I cracked and bought the 10.1 the other day, but the accessories available for it aren't that great.
I had a $50 Best Buy gift card and didnt even use it. My main issue is really the lack of ports on everything including the tablet itself. The dock for example is just a piece of plastic with a charging port. Why not HDMI or mini-HDMI out?
Its the best tablet I have used, but something like the Thrive or Iconia did the expansion and ports right. Leaving out SD and HDMI shouldn't happen.
One cool thing is that I can set the on-scr kbd to another language (i.e. Russian), while physical kbd remains in English. I think it's a bug, but one that I like!
I love my kbd dock, and the fact that you can type at normal full speed. But there are bugs (in addn to the on-scr kbd gets in the way, which is annoying). My kbd frequently has stuck / missed letters. Worse, it usu. requires multiple reboots to work, often going into giant on-scr clock mode, in which NONE of keys work!
if you get those bluetooth keyboard, it seems too much like a desktop without the tower. with this dock, it seem like a laptop that cant be folded down. lol
but i can do without the dock !!!! dock is white, stainded easily show if applied
1:56: ****Why does a physical keyboard have a key for making an onscreen keyboard appear ?*** shouldn't it just always use the physical keyboard instead. Couldn't it use any physical keypess as the "dismiss screen keyboard" function for unaware software
@Kennylol no there isnt any microsoft word, or ms office, but u get a lil bit different 3rd party app which serves all the functions of microsoft office
eh, not nearly to Asus Transformer keybord... And Samsung 10.1 with keybord dock is Not nearly to netbook...its only dock. Its deferent with Asus Transformer dock cos it can "close" as netbook, it have 2nd batery, it have ports as usb, hdmi, microSDHc & SDHc and more.
@samrogalsky Yes - I use my Logitech Edge and it's great! I use it when my tab is on its desktop charger and I have programmed several F keys to open mail etc.,
@foyleflyer I forgot to mention that the touch mouse on the Logitech works really well and is very handy. The other keyboards I have looked at don't appear to have this function.
@SLee1337 What i meant was that this keyboard defeats the purpose of having a tablet. I have a laptop and a pc why would i want to have a keyboard on a tablet for? Yes, tablets are toys to play around and have fun with, that's one more reason to not get a keyboard. Think about it, you have a laptop and you get a tablet with a keyboard, isn't that the same as just staying with your laptop instead??? Unless you going to use office on the tablet with i dough, the keyboard is useless.
@fawatthana yes... you can attach the USB adapter to the right side of the keyboard doc while its attached to the TAB. but you cannot then charge the unit. If i could charge the TAB while docked and also attach USB for movies.. it would be a sale for me.
@flashlightfreak9 agreed... and the fact that it pretty much becomes a laptop with USBs is amazing.. and the dock recharges the tab.. Asus = Greatness
@15Aalexis1995 Well considering apple have submitted false evidence to the courts proves that apple tried to halt the sale of the galaxy tab, as they know how much competition it will be
