My Theory on Scar, Zira, and thier children(Feat. an update)

You would have to jerk it around a bit to fit Kopa in but the rest seems more logical. This is the most logical explanation that I have ever seen actually.

To me, it just seems too illogical. If they truly wanted to nix the possibility of Kovu being Scar's son, they would have introduced a candidate to be his real father with the same markings. But they didn't, so I assume that the story was made-up to prevent controversy, but not really intended to be what it was, if that makes any sense. It helps the situation to remember that they are lions, after all, and inbreeding is just a way of life. It might eventually destroy the pride, but it's natural.

Actually, my theory is probably way more messed up than yours. I believe that Kovu is the biological son of Scar and was intended to be so for some time until the writers realized that his romance with Kiara would be incest and, therefore, too controversial for a kid's movie. It just doesn't make sense that the only other male lion walking around that resembles Scar is most likely his biological son (Nuka) and that Kovu isn't. There is no male lion present that could have fathered Kovu.

Jem, I like the way you think! But PERSONALLY, I still remain in wonder to how Zira's cubs were brought up, because I believe the cub in the end of the first movie is Kopa. =P

actualy its Simba's son Kopa. Kopa was discarded when they made the sequal for some reason, but you can read his stories in a book called Lion KIng 6 new adventures.

Actually, if you read any of the original Disney scripts, a male cub named Kopa is conceived during the "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" scene, and is in fact miscarried in the end battle. Kiara was later conceived.

Kovu is NOT Taka's (scar's) son. Even Kovu says that. It is pointed out in several spots in the movie.

I agreed with you exepted that I think Zira is as old as Scar and that Kovu is Scar's son with another lioness. (and that doesn't make him cousin with Kiara, because his father is the uncle of Kiara's father)

Kovu is scars son, thats why he looks JUST like him. Kovu only disowns him. and kiara and Kovu are cousins because Scar and Mufasa are brothers...

If one considers Kovu the biological son of Scar, which is Simba's uncle and brother to Kiara's grandfather Mufasa, wouldn't that make Kovu Kiara's uncle not cousin?

Something no one thinks about is that Nala herself could have been related to Simba. The reason being is that Mufasa and Scar appeared to be the only male lions there.

What i always found interesting was that in the movie Nuka says that Kovu wasn't scars' son, and Kovu said that too; but he resembled scar in many ways. I think your story would work pretty well because technically Kiara and Kovu wouldn't be cousins because Kiara wasn't blood related to Zira.

My opinion:

Zira, her son, and her supporters were exiled from another pride when Zira was pregnant with the king's child. They stumble across Pride Rock and she falls in love with the king, Scar. With Nuka's "abnormal" intelligence, Scar chose and hoped for a new male heir (Henry VIII vibe) On the night of the fight, Zira goes into labour and surprisingly, gives birth to twins, Vitani and Kovu. Kovu was The Chosen One and with that, Simba exiled her and the evil pride to the Outlands.

I'm sorry that would be a bit weird becuase then Kovu and Kiara are cousins and they fall in love. And that can't happen becuase then Disney is basically saying "Go fall in love with your cousin".

Hmm...Zira could still be pregnant when she, Vitani, and Zuka left. But his mane growing could be premature, I think Disney should take these rumors into consideration, but another filler arc isn't needed(i.e. another movie) they could try other things, but they shouldn't leave us in the dark about it.

I agree wholeheatedly on everything, but I think Zira and Scar had a bit of a fight not long after Vitani was born over why Scar refused to even consider Nuka an heir. He was completely focused on himself, with the Pridelands falling into despair, but he refused to do anything about it. Zira confronted him about it, and it led to a Scar-hitting-Sarabi kind of thing. So, she got with a secret, close lion friend who was passing by to let out some stress. And there was Kovu. Just my idea, though.

I think the animators made a sort-of-like Sarabi character in the scene where Kiara is going off to her first hunt, walking down the rocks in between the row of lionesses. I read somewhere that the character that was supposed to seem as Sarabi was a small background voice saying "My, look how you've grown," and there is a lion with her exact colors/markings and such, but is never told exactly to be Sarabi.

Actually, the lioness who said "My look how you've grown" was voice bt the same person who voiced Sarafina in the first movie. IF you don't know who she is, she's Nala's mama

interesting theory, just one thing, in II, at some point, nuka makes the comment;"scar wasn't even his father, he just took kovu in," or something to that effect. basically, that means kovu was probably an orphaned cub that scar took in & chose to be his heir. other than that, this was pretty cool.
