It took Bill a few shows to get his gear in order, and he said as much in a fairly recent interview. Later shows sound much better, even through amateur camera audio. I love that he played a few shows with his 50's Les Paul Junior! Firebird rules!

This show was one of the first (if not the first... not sure) of the reunion shows, before Bill had worked out the kinks in his own sound. He discovered quickly that he needed more punch in his sound in subsequent shows. The band was also quite rusty at this point, but still sound good. Later shows (like Graspop 2010 and Neurotic Deathfest 2010) are crushingly great shows!

To all you kids bitching about Bill's guitar being out of tune : IT'S NOT OUT OF TUNE. That particular riff where it sounds like it is out of tune is a harmony with Mike playing the lower notes and Bill playing the higher notes. The recorded sound has Bill's guitar louder than Mike's, so you're hearing alot more of Bill than Mike, and that's why it doesn't sound right or balanced. Couple that with the fact that Bill hardly used any gain in his sound, and there you have it.

There were no stage fuckups. Besides, all that is up to the crew. All bands do sound checks before the show so if Carcass wanted their guitars tuned a tad bit higher they would have told the crew.
