I know the place inside out having filmed much of the modern Brooklands, but I found it imposable to associate the piece they are racing on with how the Campbell Circuit is today!
Lovely bit of film, would SCH Davis have been in this race? I ask because I have a painting, (original) by him and it would be interesting to link it with the film.
The Brooklands was gigantic... and maybe the scariest thing I have ever seen.. There was NO safety anything back in those days.. can you imagine the carnage that must have occured with crashes at this place back then ?? I am glad that they haven't completely destroyed the place... there are A LOT of tracks that are gone without a trace.
Good grief! not a safety car in sight, and none of the drivers are wearing pretty little safety suits and helmets, or living in Monaco! Also not a advertising sticker on the cars and no NICE baseball hats at the end. How did they manage to race their cars under that lack of health and safety conditions? Am I showing my age? God! F1 and the drivers bore me to death!
Great bit of footage.

Thanks for posting this, really great to see. Three years ago I took my son to what's left of Brooklands...I was far more excited that he was!

This is the stuff of Empire ! When rigs were built of wood and men of steel .
I cannot place the man in the white mackintosh .Can anyone enlighten me ?
Looks a little like Whitney Straight but I don't think it's him

One of the best comments I have read on YouTube in along while - this is indeed motor racing at its purest.
