I am a licensed hair stylist. DO NOT do this to your hair! Ever! You can get the same result with way less damage by simply going down, instead of up, with the razor. Going up shreds your cuticle (the outer layer of the hair.) This is why her hair looks fuzzy. Also, using a razor on dry hair can cause damage. If hair is wet, with some conditioner or detangler in it, it will allow the razor to glide right through without catching on the cuticle and fraying it. It makes me cringe to watch this.

@fleabitecat it wasnt that bad for my hair. mine is pretty sturdy so it stayed fairly healthy. i believe the whole "wet or dry" depends on the stylist. i know plenty who cut dry. i dont think my hair looked "fuzzy". furthermore, i actually completed a hairstyling apprenticeship, following making this video. i appreciate your input, however i dont like your approach. why dont you make a hair cutting tutorial and post it as a video response as opposed to making rude comments.

@sweethellokitty10 Usually a good idea is to find a picture of a scene girl with her hair pretty visible (so good pixels = more detail so they can see their layers). Tell them you want many layers in your hair and to be similar to this -insert picture- person's hair. Make sure you mention if you plan on teasing it or not because it requires a slightly choppier layer cut :D

@blankpageblank Your hair grows on average 1/2" every 2 months. So that's not exactly "fast", and yes... you ARE going to ruin your hair by going against the cuticle with the razor. You should NEVER go toward the root when texturizing with a razor. By doing that you're causing the cuticle to open even more which causes breakage. I cut hair for a living. So don't try to tell me what will or will not ruin your hair when clearly you have no education on the matter. :)

@blankpageblank Go look up a picture of hair and do some reading so you'll know exactly how wrong you are. Once you hair starts splitting, the only way to stop it is to cut the split part off. So technically it will continue to split and ruin even new growth if you allow it to get that bad. :)

@blondebtqueen Hair razors can be expensive at some places. And my closest beauty supply store is about and hour and a half away. I dont have a car yet and no one drives me anyware. Using a hair razor or a shaving razor both work fine. No need to be so mean. And "Scene" is not dead. Lables never die.
