@TheDESERTWARRIORS the U joint which broke (and keeps breaking) was a new spicer U joint. it broke because big tires and tons of traction and torque were too much for stock drive-line components. it would have had a better chance if he had a lower axle gear ratio (more torque reduction). this sort of thing just happens when you start modifying a vehicle (regardless of make) it's trial and error until you get all the bugs worked out.

@jdshaq yes those are good axles. my bronco in this video has the same dana 44 TTB front end and it holds up well (twin traction beam, i beam is 2wd) the 4.9 I6 is a great engine.. i'm sure with proper gearing it'd be fine with 35's or larger. it's the axles that determine tire size more than anything, (larger tire = more leverage on the axle) personally i don't recommend huge tires (over 35") for anything other than mud and mall crawling.

I don't but my friend does. Well I used 2 be friends w/ that dick but that's a different story. The 2009 H3 X Custom Basically Everyting! Lifted 2'8", I belive 38 or 42" offroad tires. Put in bullet proof dana 44 axles frond and rear! He beats the fuck out of that thing! He ran his '03 Dodge Viper over with it (accidently) he put it in drive in stead of reverse! lol! Wish I had a vid of that! Tough as fuck that thing is!

Dana 44's are only half ton. that blazer has one tons (Dana 60 front and 14bolt rear) on the same size tires.. how would the smaller truck with smaller axles do better? An H1 would be fun though. i've broken dana 44's many times, they're good axles tho.
