It must be remembered here that a Mut`ah relationship makes a woman neither a wife nor a slave girl of a person, whereas the Quran specifically restricts sexual relationships of a person with these two. It should be noticed that the particular word used by the Quran in the referred verse translated as "wives" is "azwaj" plural of "zaujah".

@12followershia The Quran does not support this view. According to the Surah Al-Mominun and Surah Al-Ma`arij the Quran specifically disallows all sexual relationships, besides that which are based on Nikah or that which were between a master and his slave girl1. The Quran says:

In a nut shell, Shia muslims follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) through his descendants, ie. his daughter Fatima (as), his son-in-law Imam Ali(as) and there children Imam Hassan (as) and Imam Hussein (as) (these group of people are known as the household of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh))and there descendants, also known as Imams.
....Sunni muslims follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) through well respected scholars who are not related to the Prophet, and some of whom had not met the Prophet.
Also, Shia muslims do not hold in high regard the first three Caliphates (leaders) as legitamate leaders as we believe they stole the succesorship to the Prophet(pbuh) away from the rightfull leader, Imam Ali(as).
Wherver you are Sunni or Shia, you are Muslim, and we all believe in One God and his Messenger.
however i do not understand why people have to dispute over people that came after the prophet, whether its his companions, scholars, family.. i believe that the story ended at the death of the prophet, it was the end of the message from Allah. we should not follow anyone blindly, if any scholar says that something is an obligation, all we need to ask for is an authentic saying of the Prophet that sais so, or the Quran.
the thing is that nobody can understand the Quran and the message of the Prophet (s.a.w.) without the Imams. The only people who completely and truly comprehend Islam and the teachings of the Quran are the Prophet s.a.w., his daughter Fatima Zehra (a.s.), and the 12 Imams, the first of whom is Imam Ali (a.s.) and the last of whom is Imam Mohammad Mahdi (a.s.), who is currently in occultation. Without the love of these people, one cannot possible comprehend the beauty of Islam.
if the need to follow anyone else was necessary to comprehend the beauty of Islam, it would have been emphasized in the Quran.
on the other hand the Quran clearly emphasizes that only Allah Glorified can be supplicated to. if i see any person form any sect or school of thought is doing these things then to me is not credible or reliable any more
i dont believe that Allah would send down a religion that no one would understand accept a specific group of people other than the prophet he sent to explain it. it illogical to say that, i believe that any person can study the authentic hadith and understand the quran. if not the ambiguous parts, at least the main message is clear, and that's what we should unite on.

well in islam before the messenger of God passed away he asked the people of 2 things as his pay for the prophethood.one was the quran and the other was the ahlulbait.these 2 cant be seperated.And also the fact that the messenger of God asked the prophet to announce Ali after him and he did.but the first 3 calpihs plotted againts this and took this away from Ali, which also lead to the death of Fatima the daughter of the prophet and the wife of Ali.(she is regarded as the woman of all time)
now im sure his decedents were prob very wise men, but it seams illogical that every muslim would have to know some men that live in a country to be able to follow the straight path. and since islam was always international not every one was able to accompany them.
the thing is i dont really care who was caliph after the prophet, i care about Muhammad, now if he did say that one needs to hold on the Alilbait to be a good muslim, i would ask for proof, i have been sent part of sahih hadith which sais that, but when i looked for the full hadith, the narrator specifies in the beginning that he is doesent remember well, but durring this i found other sahih hadiths which say to hold on to his way instead, which to me makes more sense.
the thing is that, bukhari is a man who was born 200 years after the death of the messenger of god.now you seem to get some of what i say in his book still.i ask you why not go and read the book that Ali wrote by his own hands, the hadiths, by first person.intead of reading bukhari who narrated like, i heard of x who heard of y who heard of z who heard of.

Ayesha after the Prophets death came out of her house with a naked sword in her hand aroused an army and did the first CIVIL WAR. it was the first civil war between sunnis of Ayesha and Shias of Ali (S). Ayesha herself admits that she should never have fought this unjustified battle against Ali (S).. the word is unjustified. The prophet foretold of this prophecy as this would be an unjustified war to Zubayr and Talha and warned Ayesha of the dogs.

SUNNI BACKBONE of hadith is coming from Ayesha who narrated more then 2000 bukhari and Muslim hadith. That is the sunni sect backbone. Since Ayesha is clearly in error .... this makes the narrations of the hadith in regards to the Prophet (S) unreliable and not dependable.. not all authentic.

