  • Nastolga-gasm

  • First zelda game I played. Came out the year I was born. (ahhh memorys)

  • @cookielolrofl Me too!

  • you can always tell how good a game is by its music

  • @marina85960 true true

  • I love zelda!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Best game ever! OCARINA OF TIME AND MAJORAS MASK, THE NOSTALGY KNOCK ME OUT!!!

  • No Shadow Temple Theme? AWWW

    No Spirit Temple Theme? *sob*

    No Ganon Theme *kills self*

  • "It's in 3d?!?!?!?!" -Me Christmas 1998

  • Uyhu

  • zeldas lullaby so sweet almost made me cry

  • temple of time gives me chilles down my spines!

  • Excellent.

  • The integration between sound, image and gameplay in this masterpiece is STILL unrivaled to this day. I've been playing videogames for more than 22 years and I can say that what was achieved with this game was something not even its creators can fully understand or imitate again. It's the feel of transcendence. Of art at its finest. Every single choice was correct; everything was made out of a touch of inspiration. This is the most unforgettable 3D game experience ever made.

  • got this game for my 3ds it is amazing

  • played this last night omg, fell in love again, god i miss being a kid

  • Song of Storms!

I still remember watching my big brother play dis alooooooong time ago, running around Kokiri Forest and killing that spider boss. It was rented, along with Majora's Mask (I remember watching him kill the first boss, whom I remember because of what he kept saying, "chi-aw-weh!"). We used to rent N64 games all the time, like Banjo-Kazooie (I thought it was the best game ever) and Bomberman 64: The Second Attack (he was at, like, a wind level when we had to return it I think).

  • this was the first Zelda game I ever played , I was around 14. I remember a friend let me borrow it and I could not figure out how to get out of the deku tree. I got angry and quit. later on I was ashamed for quitting so I bought a copy and played the shit out of it until I beat it. loved the series ever since

  • @hypervash85 how can anyone get stuck at the deku tree? wow lol

  • there will never be another console thats as good as the n64. the games were made with quallity, and thats the reason i still own mine with 10+ games. [most of the good ones]. i want to show my kids someday, the best generation of games and also the history involved. alot of games were made with passion in the 80-90's but this new gen. crap pisses me off.

  • @oGxLoKxBTA

If there are only around 10 good games for any given console, I wouldn't say it's the best, that's for sure. Just saying.

  • No lost woods?!

  • epic thx :) I LOVE THIS GAME:)

  • c-> ci <-c

  • This game is legendary...

  • Playing this game when I was 11 years old, in 1998 the year it came out, was an experience so impressive I will love this game for as long as I live. Thank you Nintendo.

  • Whats the name of the song around 5:08

  • It really pisses me off how nintendo is remaking all of these games just so what, They can hit the market again with little or no change? Just so nintendo can keep making billions & they dont even have to do much If not anything since its just a remake. Nintendo is super fucking lazy cant even make a real sequel. What they should be doing is making a real zelda sequel to majoras mask. None of that gamecube windwalker bs. OOT, MJ, and its priors are the only real zeldas. anything after MJ is crap

  • @oGxLoKxBTA i agree on the laziness, but i gota say i did really enjoy twilight princess, so dont forget about that game :P, true that wind waker was absolute shite tho :/ lets hope the new one will be more like the old ones, ocarina will always be the best game ever made imo (:

  • @oGxLoKxBTA or maybe its for people who wants to play this game but dont have a 64?

  • @verdin57 It's the File Select Screen song, like the very first song you hear after the title screen - how do you not know that if you've played the game even once? XD But also, it's the Great Fairy's Theme.

  • Aw, I didn't want it to end and then it did. First time I've managed to pay attention to anything for ten minutes in quite a while.

  • i grew up playing this game, N64 is by far the best game console ever created

  • THIS IS THE ULTIMATE 64 BIT GAME EVER. PERIOD

  • man i cant wait for the 3ds port its gonna be sweet

  • This is easily my number 1 game of all time and no matter what it always will be.

