a bit when Ryder was finishing his check.

  • i disagree. He say the guys numbers and hit him from behind. I don't think he expected that result, but it happened.

  • Lol yea Ryder's not the type of person to do that. He just read Comeau wrong. Anyone who has ever backchecked in their life, by looking at how Ryder is moving, can see it was not intentional.

He meant to hit Comeau, but I don't think he thought Comeau would try to turn back around. And so he exposed his back and it was too late.

Unfortunate for both players but stop arguing. Good to see Comeau get up.

PS, no bias, i'm a habs fan. this is just my take on it.

  • Wasn't even a dirty hit, thats 90% Comeau's fault. If a guy is following you into the corner turn sideways and absorb the hit

  • How many times do we have to advocate for no-touch icing in the NHL, numerous players ended their careers or had significant dropoffs after taking these hits. This is just the latest bad and might I add unfortunate hit. It's time to get serious.

  • @hmsrenown that wasn't an icing douche...

  • i'm all for player safety but a no-touch icing is something the nhl does not need. after watching the olympics it was frustrating to see icing after icing being called when the opposition team could of clearing beaten out the icing call.

besides this wasn't even an icing situation. the islanders moved the puck past centre ice

  • Comeau's fault, plain and simple.

I don't udnerstand why players constantly do that, turn there backs last minute.

  • @Inflicter because they figure they'll draw a penalty and maybe they won't get hurt.

  • so how many games does ryder now get if maxim got 4 games???????

  • @abyssiniaboy that's far from being the same situation...Ryder should not get suspended

  • Unfortunately he might not even get suspended, see the difference is that when a Canadian team player does a dirty hit(even though I though Lapierre's hit wasn't as excessive) there is outcry in the U.S media but when its a U.S team player there is sympathy and mercy, I even heard a sportscaster say that the hit was clean even this idiot defends Ryder saying that Ryder expected blake to go behind the net, its just getting ridiculous.

  • not ryders fault it was scotts fault. he should have never turned his back on a player chasing him to the boards with the puck, ryder is expected to finish a check and at the last second scott gave him his back. some times i wonder if these stupid players turn their backs on purpose to sucker people into a penilty

  • i meant blake not scott

  • expects him to go behind the net? ha. you can see him lining his shoulder up with the middle of comeau's back...dirty deeds

  • @davedewolfe13 It doesn't look like to me he expects him to go behind the net either, I don't think he expected him to drop the way he did and I think he was expecting Comeau to turn towards him and just give a shoulder to shoulder rub. I have watched Ryder alot and its just not in him to be dirty. Notice no one went after Ryder cause it was just not like him

  • @crazyprime yeah I've seen ryder play a lot and I know he's far from a dirty player, I actually like him...heat of the moment, bad decision, unfortunate outcome...that's hockey I suppose

  • Yeah, I agree. Besides, right before the whistle blows, you see Ryder kind of stop playing and raise his hand, maybe trying to signal the ref, as if to say "whoops, stop the play."

  • @davedewolfe13 you probably watched the video 4-5 times you had time to evaluate the situation,Ryader had just 1 sec to react to comeau's move...obviously you never played contact hockey,do you know how fast this game is???????

  • i think he expects him to go behind the net. lol. yah maybe in another 15 seconds thats about how long it would have taken him to get to the net cause hes so far away. he was in no mand lad.

  • I think Ryder espects Comeau to go behind the net what the fuck instead he goes the other way and he get fucked in no mans land and bagn his head!

  • That kind of hit is no more dangerous than the Lapierre hit's vs Boston, Comeau is near of the band, and you can see in the video that Ryder was triyng to slow down... but the play that Matt Cooke has do tonight again Marc Savard, will be punish.

  • crazyprime you must be retarded he hit him from behind ....there has to be a suspension

  • You must be a retarded Islander fan to be saying this crap and not know anything about hockey. Try playing it and watching it for 30 years. They always look at the type of player doing the act, and Ryder has never been that type of player. Lapierre is a dirty scum player so he got suspended, and I say this being a Habs fan.

  • Not a Bruins fan at all, being Habs fan. Ryder is not a dirty player at all, should be no suspension in my opinion. Wasn't like he could avoid it easily. Ryder is a class act, so not hate needed.

  • hahahah read the hockey manual. you can't hit from behind dumbass. obvious suspension.

  • hahahah don't need to read a hockey manual, and its called a rule book dumbass. I guess your not a Canadian. In some situations its hard to avoid a hit from behind, intentional hits yes are up for suspensions, otherwise it needs to be reviewed.

  • you need to read a manual so you can learn something about hockey kid. and yes he could of easily stopped, OR, could of not hit the guy? not like he was forced to crush the guy into the boards.

  • @JKennedy2234 Glad you called me a hockey kid, but I am not a kid and have been around along time and seen many bad hits and good hits. So best to just shut up retard.

  • you're a retard if you think this hit is clean.

  • @JKennedy2234 haha you obviously never played real hockey...kid

  • Suspension IMO

  • Comment removed

  • big tough ryder...the giant goon...hes the george laraque of the bruins...ha

dude what a weak call, the only reason he got tossed is because that vag milked it.

  • Exactly, I wonder if Comeau will win an Oscar tonight for that performance.

  • That's a penalty!?!

If Comeau doesn't stay down...gets up immediately and stays involved in the play...no penalty.

  • im not a bruins fan, but on the replay, the guy was almost on his knees, that takes like 1second, Ryder can't change his check.
