"I spar with mars and discard those who sell out for fame
I rearrange the stars so they spell out my name"
Fucking amazing shit, the way Jehst rides the beat there is fucking awe inspiring... On paper it doesn't look like it would flow that well, but he worked it perfect. Two living legends here... I love UK hip hop from this time period, it's the closest thing to the 90's boom bap era in my opinion, and in many ways it's even better. The music just has this aura that it's developed over time.
"i spar with mars and discard those who sell out for fame i rearange the stars so they spell out my name"....... "and when the sun gets cold and the globe overheats ill retreat to the moon and watch everlution repeat" jehst is siiiiiik ... tell you who to look out for ... jack flash dude is sik
I remember supporting Tommy back in 98/99 and I dropped a verse on this track wiv 'im. I ain't seen him for time since I left Leeds. Tommy if you're readin this, it's Shadow Star. Peace!
illest track ever, Harry Love (Scratch Perverts?) beat? background sounds from scene from star wars a new hope in tha landspeeder. Jehst staight up destroyed this one. Stellar! UK big up on this one. Peace! Specter tha Head Collector.
dont suppose you know if premonitions was ever released on cd? i know some of the ealier stuff he did with evil ed was on mix tapes, champions of nature and what not. pisses me off that i've never been able to find premonitions though. silver lining, liquidiction... DOPE!
It was probably vinyl only release because he wasn't big, or even known at all. Had to get his name on the circuit somehow. Vinyl's the best way to get your shit played at the right venues. I think I'll start harassing his YNR site to get him re-releasing it!
yeah man, its just vinyl is dieing out becuase of the cost compared to cd's. Artists are struggling to get enough money together to release cd's let alone vinyl. Ahhhhhhh i wish we had infastructure in UKHH.
If you're not a dj, it doesn't really make sense to buy vinyl. Well that's my excuse anyway. MP3's seem to be more dangerous... give it a few years and cd's won't even exist!
This has been slowed down, why?
