  • my tram makes this sound when it drives. now i love night drivig because i always imagine the joker will sit right next to me :)

  • I am the 170,000!

  • the start build up reminds me of the the unstoppable force

  • When I saw this in the cinema, and that build up at the start of this track got so tense, I reckon everyone in that cinema's pulse went off the chart.

  • @SawFanVI I guess the level of urine in their pants also went off the chart.

  • 1:36 is so great!

  • The best actor work of all time? Joker in The Dark Knight.

    /end.

  • is anyone else OBSESSED with he creepy build up from 0:00 to 1:10 iukkhfd O:

  • your the best :)

  • @rooneyfan6292 While I appreciate it, I don't think so...

  • @opus289 lol okay but thanks anyway for putting this up looking for this for ages :)

  • @opus289 Why so serious?

  • with sopa this video would be deleted ...

  • @Sintrael

yes and no. in germany we have GEMA which is much like SOPA and it does remove some videos especially pop music videos but this video for example and many others slip through and are still up

  • @christianmatthe1

that´s actually just not true .... gema forbids music that is not payed by the musicans/studios and so on (to make it simple) acta/sopa is a whole new level you need to look more to east to get a feeling about what could be..

  • @christianmatthe1 ich bin aus deutschland aber sopa ist nicht wie die gema ... eher wie eine generalvollmacht für die gestapo...

  • christopher nolan and hans zimmer have made batman the best hero ever and joker the best villain ever

  • luv this man

  • it will soon be censored by SOPA :(

  • @Gam3rLove SOPA's finished.

  • @Awesome1271 yep :D

  • at 2:30 everybody get down on the Grown now!! this is a Robery

  • He sticks the blade in my mouth...and...

  • eh look at me......LOOK. AT. ME!!?!!

  • 4 people are way too serious

  • 0:34 can you keep it down, I'm trying to blow up the other ship here.

  • Why so Serious?! Man. That line sometimes gives me the chills but I like it.

  • let´s put a smile on 4 faces

  • God I seriously cannot get enough of that violen intro

  • opus, i love you

  • it's all part of the plan...

  • Remember Kids, just because it's good music doesn't mean that you need to listen to it all the ti-Who am I kidding? REPLAY BUTTON HERE I COME!!!

  • It got epic around 1:39 c:

  • @ElegantSkies It got epic around 0:00.

  • "oooh you look nervous... is it the scars? You wanna know how i got 'em?"

    One word: EPIC!

  • And Zimmer said he wanted people to hate this...

  • @TheVehicleDESTROYAH why?!?!?

  • "Five shares is plenty."

"Six shares, don't forget the guy who planned the job."

"He sits it out and still thinks he can have a slice, I know why they call him the Joker."

  • You want to know how I got these scars?

  • "Criminals in this town used to believe in things. Honor, respect. Look at you! What do you believe in, huh? What do you believe in?!"

"I believe, that whatever doesn't kill you simply makes you - stranger."

  • I swear this would be the perfect soundtrack for Marble Hornets.

  • ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)

    Y U SO SERIOUS?!

  • lets put a smile on that face!!! :)

  • no dicription availiable you're damn right.

  • The sound made in the beginning is made with the Chello.

An electric Chello te be exact. :)

  • @Sergeantspoon idont even know my instruments that well and i know it's "cello". Jesus

  • @killdatguy41

I'm Dutch, can't blame me for my English. :)

  • @Sergeantspoon And even a Electric Cello, to be more exact ^^ And the Cello is here all along the piece, with also an electric guitar and some razor blades.

  • the first 120 seconds define something right there, right here.

  • So intense, i LOVE IT

  • That starting sound that defines The Joker... Those quiet basses which jump around the stereo panning... various strange quiet sounds closer to the end and then the loud violin/foghorn combination and then just the violins with the heavy plucked bass, the booming sounds that remind me of gunshots, and the guitar finale... but what I will always remember as the best part is near the beginning. BA-DUMMM-BA-DUMMMMMMM-BA-DUMMM-BA-DUMMMMMM!!! It's the single most epic BA-DUM ever in music.

  • @vanishy0urself

    I dunno....you ever seen JAWS?

    BA-DUUUM....BA-DUM-BA-DUM...

Yeah try NOT imagining that next time you swim

    >:D

  • @vancecoledotcom 2:29-2:39 the Jaws theme doesn't have anything like that.

  • @vanishy0urself

I know, I was just being silly

    :P

  • can't wait for harley quinn in the dark knight rises

  • @Mitsunari606 I won't. They won't be showing Joker, no reason to show harley :(

Although if harley did show, it'd be twice the madness.

  • 3:29 - 3:51 I wasn't sure whether my eardrums were ringing from the awesomeness of the soundtrack or if that was actually part of the music.

