all these fans who say the chase is what won jimmie his championships are morons. The chase is way harder to win than the full season. In the chase if you have one bad race you could lose it. in the 36 race season you could have 5 dnfs and still win the title. How is that rewarding the best driver?

Well, the inverse of what you are saying is that if you have any bad luck in the final 10 races then that removes you from the title hunt. Racing, more than any other sport, involves luck. Over the course of the year everyone will have bad luck, some at different times of the year. In my opinon, as well as in Jimmie Johnson's opinion, the full year is harder to win than the Chase. Johnson did win the title this year under the old format though. Petty won under 3 different systems. JJ is good.
