  • Oh My Jesus On A Bicycle!!! Why would anyone destroy a perfect guitar?? :O I've tried to keep my electrics and acoustic in top shape

  • Cool!!!

  • Microphones.... FAIL

  • at @2:30 you really hacked off the edge of you nut men...not cool

  • I have a Excel stratocaster too! :D

  • I guess the end result looks kinda cool. Its kinda lame tho when you think that all of that damage was done on purpose tho. Just kinda worth it to have ur guitar get knicks and dents from over the years on accident and then later on remember how that got there. Also doing this is purposely bringing the value of the guitar down.

  • could you make a cigarette burn effect with a blow torch

  • great job man, the stripes, noooo but the rest, i like. Thanx dude

  • "then i kicked it around outside" i was like :O why?!!

  • well nice job. but the yellow kinda made it look bad and fake.

  • poor guitar..

  • Wait... Why the hell are you destroying your guitar body? I don't see the appeal of making a guitar look like it's been ran over by a car and set alight multiple times. I'd gladly buy an antique guitar that's been well cared for. Not a new one that's been destroyed and "reliced" to make it look antique.

  • @tehabc well here is the thing dude. if you want to pay 3,000 dollars for a good reliced guitar... then you an do that. but if you can't and want a relic'd guitar, then thats what doing this is for.

this is what people who want to have a relic'd guitar do who can't buy one or actually like doing this as a hobby.

  • the cigar was epic

  • lol why do people do this !

  • i love the yellow stripe thats fresh

  • 0:49 awesome, gotta do that! pop-shove it on my guitar!!! cool vid dude and awesome music

  • nice yellow stripes

  • rare ac/dc playing on this

  • @libertyfalls

    Lots of love darling :*

  • @Gibbe9925 gay

  • @libertyfalls hahaha, lots of love to you to :*

  • @Gibbe9925 still gay.

  • Only one little problem. Your nuts broke! bahaha! Anyways, great job man. I think I might get a used Mexican strat and try this. Wouldn't wanna put my American standard through that. I want it to grow old with me, not before me. haha

  • not bad but too much on the edges

  • Fretboard and neck?

  • Your guitar looks realy nice

  • would sand paper work well?

  • @thedonace213 For the body? Its a lot of work to do it by hand with sandpaper. You could but It wouldnt be weapon of choice.

  • One of the best tutorial videos of relicing ive seen

  • one of the best relics i saw on youtube ....

  • is that ACDC playin in the background?

  • Yes. Its Crabsody in blue.

  • Really nice video, that guitar looks great. I really like the way the stripe was done, looks worn and not 2 shiny. You didn't over do it, either, some of these guitars look like they've been attacked by a gorrila with a belt sander ;-)

I might relic a bass someday, if i do i'll try to find this vid again :-)

PS Youtube should allow you to write more in your comments, then i could have said this in my other one.... :-)

  • Thanks!

Just ad the video to your favorit's and you'll have it there when you need it.

  • You did a good job on this. You didn't go over the top and those orange stripes are pretty sweet. Reminds me of the mustangs with the racing stripe.

I see a vid on here the other day where some guy went so over the top and just made the whole deal a complete waste of time.

    Good vid.

  • what ac/dc song is playing

  • Crabsody in blue

  • wow dude that paint job you did is really cool!

  • the nut looks fucked up

  • Nice job! like the striped painting at the end.

  • Relic-ing the guitar is the dumbest thing the world. It has to be really shallow-minded to like that.

  • Shallow-Minded implies having values that are superficial. It's not like i would disregard a really nice guitar just because it's NOT reliced, THAT would be shallow-minded.

What your saying is complete rubbish, it's like saying that all people who dress well are shallow.

Also, if you're going to comment on a video it helps to actually say how/why what you're saying is true. Otherwise, you're just wasting comment space, especially when you're just blurting out obviously false nonsense.

  • You're right about me not advancing any proper arguments. So here they are: to me, as a musician, old instruments have a kind of 'soul' within - look on instrument reminds all the people who played it, all the occasions it was used on, the places it was taken to, and so on. Guitar becomes a witness and even part of some long, always interesting story. Any nicks or scratches are part of instrument's life, they're part of its unique history.

  • Now, relic-ing an instrument is an attempt to create what I described in purely artifical way, just like artifical diamonds are made. What is the point of having just worn out guitar that is nothing more than only worn out (destroyed?) guitar, unless you're a punkrocker? :P

    Cheers!

    Stachu.

  • Firstly, i'd like to say that what i said probably sounded angrier than i meant it 2 and that it wasn't only directed at you, you're just the last straw on the camels back :-). I can understand where you're coming from with you're arguement but (IMO) there's no difference from relicing to painting a guitar yellow.

I know it sounds like i'm missing the point, but i'm not.

Especially when you consider that most guitars are now finished in poly, so even when they do wear it will be really ugly.

  • I think that tasteful relicing is just a way (now the only way for most) to tap into that vintage american style. I will admit is probably not the greatest thing for resale value(!) but it's something people enjoy doing and enjoy the result of, without hurting anyone else... So why not?

    PS Favourited :-)

  • gd job! u should try leaving it in the sun for ages as well, or burring it

  • Awesome job man :D

  • wow great job i think i might do that if i ever get a guitar without a set neck

  • Thx!

Its possible to relic the guitar without removing the neck but kicking it around might be difficult. ;P

  • you broke the nut tho lmao

    noticed that bit XD

looks pretty good, the yellow stripe was nice XD

  • No, its been broken for years. :P

But i still works great. The 6th string is kept in place.

  • did the same thing with my tanglewood rebel bass when i was re-spraying it XD

thank god for super glue (y)

  • shes beutiful