  • This movie would have been so much better without the gay batman shit...It could have been one of the best drama/suspense cop movies and instead was wasted on some childish comic book fantasy...

  • @megaterra69

You realize this movie would be nothing if it wasn't for Batman? Sure we all wish it was something more realistic but you have to realize that Christopher Nolan made this movie so that it WAS realistic, so that the idea of Batman could become REAL. I wish that it wasn't some childish superhero in this movie, but I realized that it's not him at all, it's much more than that :P

  • @AngelixArch I agree, for sure. Although it's still not going to stop me from cringing every time a good scene is somewhat made into a childish joke once a full grown man walks into the room wearing a cape and a batsuit :( Great movie though.

  • @megaterra69

Lol, yeah I get that feeling sometimes too :P But you have to remember that this is NOLAN'S Batman... Nolan wanted to make him realistic, instead of a child's super hero... :P

  • four persons reminds me of the jocker's father

  • Joker's theme in Batman: TAS = what it's like inside the Joker's head.

'Why So Serious' = what it's like for everyone *around* the Joker

  • The Sound of Anarchy!!!!

  • Holly Soundtracks Batman..!

  • The quiet bass at 3:27 makes me feel so uneasy...

  • hans zimmer best composer ever

he made such greatest hits that i don't remember them all because they are hell of them!

  • @Obid95 Akira Yamaoka is better. The Silent Hill Soundtracks fuse into the gameplay.

  • Two words: Hans Zimmer...

  • No matter how I listen to this, the unease and uncertainty I get from listening from 03:02 - 05:40 and then some.

  • Totally Shpongle

  • "kill---the Batman!"

  • I like part 5:18 - 5:39, Hans Zimmer: Genius

  • In the movie, I didn't see Heath Ledger. I didn't see an actor playing as the Joker. I did not see Heath Ledger as the Joker. All I saw was just the Joker.

  • this song really verifies the "Joker" you can't predict anything in this song....so chaotic

  • oh, god, this is so disturbing. Which is why it's so damn brilliant. You just can't get enough - Zimmer and Newton Howard are geniuses.

  • BANK MANAGER: Oh, criminals in this town used to believe in things. Honor. Respect. Look at you! What do you believe in, huh? WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE IN?

THE JOKER: I believe whatever doesn't kill you, simply makes you... (takes off mask) ...stranger. (grins)

  • "You wanna know how I got these scars?" XD

  • That first part is just amazing

  • can i get a download link for this track..want to listen to it evry now n then on my ipod :)

  • @UnionKid15 You're quite welcome!

  • God I love this song. Zimmer really did a fantastic job.

  • batman and robin dislike? Oo

  • The Joker's theme. It's like a hive of raging bees. It gets louder and louder until it...stings.

  • Joker laugh hehahehehe

  • i can't believe zimmer didn't get an oscar this year!!! he is truly the freaking master!

  • One of us is not serious enough.

  • de source of all evil, eh ?

  • Why so serious 1 guy who disliked this!

  • Joker disliked this song...

  • @y13hargav yeah its just bulging a little bit.. . proboably from editing software i noticed it too

  • I think the victim of Joker's pencil trick survived.

How else do you explain the one dislike?

  • jeez did zimmer deliberately write a piece to test out your speakers?

  • Why Batman dislaked this? D:

  • @y13hargav that's the acid kicking in

  • put killer croc in the new movie XD

  • gamble came back from the dead and disliked this

  • The Joker's father disliked this video

  • I wonder what Bane's theme will sound like in TDKR?

  • This son IS Joker

  • i couldnt find the comment about starting this one then 15 secs later starting aggressive expansion and having them play together but it remembered it and its soooo good

  • Chuck norris pressed the dislike button. hes intimidated by the joker!

  • No,no,no I kill the bus driver.

  • Batman created an youtube account just to "dislike" music...

  • Lets put a smile on one persons face

  • But if i say that one little mair will die, well then everybody looses their mind!! (handing the gun to Dent) Introduce a little anarchy.

  • listening to this on headphones really fucks you up. the left and right is fantastic.

  • The joker was just insane. No sympathy, no remorse, just pure evil and Ledger really made it all believable! ;)

  • I'm making a playlist of the most epic music I know of to listen to when I play Halo... this goes in. :)

  • my new mash up of smile vs 308 jerome isma and sebastian kreig........youtube.com/watch?v=oAnGuZ98ykM

  • 1 person was serious!

  • 6:38

"Introduce a little anarchy, upset the established over and everything becomes......CHAOSSSS, I'm an agent of chaos. Oh, and you know the thing about chaos? It's fear."

  • @Greatbonzz fair, i thought it was fear, but captions say fair

  • Sanity removed by user

  • 1:10 always gives me chills :) well done Zimmer, well done

  • One Person is taking this a bit too seriously...

