I have spatial disgraphia, which is almost the same, but i have better spelling and grammar than most, but my actual writing is illegible. I am lazier than most, and sloppier. so i typicaly have a tought time to copy notes than most. but i still make it through :p
writing is one dimensional, thoughts are multi-dimensional(sorta), the problem for me is the filtering/organizing of multi-dimensional thought into one dimensional communication. Too much info too fast to be reprocessed. I think i have a buffer over run problem.
Like many posters, dysgraphia is one of my dyslexic traits as well. As a child, I was very talkative and loved to make up stories. Although my teachers always praised my language ability, my strong verbal and oral skills were not reflected in my written work leading them to conclude I was just lazy. Today, I'm pursing a humanities degree at uni. -- lots of writing. One piece of advice to other students: give yourself plenty of time to complete papers -- revise and revise again.
In my case it takes me 2 days to write 1000-3000 words essays. My disabiley is a rael pain at times, yet my IQ is in the top 10% worldwide and the top 4% in Australia and the USA. Go figure!!
Do you have a 504?The school must provide you with a scribe or other ways to articulate your thoughts, such as the use of a computer keyboard. Sound recording devices are easily accessible on computers. Good Luck. Advocate for yourself!!!!!
I never realised that it was a problem like untill now. Well maybe your just creative.. I had over 50 jobs in my life never lasted longer than a few WEEKS! My situation is terrible but I have aLSo tourettes adhd and AS.
I have disgraphia probabally. I studied a lot of lettering design in my commercial art AA program in college. Funny huh. But I love to make bold graphic lettered cat signs. Love it. I'll have to post some art some day. Hey I can't drive nearly as well as I can take dictation. Check your seat belt. Good Film. Exciting.
Dysgraphia is one of my many dyslexic traits. I am currently struggling through my college composition class. I wrote a two page paper last night which took me about 8 hours or so, my friend wrote hers only a few minutes before class. I am a "Stealth" dyslexic because I manage to do well enough. My professor had us just write a theisis today in class, I couldn't do it. I couldn't even write one sentance on paper, I can't think when I write by hand, my thoughts and words scramble.
@entertainMEANT Is there a way you can get extra time to complete in-class assignments? I know my school has a resource centre where students with learning disabilities can apply for accommodations -- extra time on assignments and access to a computer when writing exams for example -- which really help. Or maybe talk to your profs to see if they can arrange something.
I have Dysgraphia. I won countless spelling bees, and it takes me 1 hour to finish homework with a pen/pencil, and takes me 20 minutes with the computer... DYSGRAPHIA SUCKS!@#
I have motor disgraphia. It REALLY SUCKS not to be able to write as fast as you type. It'll take me 10 minutes to write something to write random letters on a full sheet of paper when it will take me only 3 minutes or less to do that on the computer. I just want to be able to write for God's sake! Can someone help me?!?! (sob) -_-

1 My father is a plumber and he kept sending me down to our garage but I usually could not find them. (they were right in my face)
2 I usually failed writing tests but I graduated from high school.
3 In 2006 I lost my job as English Teacher as students reported me to my boss as bad speller.
4 I got panic attacs while writing.
5 I am often unemployed or bankrupt.