  • fair enuf you prefer the new ones.but deep down you knw im right :)

  • The only N64 game that I still own today. 'Nuff said.

  • Ocarina of Time. Metal Gear Solid. Grim Fandango. Panzer Dragoon Saga. Half-Life. Banjo-Kazooie. Crash Bandicoot Warped. Spyro the Dragon. StarCraft. Resident Evil 2. Final Fantasy Tactics. Tekken 3. Unreal. Parasite Eve. Turok 2. Star Wars: Rogue Squadron. Pokemon. Baldur's Gate. 1080 Snowboarding. F-Zero X. Xenogears.

Alright, is it just me or was 1998 the best year for gaming ever?

  • @SergeantLuke Lost Planet, Forza Motorsport 2, Crysis, BioShock, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Crackdown, Halo 3, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Mass Effect, Super Mario Galaxy, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Virtua Fighter 5, Assassin's Creed, The Orange Box, God of War 2, and some more. Although 1998 was a great year, 2007 was even better, IMO.

  • @Ruizanex half of those games are just knock offs of each other or knock off ov the classics in 98

  • @daveeol Does it make them bad games? For christ's sake... That's the same as saying the best year on the car industry was the year Ford made the first car, and all the other cars are shit and rip off the first one...

  • @Ruizanex nice analogy but the games from 98 are clearly better .give me all the games you mentioned for ocarina of time and metal gear.no contest

  • @daveeol That's relative. Ocarina of Time and Metal Gear Solid (for instance) are two of my favourite games ever. However, 2007 games are incredible too.

  • @SergeantLuke I don't know if I would say it was the best gaming year ever, but it was a pretty damn good year!

  • @SergeantLuke YES! I'm not the only person who sees this! Don't forge that Racing was forever changed with Gran Turismo.

  • @Gelatop Ah, I forgot that one! You know it's a good year when you manage to forget one of the most legendary games from that year.

  • @SergeantLuke What about GTA ?

  • @worldssmallestfan I'm pretty sure GTA1 came out in 1997. And either way, the series didn't get really good until III.

  • @SergeantLuke AH. Also I thought it was important as the first one, not necessarily that it was good.

  • 9:33 that's right quickscope those skulltullas

  • NOSTALGIA... OVERLOAD... AAHHHHH *explodes*

  • My only problem with this game would have to be the fact that it focuses more on collecting hidden items that are too hard to find and less on clearing dungeons, unlike "The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past". :|

  • probably the best soundtrack you can find in a videogame

  • Best game ever created=CASE CLOSED..

  • @imrannova Amen

  • @imrannova It's good, but Adventure of Link's better.

  • @chronocream i did like that game but it dosn't come close. i don't know if thats a joke or serius.

  • @imrannova Case Closed: The Mirapolis Investigation ?

  • @imrannova THATS WAT I ALWAYS SAY LOL SO DAMN RIGHT

  • @imrannova Not as of 11-20-11 Zelda: Skyward Sword (or as I refer to it, Zelda XVI) Is the Greatest Game of All Time

  • @cheddercheese99 I'm playing it now, I'm hoping its true.

  • I just can't express how much I love this game!

The BEST game of all time, doesn't do it justice, although it's a really tough one to call between this and A Link to the Past - these games bring back so many fond memories of my childhood, of innocence and excitement... every time I listen to the music I remember the excitement on my young face, the feverish joy of completing a dungeon after HOURS of play, the sense of achievement of defeating the boss.

I will remember every aspect forever...

  • You are a hero for taking us all back through our childhoods through all of your videos.

    =D

  • There are so many great songs from this game that not all of them are in the video. None of the warping songs are in. Still, I guess you have to make priorities.

  • I really enjoy those videos, and OoT had some of the best music in videogames ever.

  • The music at 5:48 sounds like something you'd hear in a holy place. So beautiful...

  • @1Thunderfire In LOZ: TP it's in a sacred temple.