  • So why don't we put a smile on his face? *grins*

  • one person is gonna get owned by the magic pencil trick

  • Comment removed

  • I wouldn't listen to this music for its own sake. It's honestly not that good...

But, I will say that it fits the character well. The twisted emotional state of the Joker matches this tormented music.

  • @Derathir How is it not good. What in this perfect song is bad?

  • @malicios Some parts are just noise for the sake of noise, rather than actual music. That's my only complaint. Otherwise, it's reasonably good.

  • @Derathir because this is not entirely a song on it's own. it's composed specially for the movie and is meant to blend in with the drama on the screen, hence the 'noise'.

  • @mrruixiangz I agree. It does well in the movie. I was simply stating that "I wouldn't listen to this music for its own sake." It's very suitable, just not quite as good on its own.

  • The joker truly shows what can happen if a villain were to come into being so twisted that he could send the world in chaos . . . an agent of chaos!

  • @PreVizsla That's true, except that's another TDK song...that's a good statement anyways. :)

  • @theimpossiblers Yeah I was redirecting it to that song actually. I like it just as much as this one. :)

  • @PreVizsla Chaos is another form of madness, as he says "Upset the established balance and everything falls to chaos" and chaos is playtime for the mad men to play

  • 3:27

  • Kinda sounds like NIN

  • @jimnbobproductions Yeah the track does add that sense of danger.

  • The title of the next film is confirmed to be 'The Dark Knight Rises' by Christopher Nolan. He also confirmed that The Riddler is NOT the villain. Go to IGN for more.

  • Thanks for the upload

  • the creator of this piece is the einstein of OSTs

  • @tonyt0ny

Hans Zimmer has always been a genius.

  • I love this. The music is very dark, creepy, and frightening. And yet, the title asks, 'why so serious'. Interesting paradox.

  • Wanna know how I got my high heels? My father was a transvestite, and a whore. One night he came home in a bikini as usual, mommy didn't like that, not one bit so me watching she got a stilletto laughing while she did it, she turned to me and said " be like him"..."be like him" she stuck the shoe onto my foot " lets see you run in these" and........... now you can see me at the street corner at 9.00pm on fridays!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!

  • HEATH LEDGER FOR THE WIN!

  • Play this one upto 0:10, then stop. Then start agressive expansion from 0:0 and this one from 0:10 together. MAGIC!

  • Epic...

Hans Zimmer deserves a medal for this

  • The first thrity seconds is like the main theme of the book of eli

  • Do you want to know how I made these scars? My father was an alcoholic and a manic and a night of even more crazy than usual, Mom took a kitchen knife to defend herself, but he does not like either ... a ... little. So, while I watch them, strikes with a knife, laughing while he does. He turns to me and says "why are you so serious?" Coming at me with a knife. "Why are you so serious?" And I stuck the knife in his mouth. "We have a beautiful smile on that little face!"

  • @CrazyDaveXC hope that was your own take on his speech because you fuckin butchered it.

  • @jayarcidiacono This is the translation of the Italian version

  • @CrazyDaveXC

i truly hope you DO NOT think seriously that the speech went like that. You totally fucked it up! ....

  • @Judges01 This is the translation of the Italian version

  • Do you wanna know how I got these scars? Well, my father was a drinker... and a fiend. And one night, he comes home crazier than usual. Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn't like that. Not... one... bit. So, me watching, he takes the knife to her, laughing while he does it. He turns to me and says, "Why so serious?" He comes at me with the knife "Why... so... serious?!" Sticks the blade in my mouth, "let's put a smile on that face!" And... Why so serious? (The right way)

  • That last big was aimmed at none other then, CrazyDaveXC. Couldn't add the @CrazyDaveXC cause the actual speech is so long. cheers all

  • @CrazyDaveXC Let me do it the RIGHT way...

Do you wanna know how I got these scars? My father...was a drinker...and a fiend. One night he goes off crazier than usual... Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself...oh...he doesn't like that..one..BIT. He takes the knife through her...laughing while doing so...me watching...he turns to me...WHY SO SERIOUS? comes at with with the knife...WHY SO SERIOUS? sticks the blade in my mouth...LET'S PUT A SMILE ON THAT FACE...and..........why so serious?

  • @burnmehdown214 ...to defend herself.. He doesn't like that, "not, one, bit. So, me watching," he takes the knife "TO" her. .. while "he does it". ... he turns to me, "and he says: ".... etc rest in correct.

    I know it by heart.

  • @aymthebest Ha. Don't blame me for mistakes man, I just got dumbfounded by that one guy's interpretation, read it and be horrified X(

  • the metal sound looked like sum error in the reel in the theater.... :P annoying...::XXX

  • Naaaaaais....

  • 6:37

It's why I love this piece

  • 0 dislikes !!
