really thank you for updating this. appreciate it a lot. I'm his son presently living in Japan now. Just came across your interview on search.
He's my hero & most respected soccer player. I was born in 1976 the year Nigeria withdrew from Montreal Olympic, but knew how much he suffered with the game.
NFA owe him & the '73 squad a reward for their effort in the progress of the game in the country. only few people knows that.
May HIS soul & those of his mates RIP, Amen.

What a hero! Not for money? Very well done to you sir.
No disrespect to ugbade cos he has a point, but this guy is head and shoulders above him for talking about pride of defending the green colours and not lamenting about not getting paid.

I'll never forget how Zum's Ilerika and Ajagun demolished ICY at Onikan Stadium- Principal Cup Final. I'm a Finbarrian by the way- that was one year we let 'em have the cup in the 70's.

HARUNA ILERIKA was the consumate soccer artiste and magician with his deft left foot.
I am privileged to have watched him perform many times on the soccer field in his prime. May he rest in peace and heartfelt condolences to his family.

How I wish to see a video of the match against Guinea Haruna Ilerika talked about. The man is well versed in football, I enjoy this interview every detail was described so vividly that it seems it was just yesterday. Thank you so much for posting this video heroiceagles. has this intelligent ex-eagle player wrote any book? if not he needs to be encourage to do so. as he said their kind are the mentor that the new era needs to emulate in every aspect of the game. Nigeria has to rise again and bogo tin je ti olorun loke it will rise again...

This is a great clipse..all those guys who taped over our archives tapes while working for NTA OR NTV should be ashamed1..Theyve robbed Nigeria of our history..You can see the passion in this guys when he speaks..and isnt it amazing Mr Ilerika"s brain for details?Remembering all these dates and names like it was 2 weeks ago?And he is as entertaining on tele as he was on the pitch...Haruna dakun jowo,ye ge won lege sere...
