Glad to be born in my era of the 90's. And Im still growing up as a teen in this one (2 thousands).
But I <3 this music. But that doesn't mean i would want to be born in that one. Cause women here in this time have freedom and have more opportunism then in that one. Free love and free speech.
...let me have a Three Musketeers, and a ball point pen, and one of those combs there, a pint of Old Harper, a couple of flash light batteries and some beef jerky.....
one of my all time favorites on the jute box back in the 50s at the greasy spoon on mack ave. and alter road in detroit home to the sinners hot rod club 1955 56 57
One of the top five doo wop songs. Earth Angel, Sincerely,Good Night Sweetheart,Oop Shoop and In the still of the night. It is hard to pick which one I love the best.
One of my wost favorite songs in the whole world, from the age of innocence and when you danced slow with your partner. How romantic, those were the days
This song brings tears my eyes...one of my very favorite of all times!! This song was playing on the radio the first time my husband, then fiance held me in his arms....we have been married now over forty WONDERFUL years!! I can listen to it over and over and over.......what a precious time life was back then. Music and movies were wonderful...clean and truly romantic...so sad now...there will never be a time like it again....How great to go to a dance and just have fun again!
Highlander -- I'm 64 years old. Wasn't this always a "lady's choice" at the sock hops in the gym? Couldn't wear shoes because we would scuff the basketball floor. God those were simple times. JFK in the White House, Marilyn in Hollywood, and R&R just finding it's legs. I loved the Beatles, but they changed everything and killed do-wop. Great times. Glad I grew up then.
never can I forget those days by gone... I pray I can listen to all these tunes when I hit heaven gate.... this is what keeps me going... 65 yrs here, still going strong... thank you every...every...body for all this.. as clint says...MAKE MY DAY..... the Highlander here...
My gosh..I'm Mexican and I love this classic music..I imagine myself Juan Felipe The Black Diamond Alvarez..listening this songs in the concerts..I was born in the wrong generation
HMmmmm, I remember " Melting Down " the girl I was "Slowing Dancing " with doing the " Grind " when this song came on...LoL..I was King of the Meltdown..Mmmmm. Guess I better not go into anymore detail then that.. ;-P
@Nickie0016 not at all, life was shit back then, war, raceism, homophobia, christianity was pretty much the only accepted religion. you would have been ripped to shreads.

i turned 13 in the summer of 1958 ... hair slicked back ... listening to this song come .... floatin' .... across the calm lake in the dark of the night with my girl and me laying on the beach blanket lookin' up at the moon and the falling stars... someone plugging the juke box so the tune would play twenty times an hour ... the music and excitement of teenagers finding their independant voices filled our hormones with rocket fucking fuel baby
I grew up with this music and it is just as great today as it was in the 50's & 60's, it will never go out of style because as the younger generations hear it ,they discover it is REAL music that has stood the test of time and in some respects MAY account for them being here!
Now THIS is real music. Not all the crap they play today on the radio. The 50s were the best! I wish I was growing up then, it seemed like such a nice time period!
i was born in 78 and believe either i was born extremely late or, i lived a passed life in those decades...i can never get enough of the 50's and 60's music
I was born in 57,but that's the music I grew up with.As far as being a teenager I was one before my time.I looked older than I really was and nobody ever questioned it.So I was a teenager when I was 11...but life was diferent then.We were all more respectful. So most of us never went to far. Those were the best years and that was the best music.Don't get me wrong.I like alot of other music to,but this is special, the growing up years, when me and my sister became teenagers together. Now she's gone
Not that I don't like current music, but this music is pure talent with real instruments. Instrument have almost became obsolete in the music world :/
What's amazing is that the 50's most exciting and memorable period pop music wise was from 55 to 59...a mere 4 years that will affect humans for many more decades....I would throw in the first 3 years of the 60's into it as well.
Hey rennyshelton...don't feel bad. I'm also born in '47 and love this music to the fullest. Then came the '60s and now WE ARE teen agers! and we still jam with this music. I know every generation has it's music but I strongly believe this is just one of a kind that many teens now a days will never get to know its full impact. This music was - meant - and is...LOVE!
I was almost a teenager in the 50's (born in '47), but I grew up with this music and still love it. My father introduced me to music. He had a bunch of old 78's that ran the gamut from Count Basie to Grandpa Jones. I loved his music and introduced him to some of mine. He loved Chuck Berry, but never got into Elvis.
On one hand, I love being able to have the internet, on the other hand, the 50s were better in just about every other regard, so its really no contest... fire up the flux capacitor Doc!
it is funny how some white people actually sing some of the best oldies and Otis now us Chicanos (mexicans) putting this loud in our low riders crusin on beautiful Sunday afternoons♥
This song is older than me! However, its a classic! I remember that in the 1970s, WCBS FM in New York City used to have music surveys and this song always come in at Number 1!
@morticianman24 My older brother had a 56 Chev Green/White trim. He would take me for rides, just crusing.
He was so Cool. Looked like James Dean. He and I, now look back, and we both realized IT was THEN. THAT was good times. He had the love of his life. I was looking for mine. Found her. TGTBT.
@MsAliigirl I was and wish I could go back to that romantic, peaceful era when some of the best music ever came to be. godamnit I hate when people say ALL music of today sucks. sure, popular music today sucks, how about you actually listen to something besides the radio and do some searching for good music... I gaurantee you'll find great music from tody....
i am in love with this song and have slowed danced to it severl times the 50s and 60s was the best and i love it i am 20 years old thank u fellow people who like this
I can remember slow dancing to this, holding her close, feeling my heart beat so fast, so innocent....The best music and the best of times......So fleeting.....
@GTech006 yeah i love my generation, just not the cars or music. well we cant call that computerized crap music can we? how about we just call it an unpleasant sound.
i love dubstep but its crazy we got from this to dubstep how the times change.

@MsAliigirl I was and wish I could go back to that romantic, peaceful era when some of the best music ever came to be. I looked forward every week to the new list of "The Top 40" at the small grocery market where I worked in 1957-58 preparing to go to college. And ELVIS was at his peak. Long live the 50s!

@MsAliigirl. I dont think you would because of all sexism and racism during the era.

godamnit I hate when people say ALL music of today sucks. sure, popular music today sucks, how about you actually listen to something besides the radio and do some searching for good music... I gaurantee you'll find great music from tody....
