A million Thank Yous for posting this! I recently became aware of the Macdon rap song that uses this hook and...just from the sound of it I knew there was No Way this was a new sng. KWIM. It just had such a classic vibe & feel to it. I'm not surprised to find it comes from one of my fave acts of yesteryear. And I love this vid of just playing the record. Great vid on every level. :)
Wow, I give you props not only for enjoying the oldie but for actually having the 45 and a record player! Also, they have a remix of this song which is really good, funny video, the beat is modernized and it still sounds good. Its by Madcon - Beggin. Enjoy!
Great Northern Soul classic. Timebox (British Mod band) did a good version just after this. The original used to get most play at the all nighters I went to.
OK, .. this is unreal ,.. not only is this pretty much the only original version of this song on youtube , but its just a vid of the record! Amazing man Great Freaking job
This is one hell of a good record. I don't know why they couldn't make a hit of this, but as you mentioned Madcon had a smash with this. Palooski had pretty big dance hit with the remix of this as well.
Take care of this. These styrene 45s wear out quickly
I wish i was alive then! Lol, but I can make the best out of finding songs now and learn a lot more with the internet so I guess I'm pretty lucky in a lot of ways to be able to enjoy music of the 50's and 60's
@JesseCC13 damn right. its great to be able to have such a mix of songs at our finger tips. i think we are the lucky ones now. This song was actually written by Bob Gaudio for The Four Seasons. He wrote many classics.
You know that p-diddy sampled this recently I think for one of his songs, or at the least I saw it, like in a remixed version, (just the instrumental part near the beginning of the song) in a commercial, I thought they did a good job, always knew someone would sample this one day!
I know that theres a band called Madcon who did a cover version with rapping in it. I didnt know p-diddy did anything with the song. I'll look into finding it so I can hear it!

This song seems so out-of-its-time. This is DEFINITELY not something you'd expect that came from the 60s. UNBELIEVABLE.

@losroftheday I agree, the song feels more attuned to our modern day rather then the 60's. I love songs that are ahead of their time.

@knox11 check out archie bell's "Tighten Up"

@losroftheday I totally hear you. I can't even begin to describe the sound and place it in a time period. The only word that comes to mind is "cool"
That being said, the way it sounds on here, I can only wonder how amazing the actual turntable must sound...

@losroftheday I hear you! To me it sounds closer to the funk music of the 1970s! This is funkadelic!

Very enjoyable method of making a music video. I'd stare that record on a big screen.

I love this song; I'm possibly going to perform it with some of my friends. Also, I love the fact that it still holds up so well on vinyl.
