Ivar used to be a nemesis when I first got the quest. I def couldnt solo it as a guardian.

I tried it multiple times with no luck between lvls 30-45. I tried it at lvl 50 and he was all of a sudden, an elite master. I had no idea the game changed anything. He was so easy... the elite mobs and the rare elite master that you have to fight before Ivar were harder. I barely got any xp from him.

Not weird you soloed him, you are lvl 50 and he is 33 or 32 or something. I play LOTRO and Ivar is not hard in high lvl.

@HMovies1 look at the date this was posted, its old, Ivar has been significantly nerfed since then. It used to be a 6 man, now its a 3 man. Yes he is easy now.

@PsychoT1m I wouldn't say he was easy. The instance tops out as a level 34. A level 40 champ and captain teamed with a level 53 ministrel could still barely bring him down. Granted, equipment wasn't the best though.

In which lvl u are able to defeat him? cause im lvl 35 and connot even kill those normal signature brigants who wonder around Garth Agarwen.. and I cant find this place where Ivar lies, i go exactly on the ring marker of the map but theres nothing there. wierd.. the place has nothing to do with this place on the video, but the marker tells me to go there =/

@McLovin123ify You have to remember that this video is over 2 years old now, the instance has since been revamped. The whole intro on how to get there without a key is irrelevant now as the instance is now divided up in sections. The section with Ivar starts where I open the gate. Ivar was also scaled down from being a 6 man boss to a 4 man boss, so he is also easier now. But then again the whole combat system was changed, so who knows if its easier or harder? But at lvl 65 it should be easy.

So, Do you guys think that a champion is better than a hunter or vis versa? Since both are dual wield bow using classes except hunters use more stealth than strength and champions use heavy armor.

@wiirocks117 Obviously Im gonna say champion :p. And heres why: The champion is versatile. He can Single Target DPS, AoE DPS and Tank. Due to his high power regen from his stances he can sustain his DPS constantly through out the fight. Hunters have ST burst DPS (over time I believe the champions sustained DPS will out perform them) and limited CC. Champions FTW!

@Daestos First off dude helegrod armour blows for a champ. also what are you using a wiffle bat? go otu and get LI with critmultiplier, were for pieces of moria and 2 MW head and shoulders, best combo out there for a champ right now. Helegrod armour is about minus 77 agility, bye bye crit rating.

@PsychoT1m Dude cool video, but I would like to point out a few things. When Controlled burn didnt expire prior to the mirk wood update, now it does in two minutes. It also allows you to keep evade and parry, which at that levels you should be alot harder to hit, especially with sudden defense that sounds you evade and parry through the roof. The minus bonus for healing isnt there either. This allows you to use heal better with potions and brace attack. Champs hae ahd some nerfing since then.

@PirateMcDavey i should point out that with a trait that you can use CB for an extra minute, also, bracing attack heals more when you are in fercour stance (this was confirmed by a dev) also, sudden defence would take down all the bonuses from CB so if you were forced in to a spot where you need to use it, your most likely going to die

@nic4rest23 Its hard to say really. Cause all it comes down to is playstyle. What do you want to do? Melee DPS = Champion, Ranged DPS = Hunter/RK, Crowd Control = LM/Burglar, Debuffing = Burglar/LM, Buffing = Captain, Healing = Minstrel/RK, Tanking = Guardian/Warden. I personally prefer Burglar the most.

What stance were you in when you killed Ivar ? And how did you solo him at level 50 when he was a lot harder? I'm level 60 now and I can barely get him solo.

@gaara908776 I was in Controlled Burn. Back then CB was a toggle stance instead of a buff. When you turned on CB it was on until you fell out of combat. Did it with consumable buffs, self heal every time their of CD, and just DPS like a mad man. Take out banners as they heal him, kill adds with AoE ASAP to get less incoming damage while also burning down Ivar.

Umm I am level 31 now and I have 2 other level 31's to help me. So I started the quest were you kill him and we all went there to were the quest ring is but there is no jumping around buildings or gates just a Ring on the map and we cant seem to find him.

@gaara908776 This video is over a year old, its from before the game had any expansions when max level was 50. Since then the instance has been rewamped, and that boss you see there is alot harder then what is now. The new one is build for 3 people while this one was build for 6. The whole instance was divided into smaller instances. All the bosses were in one big 6 man instance before instead of the cluster we have today.

Ivar and his minions (including The Red Maid) are all part of the "Garth Agarwen"-cluster of instances that you can do at any time (when you are at the right level, and have good companions to do it with) and which is outside of the epic book chapters,

It's the same way that you can do Great Barrows as an instance and kill Sambrog for example. Hope this clears things up :)

In the latest expansion they revamped the whole instance to be more casual, think he is downgraded to a 3 man instead of the previous 6 man you see in this video. As Gardena said this is not part of the epic quests. It can be hard to get a fellowship for it so if your're on Laurelin just give me a shout and Ill join on a alt, Im most probably on Sapphirre, a burg.

Champion is the the 3rd best.

Dont personaly have one. But you can take on alot more mobs at the same time then other classes, but then again leveling is slower because you do less damage. At lvl 20 you get a DPS stance called Over Power or something. Im assuming this makes leveling faster and soloplay more enjoyable. I would however suggest leveling with a firend or something if you can, so much more fun and the leveling prosess dont seem that slow(Atleast not if he is a DPS class ;)).

No. It means tank lots of trash mobs in groups.

As for soloers...

Lore-master and Warden are really strong.

Burglar are pretty strong but not as strong as the two others, but bruglars also have stealth.

Hunter is the fastest soloer. He has high DPS and can travle around the world alot faster then any other class.
