Seince you know how to make robots, wouldn't it be funnier to build antweigts instead? It's good, but it would be better with weapons.

@chasser12345 Yeah, I got them a few years ago from a shop that sold them for £2.50 each. Nowdays they do seem around £10 or so.

Usually, when both/all robots are in the pit, it goes to a judges decision.

@TheTeamMental True but we felt if Lightning had been voted the winner (our own heavyweight robot is the real Lightning), then people would have said 'fix'. Also it did go in first, so we let C2 win.

@kratos85 You can make your own. Read the video description and find the web link at the bottom. Click on 'Robot Wars' then scroll down the page until you find the paper robots bit and from there you can click on download links for the paper plans. Print them out and make them up. Easy. Then buy micro radio control cars off of eBay or wherever, stick them on (as in Pt10 of the series) and you're done.

@jedandtodd We got them from a shop ages ago. Nowadays they are harder to get. Try searching online such as in eBay perhaps?

@laura43fun True. The mini RC cars are so small, and not very powerful, so to add a working weapon would slow them too much. Next step would to make them with weapons that work and out of plastic but then they'd be Antweights. So we decided to keep them like this, made out of paper, nice and simple to inspire kids to have a go.

Isn't it pretty unlikely that a robot will be flipped by the flipper to due the CoG? I would've thought that due to how they are flipped in this, they would most likely end up the right way up every time?

Most times they end up ok. But the floor flipper did kill a few times. We just disallowed it as we wanted the victory to be other than the floor flipper. Next time we'll let it happen though.

Actually this is what happened but the cameraman missed the pit action first time around, so we had to do it again.

Anyway we were team Lightning for real in the real RW, so it is probably best we didn't win, or people would definately say it was staged. But none of the fights were. The results were all as they happened.

Ok, I was only going by the fact that Lightning was about 5cm away from the round mark on the arena floor before the camera changed, and when it DID change, it was in a totally different position.

My bad, shouldn't have accused without knowing the full story :)

No worries. I can see how it looked that way. We did the best we could. There are a few cuts in these episodes where we had to stop and re-film. We need ten cameras really.

@espermatazoide Let's be fair - it was hardly a real battle was it - they did this for enjoyment. Besides- it's fanastic people are still intrusted after so long =]