  • my all time favorite game. been that way since i played it for the first time.

  • hahaha great! I've played this game like a thousend times.. Zelda games are the best EVERRRRR

  • DAMN...anyone else notices how good this player is!!!???....his literally moving backwards!

  • This is my personal favorite game of the N64 I played it actually this summer and im not done yet >_> I just got the hover boots but really this game has a great story and amazing graphics even for today I think they're great unlike mario 64 which graphics make me cringe a bit today, this one is great. I cant wait for 3DS

  • this and Majjora's Mask are the best Zelda games...no nevermind every Zelda game is the best Zelda game

  • zelda's theme, epona's theme and kakariko village always get to me...what beautiful pieces, =')

  • I just crapped...nevermind..OMG OMG OMG OH MY GAWD!!!

    hahaha

    N64 Vers=Ownage

    GCube Version=Ownage

    PC Emulated Vers=Ownage

    3DS coming out version= OMG

  • @ChaojimboProductionz you forgot VC version,

  • @TheMostBleedingHeart

Lol, I know. I just Beat the wii version 90 something percent 3 weeks ago. I need like 4 skullatullas, can't find them...I will not use any guides lol.

  • @ChaojimboProductionz i need that Heart Piece.

you know, that damn last heart piece everyone has a pain with,...

  • @TheMostBleedingHeart Not me! I got 50 Skullatullas Before I did the Fire temple. Lol. I only have an hour a day to play OoT on my Friend's wii before my parents pick me up from his house, and it only took 2 weeks, keep in mind that is 14 hours of play time lol. I just happened to get the last one by falling off of gerudo valley on my way to get the ice arrows and I saw the ladder in the waterfall =D.

  • @ChaojimboProductionz how old are you?

an i cant wait for 3DS remake...

  • @TheMostBleedingHeart 14.

The 3DS is probaby too much for me =\

  • @ChaojimboProductionz

oh,thought you might be around that age.

    im 23.

    come on,really? poor you.

oh well,u cant buy every console ever.

  • @TheMostBleedingHeart Lol.

Besides the fact the 3DS is going to be more than a PS3, both of my parents are broke because they are divorced =\. Money is hard to get for them now.

  • @ChaojimboProductionz :/

    oh well.

    do what you can.

  • funny how its been so many years and we still play this game you guys want 2 know why well kause ITS THE SHIT!! number 1 game ever

  • @lostzip12 I agree with you, it is the shit! This is the one game I can play a trillion times and never get bored with it. I've played it so much I know it like the back of my hand. So many memories, a great game. I feel bad for kids that were born after the N64 era. They missed out on a great system with great games and music. They just don't make them like this anymore. *sigh*

  • This and A Link To The Past are the best Zelda games.

  • Song of Time....so amazing. Beautiful and enigmatic all at once.

  • Greatest Zelda game of all time?

Well, I think A Link to the Past (SNES) is better, but not by much.

Still, its been so long (1998 and 1999) since I finished Ocarina, yet I've beaten A Link to Past many times. Perhaps I need to play through Ocarina again, to know for sure which is better!

  • Not only is this the soundtrack to one of the greatest games ever, its also the soundtrack of my childhood. The word nostalgia would be meaningless for me had this game not been made.

  • Song of Storms FTW!!!!

  • I think it's games like Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time that really made great use of N64s SGI power. It's really too bad Square ultimately decided they couldn't "afford" the media Nintendo was offering at the time. Sure the music may sound a bit different, but hey, I'll betcha they wouldn't be using FMVs that much. OoT looked "dramatic" enough to being the closest thing to a fully-playable FMV, imo, for its time.

  • ok, I love this game as much as the next, but is it still the greatest game ever? Twilight Princess surpassed it years ago. I will always hold it in a high regard because it was the best Zelda had to offer at the time, but the Wii installment is a better game. I may be bordering on blasphemy, but I had a ton of fun playing through TP. It's true, we may not have had TP if not for Ocarina, but it's like Jordan circa 1991 compared to Jordan circa 1996.

