Honestly, you could have picked worse. For a franchise not even 20 years old they have had a lot of success. Oh, and also that expansion and relocation teams can actually have stylish logos and colors.
hindsight is 20/20; do you still think rob blake was overpaid? he's doing just as well as campbell is this year (check the offensive stats, and having watched nearly all of the games, I'd say he's better than campbell defensively). Boyle is 10x better than campbell. we'll see how the sharks do in the playoffs, but so far, blake and boyle are the reason why the team is off to a remarkable start.
Yes I still think Rob Blake is overpaid. He is benefiting from the fact that San Jose is incredibly good right now. Switch the two players around and I believe Campbell would be far and away better.
hmm I don't know man, Campbell makes some amazing plays (particularly spin-o-ramas). but last year, he used to fall down at the most inopportune moments and do some stupid stuff on the defensive end. Blake's not a razzle dazzle type of player, but he's efficient and gets the job done. He's smart, he's always in the right position and he has a great shot. I'm happy with what we're getting out of him for the money and contract length we've given him compared to what campbell is getting paid.
The case could be made that many NHL Defensemen are overpaid anyways, and that the demand over the past two seasons drove up the value for everyone on the blue line.
He actually turned his skate the right way... a shot that hits his skate there should deflect to the side-boards. It just happened to hit his skate on the point of his toe and took the exact bounce it needed. Unfortunate, but not Semenov's fault. Also, he wasn't "guarding air" as someone else said... he was correctly positioned in front of the net to clear away rebounds and also to protect the back-door pass.
No way, you can see that he's trying to get a pass through and it just happens to hit Semenov's skate at the right spot to shoot straight into the net.
Man at the time this was such a huge win, possibly the biggest one of the regular season for the Ducks.
Did he do that on purpose??!?!?!?

what miracle?

i think he was tryin to pass to the player at the side on the left side of the net. but if he did do it on purposee that's pretty cool

Ummmmm, overpaying for Rob Blake is an improvement?
Should have kept Campbell instead.

wtf was semenov thinking?? "oh i'm gonna turn my skate so i can block it", "oh oops i deflected it instead..uh duhh.."

Oh no! The crazy delusional virus that has infected the Maple Leaf fanbase has moved to Long Island!
I would not shed a tear if you guys started beating the Rangers and Devils with more regularity though.

Sweet song in the beginning. The real folk blues, baby.
Even if you'd have beaten Dallas, I don't think you could have stopped us, since we weren't as injured this year as last year.
Lord Stanley is HOME.

A Healthy Ducks vs. a Healthy Red Wings would have been, in my opinion, the BEST potential playoff series regardless of the outcome.
I would have liked our chances, because we did manage to go 2-1-1 against the Wings this year, including a rare win at Detroit.

Detroit was missing Kronwall, Schneider, and Homer.

lol.
Your 2008 and Defending stanley cup champions...
Still would have liked our chances, even if we went the same road as last year, since we had Kronner the Beater on our side and healthy
Hiei2k7 3 years ago
and who did we beat to clinch the 07-08 pacific division title????

Congratulations, you beat us three times in eight attempts. That's still a losing record isn't it?
