It is listed on HMV UK site but not on Amazon.

Everything I have with Ton Koopman is great.

I haven't liked Mr. Koopman's other attempts at Vivaldi, but this is an excellant performance of one of my favorite concertos.

Ah, that photo! Modern instruments really are quite ugly, a difference contrasted especially highly with oboes.

Marcel is awesome! Met him many years ago when he was here in Melbourne, Australia. I still have his baroque oboe that he and his brother made in 2001. Thanks for posting this!

The maker tuned this oboe to a blue color which gives it that veiled,smokey distant timbre which really makes this recording.

I'm not sure I'd consider the sound blue myself, although now that I listen to it, I can see it, although I'd go with a sort of deep violet myself, perhaps with a smidgen of light wood grain.

I'm sure that I don't have any idea as to what I'm talking about but nevertheless I somewhat disagree and suspect that it is significantly more-so the reed, and the voice and method of the performer rather than the tuning that is yielding the color you observe.