  • BEST...GAME...EVER...

    Bar none.

  • Ah yes the greatest game ever made,I remember waiting so long for this when it was announced,i wouldnt look at screen shots or read previews or anything that might spoil it,was so worth it.

  • Holy Moly. I love this game. Good memories

  • this should be number 1 in music. everytime i hear any song from this game i just want to play it.

  • @justin1064 I know

I have the gold cart of it, Both gamecube versions. Virtual console, and a good rom. My life goal is to beat this game once a year, been doing it for about 7 years now :D

  • @themadmoose245 That is pretty fukin badass u got my support

  • @1337grenade As soon as I can get it

I'm getting the 3DS version and beating that :P

  • Best game on the planet. Period.

  • I'd have to say that 4:28 - 5:03 is hands down my favorite piece of music of all time.

  • MW2 is a joke compared to this. Back when videogames were in their heyday, from 91'-2000 FPS weren't a glimmer in gamers' eyes because other genres were clearly superior. This generation is about graphics and they need to be able to sell it, so they market FPS which can better handle these graphics. Zelda is perhaps the greatest, funnest game ever made.. MW2 is like every other FPS ever made. FPS fans are really fans of camraderie with others (online). Its that you're very LONELY, its not fun.

  • true. i grew up at the beginning of the '90s, so I'd prefer gameplay over graphics.

  • @imrannova The only game that 1/2 competes with this imo is Final fantasy 10.

    Gameplay >>>>> Graphics anyday

  • @imrannova I love FPS!!

And prefer this game over all crappy generic ones.

    And the best ones too.

    This game kicks ass.

  • Back in the 1998 this game had many WTF moments like the time travel and how every place changed. Damn I did really hated ganendorf for that. However after so long when I played twilightprincess(still a good game) my brother and me always whistle all the ocarina songs. we still have them in mind.

  • why does who ever is playing keep walking backwards?

  • its a speed run. jumping backwards is faster since its just button mashing. very similar to the "broken shield" technique (holding R without targeting and just mashing B like crazy).

  • you move faster.. common!

  • I own the actual soundtrack to this game. Well worth the money.

  • @Ragitsu good

  • final fantasy 7 does not even compete with zelda man... Zenda easily one of the best games ever made on any console.

  • dude this was the best zelda game ever

  • there was no 'best' zelda, can't we just say

    zelda is amazing.

  • OoT was the most ground breaking, in my opinion.

  • Nothing can explain the joy of playing this masterpiece at the age of 12, it just stays with you, the second best game ever made to Final Fantasy 7

  • best game ever,... better than cod mw2

  • lol COD MW2???

how can you compare FPS to adventure?

  • @havefunandshare I meant it's more fun, not better :P

  • well how old are you, 14? 16? clearly if your younger than 18 you just wont understand.

  • el de la mascara es el mejor

  • Great music and a great game..not my personal favourite Zelda tho

  • Fucking Saria's Song is an epic win in general... I love Ocarina, but omg, Saria's Song is so epically beautiful and so much more amazing in Twilight Princess.

  • whats the name of the song that starts at 4:27??

  • @maphia360 "lost woods" or "saria's song" :)

  • cool

  • 2:30 the kid is raping the rock

  • rofl i kno right?

  • omg!!!! Nostalgic!! :D

  • i love ocarina of time! but i love aLttp more! :)

  • 8:21 FTW!!!

  • god, this song kills me.

i want to be 9 again ahhhhhhh dagger to the heart =(

  • My absolute favorite game of all time.I've played it ove 50 times literally.

  • @poisonlover77 Me too :). It´s sad to think that we won´t see games like this any more...they are part of videogame history. I just listen the music of this game and thousands of memories get to my mind. That only happens to me with this game and with "Link´s Awakening" (of Game Boy)...Zelda rules!! :)

  • This game was much better than I thought it would be. The music was very good, very catchy.

