  • Glad it helped. Practice this stuff and you will will will improve! I had absolutely terrible line quality before doing these exercises.

  • Thank you so much, this helped a lot, especially because i need it for school!

  • Wow, I thought I was the only one who saw the dance component with the art! LOL. It's a concept I kinda kept to myself not thinking anyone else would "get it"or even care. Thanks for commenting.

  • Your drawings are awesome. I'm looking at this video through a dance lens and everything here is so true when you're practicing your craftsmanship. The crossover between dance and your type of drawing is definitely lines. In one medium you use a pen to draw a line and in the other you use your body to make lines. Also the practicing of basics to improve your craft. Good stuff.

  • Fantastic! Looking at your drawing in another video and right away saw your line quality. Thanks so much.

  • Just stumbled accross these videos, and I gotta say I've learnt a lot just from watching you. I would be estatic if you did a series of videos on eyes/noses/facial structure and hair. Especially facial structure. But great work, and keep it up!

  • @Freetoplaynoob Thanks for watching. Im planning doing more extensive vids in the future drawing eyes noses and facial structure like you suggested. Im laying foundation right now to build upon later. Thanks again for your interest and comment.

  • love that Tombo.

  • So, what about Andy, then? He doesn't really have thick and thin variety most of the time, and his stuff is super great.

  • @aphilby Andy's work is fabulous. He's going for a different vibe altogether with his work. I understand he used a thick continuous line, and it works for him great. In my case, this was a method that was drummed into me by by friend/teacher Rhyan Rys some years ago, and it kind of stuck. My influences were Hirschfeld, Richmond, and various comic artists,

  • The exercises presented here are guaranteed to improve your line quality that OTHERS will see and comment on. Beautiful lines are necessary for any visual artist working with pen and ink, including caricature artists, character designers, and sequential artists.
