I really like this movie. I would like to own it, preferrably a DVD with the option of Swedish with English subtitles. The English dubs are kindof goofy.
@CanadiaNecro1 I purchased it at Wal-Mart around the same time that Let Me In, the American remake, was in theaters. It has both options, plus it has a nice little behind-the-scenes documentary.
@skittlehappymatt I'm with you there. The thing is, I'm not a big vampire fan, and Twilight even made me less of a vampire fan. But a friend kept hounding me to see this so I finally did and fell in love with it.
@MovieMattness Same. I really like horror movies with excessive amounts of realism. Let The Right One In is pretty realistic, but movies like the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre that feel "too real" are ones I like to see :)
@ZerrickiShadow Cool. Whether or not people agree with me, I hope that they at least check out different movies after taking in my reviews. I am so far behind on these videos. I am working on reviews of Mad Max, Hobo With A Shotgun, Trust, and Salo or the 120 Days of Sodom, but my day job(s) demand so much time (hey, at least I have jobs, something a lot of people cannot say in this rough economy), so I'm not complaining.
@MovieMattness Haha, dude it is totally cool. Not all of us can be like those top YouTube people who make a living off of this site. Even if I could do that, I wouldn't, I want a job where I actually work. Hobo With A Shotgun....wait a minute isn't that one of those fake trailers from the movie Grindhouse? I had NO idea they made it into a movie, I know they made Machete into a movie, but I did not know they made Hobo with a Shotgun into one.
@ZerrickiShadow It starts Rutger Hauer, and it's available for streaming on Netflix. I love exploitation, and I have no problem with graphic violence (I'm a huge zombie movie junky, if that's any indication), but something about Hobo With a Shotgun set with me wrong. I got what it was trying to do, but I just didn't have as good a time watching it as some did (like the /Filmcast guys, who I think are great).
@eliotka203 I wasn't trying to compare it to "That Other Film." In fact, I say that when others call this "Tw****** For Grownups" that is an unfair comparison. But I use Tw****** as a point of reference, since that steaming pile is swarmed upon by millions while this superior vampire film is known to but a few.
Great review and I did read your review of Let Me In and I have one question. Why were you so nice? Ha ha. Seriously though, why pick on the pool scene? It was just a drop in the bucket of blasphemy the whole remake was.
@dexterjankaren Oh, I agree. What happened was, I started Let Me In and was struck by how it had to push ideas in my face--three blatant references to Anny walking barefoot in the snow vs. one subtle reference to it in LTROI. I thought--what the hell? Do American movies really have to spell it out for us? So I fast-forwarded to the pool scene, just to see how it was handled. Totally pissed. I think I need a followup review to focus an the abortion that this film truly is.
@dexterjankareniI LOVE YOUR COMMENT!!! It's quite refreshing for me to know that someone else agrees that :Let me In" is a piece of cinematic garbage! The whole thing is indeed complete blasphemy. "Let The Right One in is an incomparable masterpiece that will NEVER be topped.
Man , I love your view on this, I feel exactly the same way!! This goes traight to my favorites, and I'll post it on the LTROU forum(fanpage) you it gets more views :D Thankyou for reviewing this! OMG! :D

@reedcostume I appreciate it. Did you see my response to Let Me In, that abortion of a remake?