Sunni version is from Abubakr, Umar, Ayesha and the later Caliphs. who barely understood what is Quran in the first place and their version is full of mistakes and contradictions. on the other hand.. It must be remembered here that a Mut`ah relationship makes a woman neither a wife nor a slave girl of a person, whereas the Quran specifically restricts sexual relationships of a person with these two. It should be noticed that the particular word used by the Quran in the referred verse translated as "wives" is "azwaj" plural of "zaujah".

@12followershia The Quran does not support this view. According to the Surah Al-Mominun and Surah Al-Ma`arij the Quran specifically disallows all sexual relationships, besides that which are based on Nikah or that which were between a master and his slave girl1. The Quran says:
And those who guard their chastity, except with their wives and their slave girls for they are not to be blamed. But those who trespass beyond this are the ones who are transgressors. (70: 29 - 31)

however i do not understand why people have to dispute over people that came after the prophet, whether its his companions, scholars, family.. i believe that the story ended at the death of the prophet, it was the end of the message from Allah. we should not follow anyone blindly, if any scholar says that something is an obligation, all we need to ask for is an authentic saying of the Prophet that sais so, or the Quran.

The only people who completely and truly comprehend Islam and the teachings of the Quran are the Prophet s.a.w., his daughter Fatima Zehra (a.s.), and the 12 Imams, the first of whom is Imam Ali (a.s.) and the last of whom is Imam Mohammad Mahdi (a.s.), who is currently in occultation. Without the love of these people, one cannot possible comprehend the beauty of Islam.

if the need to follow anyone else was necessary to comprehend the beauty of Islam, it would have been emphasized in the Quran.
on the other hand the Quran clearly emphasizes that only Allah Glorified can be supplicated to. if i see any person form any sect or school of thought is doing these things then to me is not credible or reliable any more

i dont believe that Allah would send down a religion that no one would understand accept a specific group of people other than the prophet he sent to explain it. it illogical to say that, i believe that any person can study the authentic hadith and understand the quran. if not the ambiguous parts, at least the main message is clear, and that's what we should unite on.

yea but sais who, you say no one can understand it accept the 12 imams, the ahmadis say only their imams can understand, the sunnis, i think say that only they can explain.
i think only the Prophet Muhammad can understand and explain it. and every one should follow Only him, and forget wat happened after him.

well in islam before the messenger of God passed away he asked the people of 2 things as his pay for the prophethood.one was the quran and the other was the ahlulbait.these 2 cant be seperated.And also the fact that the messenger of God asked the prophet to announce Ali after him and he did.but the first 3 calpihs plotted againts this and took this away from Ali, which also lead to the death of Fatima the daughter of the prophet and the wife of Ali.(she is regarded as the woman of all time)

now im sure his decedents were prob very wise men, but it seams illogical that every muslim would have to know some men that live in a country to be able to follow the straight path. and since islam was always international not every one was able to accompany them.

the thing is i dont really care who was caliph after the prophet, i care about Muhammad, now if he did say that one needs to hold on the Alilbait to be a good muslim, i would ask for proof, i have been sent part of sahih hadith which sais that, but when i looked for the full hadith, the narrator specifies in the beginning that he is doesent remember well, but durring this i found other sahih hadiths which say to hold on to his way instead, which to me makes more sense.

the thing is that, bukhari is a man who was born 200 years after the death of the messenger of god.now you seem to get some of what i say in his book still.i ask you why not go and read the book that Ali wrote by his own hands, the hadiths, by first person.intead of reading bukhari who narrated like, i heard of x who heard of y who heard of z who heard of.
the husband of sayyid al nisa?the breaker of the door of khaybar, the closest companion of the messenger of god.and also how about the quran

but its like saying a guy wrote a copy of the quran 200 year later, it dosent really pose a problem since he just collected information.
thing is before i even start researching the authenticity of a claim, i want to know the main idea, and the idea of supplicating to other than God or hitting yourself is not logical to me, even if i wasn't a Muslim.

our difference is not us hitting our selves.infact many shias dont.the main idea is that the other caliphs did agiants the wishes of Muhammad (pbup).
if you at least believe in Ali as the 4th caliph, you should now search into his book called nahjulbalaghah english version (if you dont undrestand arabic) and see what he has to say himself.
