But I <3 this music. But that doesn't mean i would want to be born in that one. Cause women here in this time have freedom and have more opportunism then in that one. Free love and free speech.

This song was playing on the radio the first time my husband, then fiance held me in his arms....we have been married now over forty WONDERFUL years!! I can listen to it over and over and over.......what a precious time life was back then. Music and movies were wonderful...clean and truly romantic...so sad now...there will never be a time like it again....How great to go to a dance and just have fun again!

  • @DaDMoMW Times change. Get over it. There's no point comparing it today, there's no going back.

  • Highlander -- I'm 64 years old. Wasn't this always a "lady's choice" at the sock hops in the gym? Couldn't wear shoes because we would scuff the basketball floor. God those were simple times. JFK in the White House, Marilyn in Hollywood, and R&R just finding it's legs. I loved the Beatles, but they changed everything and killed do-wop. Great times. Glad I grew up then.

  • @Mr59Iron

Wish I could of grown up back then; it sounds so wonderful.

  • @sTapleEVA

I know what you are saying, although even now 2012 we still have those issues.

  • @sTapleEVA

If life was so "shitty" back then how come you survived???!!!

  • @sTapleEVA

For a young dude who was not around in the Fifties you seem to know a lot of what you don't know jack shit. If you don't like the Fifties what the fuck are you doing TROLLING around these videos?

  • @ElCid48 what am i doing? whatever the fuck i want, lol enjoy your soon to be death

  • i turned 13 in the summer of 1958 ... hair slicked back ... listening to this song come .... floatin' .... across the calm lake in the dark of the night with my girl and me laying on the beach blanket lookin' up at the moon and the falling stars... someone plugging the juke box so the tune would play twenty times an hour ... the music and excitement of teenagers finding their independant voices filled our hormones with rocket fucking fuel baby

  • AN ALLTIME BEST OLDIE!!!! THNX!!!!

  • i wish autotune was never made

  • wow livin in the 50s would be fantastic. all the cars, the music, the food, wow!

  • I grew up with this music and it is just as great today as it was in the 50's & 60's, it will never go out of style because as the younger generations hear it ,they discover it is REAL music that has stood the test of time and in some respects MAY account for them being here!

  • @best music in the world, wish we were still in that era. most music nowadays sucks.

  • I WAS THIS TEENAGER IN THIS TIME OF THIS SONG CAME OUT!

    HOW LUCKY WAS THAT!

I WAS IN JR HIGH SCHOOL 1960-1963 DANCING TO ALL THESE EARLY 60'S SONGS!

    LOVING MY LIFE!

    FANTASTIC MEMORIES!

THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST SLOW, SLOW DANCES OUT THERE TODAY, YESTERDAY, TOMORROW!

    JUST LOVE IT!

    SCHEDOOLE !!!!

  • great tunes...back when they knew how to make music. not like the crap these days.

  • awwww i wanna dance to this at my wedding!!!

  • I just realized how much the young Ron Howard looks like MacAuley Culkin.

  • thumbs up if you live in Modesto:)

  • God has this on his ipod!

  • this song came out in 1956? if Marty traveled back in time to 1955 in Back To The Future, then how was this song playing, lol.

  • American Grafitti + pure great oldies=One classic movie.

  • Now THIS is good music...

  • Gives me a shiver down my spine every time I hear this

  • Now THIS is real music. Not all the crap they play today on the radio. The 50s were the best! I wish I was growing up then, it seemed like such a nice time period!

  • why is AK47bandit in the video's tags???? hahhahhaahhh

  • i was born in 78 and believe either i was born extremely late or, i lived a passed life in those decades...i can never get enough of the 50's and 60's music

  • I was born in 57,but that's the music I grew up with.As far as being a teenager I was one before my time.I looked older than I really was and nobody ever questioned it.So I was a teenager when I was 11...but life was diferent then.We were all more respectful. So most of us never went to far. Those were the best years and that was the best music.Don't get me wrong.I like alot of other music to,but this is special, the growing up years, when me and my sister became teenagers together. Now she's gone

  • Not that I don't like current music, but this music is pure talent with real instruments. Instrument have almost became obsolete in the music world :/

  • im 42 wish i had seen the 50s and 60s love the music i always have from being small.

todays music isnt music its just a noise.

  • When pop music had instruments.. and the singers could sing.

  • What's amazing is that the 50's most exciting and memorable period pop music wise was from 55 to 59...a mere 4 years that will affect humans for many more decades....I would throw in the first 3 years of the 60's into it as well.

  • Hey rennyshelton...don't feel bad. I'm also born in '47 and love this music to the fullest. Then came the '60s and now WE ARE teen agers! and we still jam with this music. I know every generation has it's music but I strongly believe this is just one of a kind that many teens now a days will never get to know its full impact. This music was - meant - and is...LOVE!

  • I was almost a teenager in the 50's (born in '47), but I grew up with this music and still love it. My father introduced me to music. He had a bunch of old 78's that ran the gamut from Count Basie to Grandpa Jones. I loved his music and introduced him to some of mine. He loved Chuck Berry, but never got into Elvis.

  • rude against black people?

  • On one hand, I love being able to have the internet, on the other hand, the 50s were better in just about every other regard, so its really no contest... fire up the flux capacitor Doc!

  • Nine people have never been in a lowrider listening to oldies

  • This tune was NOT in American Grafitti

It was in dirty Dancing though

  • WTF you think I am stupid no I didn't think they were

  • it is funny how some white people actually sing some of the best oldies and Otis now us Chicanos (mexicans) putting this loud in our low riders crusin on beautiful Sunday afternoons♥

  • @jessylovee123 Ese you that these cats are Black?

  • I feel like I might have lived during this time period and have been reincarnated to enjoy this music even more :)

  • This song is older than me! However, its a classic! I remember that in the 1970s, WCBS FM in New York City used to have music surveys and this song always come in at Number 1!

  • Oldies<3 I Was Born In The Wrong Time Period.!

    1994 Baby:l

  • @susanseg1 I feel your pain fellow 90s baby. :(

  • To listen to this, and think my grandpa was doing the same thing only i wish i was in the same car he had.....57 Chevy.

  • @morticianman24 My older brother had a 56 Chev Green/White trim. He would take me for rides, just crusing.

He was so Cool. Looked like James Dean. He and I, now look back, and we both realized IT was THEN. THAT was good times. He had the love of his life. I was looking for mine. Found her. TGTBT.

  • 6 people dont have anyone to hold in the still of the night...

  • awesome music the 50s and 60s

  • This is not an oldie... this is a classic!!!!!!!!

  • @kararozzxxx I don't see a difference between the two terms--aren't nearly all oldies classics?

  • I wish I was a teenager in the 50's!!! :)

  • @MsAliigirl same

  • same

  • @MsAliigirl Well you better be a straight white male or you're not getting very far.

  • @MsAliigirl Me too! I also love the 60s. It seemed like such a great time period! :)

  • @MsAliigirl me too :D

  • @MsAliigirl oh I know, same here!! :)

  • @MsAliigirl U got it! I was from 1958 (13) until 1964 (19)

  • Comment removed

  • @MsAliigirl. I dont think you would because of all sexism and racism during the era.

  • DOO WOP at it's best! :-)

  • All music today sucks.

  • godamnit I hate when people say ALL music of today sucks. sure, popular music today sucks, how about you actually listen to something besides the radio and do some searching for good music... I gaurantee you'll find great music from tody....
