I've just learned to ride and I'm trying to learn to freemount now. I've got 2 questions for you if you don't mind, and I can't find answers anywhere else . . . .
#1. Do they make any unicycles that coast?
#2. I'm just gonna be blunt about this: the seat KILLS my shnuts. On half my rides I have to stop early 'cause my balls are screaming in pain. How do I "adjust" myself to avoid this? I've tried riding in tighty-whiteys and everything.
@RicksonByArmbar Congrats on learning! No, they don't make unis that "coast" for the simple reason that it would be nearly impossible to maintain balance! You should have a decent saddle, like a Kris Holm Fusion free ride, Then, it does take time to "break your butt in". Always ride "BIF" (Balls in front!) lol. Also, I suggest wearing baggy style bike shorts with the padded crotch. You'll be fine once you get used to it.
@ttt8699 thanks, Geez. I'm riding my dad's rusty old Schwinn right now. He's your age and he got it when he was a teenager. It's probably not the greatest in the world to learn on but my wife isn't going to let me invest much unless I prove I'm gonna stick with it, haha. I appreciate the response.
@RicksonByArmbar All unicycles can coast, its not impossible. However a bigger wheel (intuitively) gets you farther for your work. I ride a 20" torker, but I like to jump off things be retarded on it. big wheels definitely have their advantages if you are lookin to move quickly tho.
@arengon1 Don't be sorry. When I made it, it had audio, but youtube muted it, so i had to use the lame audioswap, but lost the voice audio which explained each mount. Visually, it still shows you how to mount.
@hockey4ransom A suicide mount is when you stand the unicycle up and balance it and then without touching it with your hands jump up an ot and ride away without falling off of course ^_^ It's really fun to do.
Is there a Coker out there for less than $400? I'm saving for one this summer and I'm looking at one but it's $500 with the brakes, which I do need if I'm commuting often. Any ideas as to where I coProxy-Connection: keep-a
so coker's are for gettin from A-B right? so are they hard to ride, and they have brakes too? and can you move without peddling? and what price are they and where can i buy 1?
Mch more than that! They are just plain FUN to ride, and no, you can't move without pedaling, just like any unicycle. They are used for commuting, touring, racing, offroad and in my case, I've even used them for trials and tricks!
Nice job, I've been riding for 9 weeks, and i still can't freemount my 26 inch. You make it look easy, and you're on a bigger unicycle! P.S., I could freemouynt on my older 20 inch =]
Thanks! It's a UDC Radial deluxe with airfoil rim. I've also added a really cool V-brake, KH fusion freeride saddle, custom powder coating, and for street distance riding, a T7, and air horn! Also QU-AX 114mm alum cranks which I really love.
yes they are...just go there, click on "online catalog", then click on "unicycles", and then click on "commuter".....or you can click on "touring" for 29" max diameter.
i've pretty much had that website memorized for almost 10 years. LOL

Since I'm really short (4' 11") It helps me to grab the tire and pull it under me.