  • aww man where r the boss tracks? i love the fire temple bosses, those were heart pounding! thank god they brought the tune back against stallord's second form, what an epic battle

  • True. The greatest.

Some will say it lacked originality, but that is because this game was THE best execution of the Zelda series idea, that gets replayed over and over and over in each game. Fairy boy comes from the forest and defeats the horrible dark lord and saves the world.

  • @deltonesan I wonder about those people who say it lacked originality...were they referring to the story? Because damn if this wasn't the blueprint for almost every action/adventure game since....plus, why mess with a formula (gameplay) that just WORKS

  • @deltonesan ....TP was that

  • @deltonesan well actually it started in ocarina of time..then went on to zelda and zelda 2 and majoras mask somewhere. then wind waker (new hero lasted 1 game only) then twilight princess.

  • @deltonesan who the fuck says that this game lacks its originality!?!

  • @deltonesan Lacked originality? Who said that? It practically invented lock on targeting and automatic jumping, had a completely new storyline to the series (well kinda...) and created so many staples in it that have come back over and over and over and over in newer zelda games.

I mean if you wanna get real you can break down any game series like that. Final Fantasy: bunch of rebels lead a resistance against evil while dressing fabulously.

  • @zzyzx0788 "while dressing fabulously." Lolololol.

  • the best zelda game to ever exist!

  • lol. whatever u say dude.

  • watever that means

  • i agree not an rpg

but still a really good game

i found 99 skulltulas or whatever i couldnt find the last one, lol

  • the closest i ever got to was 91, apparently the other nine were all in Death Mountain... How the hell are you supposed to fine 9 skulltulas in one spot? lol, either way most epic game i ever played

  • BEST Zelda game, amazing music. I love it so much, it will always be a favorite of mine.

  • I've done everything you can in this game. I have beat it countless times and even a few times with only 3 hearts. I will never get bored of this game it is the greatest of all time. I can imagine me playing this game until I die.

  • THE BEST ZELDA GAME, EVER! BAR NONE!

  • Probably my favourite game of all time. It just did everything right. This compilation brings back sooo many good memories, good job!

  • Man I enjoyed this game. I want to be buried with my gold cartridge i loved it so much

  • @tjewett1 Same here :'D

  • best game in the world

  • best game ever.... when i was just 4 they released this game and i got hooked. i then beat the game 4 years later as my skills to video games increased as i aged.

  • I have these songs on my iPod....yeah there that good dammit....but seriously this is just an awesome game and now practically almost 11 years later of playing it, still one of the best games ever

  • Hell yeah same. IMO, this game is THE best game ever created, and I have just about all of the main consoles ever made.

  • Funny how you really do have to play alot of games to point out what games really do rock and ones that well don't

  • THis was the first RPG I ever tried! I thought it was incredible!

  • thats more than a game....

    thats a Legend of History

  • The day I put this cartridge into my N64 forever changed my perspective of Zelda music. I've always loved the music from the series, but to hear it for the first time on this 64 bit system blew me away! Fantastic memories of this game and the accompanying music.

  • on my list of top 3 games ive ever played in my life, along with ff7 and metal gear solid!...i pretty much love every game in all 3 series though!

  • Yes metal gear solid is awesome..i have yet to play FF7..im not an RPG guy so i will have some time adjusting to it but i play zelda ocarina of time im not far into it and so far i wouldnt say its in my top 5 buts i reckon its a damn good game...ovcourse though judging by other people opinions i will love this game when i complete it...and liking an RPG that is huge for me...my friends dragged me into it and they were shocked that i liked it...i love this music and playing the ocarina is awesome

  • You just need to, in a lifetime, compose Super Mario 3's songs and Ocarina's to become the BEST videogame soundtrack composer there is. Nothing else. Kondo is BRILLIANT. Such simple yet incredibly deep, touching and addictive tracks... timeless tunes. Can touch the heart very easily. A genius.
